Just filled out a survey for Intuit Turbotax
(after filing, blegh) - here's my suggestion to them:
Most of the questions ask about the site, which admittedly is well designed.
Then came Question 24: What additional product information would have been helpful for you?
It would be helpful if you provided information about how income taxes are illegal and unconstitutional and don't pay for anything except some of the interest payments on the national debt. You should inform your customers and the public on your website along with how to abolish the system because people are very misinformed about this direct and unapportioned tax; and they will be much poorer through giving the government their hard-earned money, which no body wants even if they get to use a good website.
then 26: If you could identify one improvement to this site, what would that improvement be?
see 24
have fun folks, and seize every opportunity :-)
as an aside - i had an issue with IRS that the 2006 AGI that i had on my copy of the return wasn't the same as what the IRS had on file. I talked to them about it and they had no idea. The guy did say that he spoke to another guy who had a "very similar issue." Anyone else get this?

Intuit
I work tech support for Intuit. It is the best company that I've every worked for. Over the past five years they've made "best company to work for" as #3, #33, #100, and I'm not sure on the other years. They consistently stay within the top 100. Should you ever have the chance I'd suggest you read "Inside Intuit." Its an incredibly unique company right from its very roots and it hasn't lost that small business feel either.
Now with that said, I find it funny that you answered that question by telling them how taxes are illegal. During my interview I was asked what I knew about taxes and I pretty much stated exactly as you did. As far as figuring out tax rates and filing regulations etc. I knew nothing. Still got the job.
Unfortunately, those that are going to collate this survey are seasonal, temporary, workers. They come back every year to work during tax season and many use it as a foot in the door for full time employment. Your tax "rant" won't reach the right people. If it does make it to a full time desk, it won't be entered as a company suggestion but the workers will definitely do their homework and check the tax laws.
All intuit employees are encouraged to work independently within their jobs. They are encouraged to always step outside the box, take career risks (in a good way), come up with personal designs and programs that can be implemented within the company. Creativity is rewarded. So, consequently the intelligence level there is really high. These employees will examine your assertions and do their homework.
Oh, and yes, we have a very large number of Ron Paul supporters there too!!!

HA!
Thanks for the insight, Maeve!
I can tell that some good thinking went into their website. . . much better than most. I have to admit i gave them all 9s and a 10. . .
I certainly didn't think that my comment would be taken seriously. . . though from what you say it will probably be a contractor that collates that. Either way, someone will see it. btw, i find it slightly hard to believe there are a lot of RP supporters there. . . i mean. . . HYPOCRITES, huh?
Speaking of hypocrites, i do have a sincere apology to make to everyone who pays taxes. . .
I am poor and have kids and i took the credits. . .
Some of it will go to RP, and my wife and i are strongly considering that whole extra rebate to the campaign - but i really wish we didn't have to take it. Its the system, people - it is very broken. . . its a lot of money to us. . .
Real wages are down over the last 25 years. I am noticing older people really starting to notice how much harder it is financially for the 20-somethings than it was for them. This all, i feel, is part of the debasing of these peoples' culture - debasing the money. Eventually we are too mired down in mundane existence to have the time or energy to care about anything bigger than our meager security.
But keep it up the re-education campaign, please everyone. We can give 100% to the campaign and 100% to the movement right now because they share so many important elements, but we all realize that whatever the outcome of this campaign is, the rEVOLution is literally in its infancy. Please give that deep thought. If too many of you out there think this thing is over or already climaxed then we are in big trouble. If you think this is going to get EASIER? We need to dig deep and find the resolve that this pursuit of and teaching about liberty is a Way of Life. We need to have much more gumption to bring down what we are facing . . My kids and i are counting on you people who know better to dedicate your lives to doing this thing right. It will take the rest of some of our lives. I will be here, spreading the word and defending liberty in the absolute best capacity i can.
Lets fix this, guys. My kids are really counting on us.
Lots of supporters
Now, of course, you are not going to get the corporation to endorse him but those of us who work there are behind him. You may be surprised to know that the people who work in the software industry have been behind Ron Paul since the beginning. And there are a lot of us.
Intuit makes business software, predominently for small businesses. Turbo Tax is just one of their products and also the one that is most easily recognized by everyday people. What they do best, however, is business managment software. Quickbooks, used by 85% of small businesses in the US, is a double entry accounting and payroll program rolled into one. Enterprise is like a Quickbooks on steroids, it can handle a payroll expense of $10,000,000.00. They have a Point of Sale program that will handle inventory tracking, pricing, as well as customer invoicing and receipts etc. There is Pro-Series, LaCerte, etc. So, anyway, the business is not entirely about taxes.
Sorry, I get a little carried away. It is honestly such a great place to work. They treat the employees like you would a client and we are considered their greatest asset. We are spoiled beyond belief with perks because they believe you need to have a balanced life to be successful and that you should want to get up for work in the morning.
Anyway, fun little chat here. Thank you. I am proud to join forces with you in the r3VOLution. I want the world to be a better place for not only you and you're children as well as your grandchildren. I think we were meant to leave our mark here in this country. My grandchildren will appreciate it and so will yours.

Facinating, Maeve. Thank
Facinating, Maeve. Thank you very much for the perspective. I love that kind of thing. But its actually very depressing b/c i work for a major company now in the mutual fund industry. Their logo is a sailing ship but what they don't show you on the logo is that they keep the sails down to save money on cloth and most of the time (all the time) its the oarmen slaves in the hull getting the boat around. Yeah, i'm one of the oarmen.
I got to get out of here. It is killing me. How do people work like this for 40 years? People put up with such misery. . . in so many areas of their lives.
On that note, have a great day everyone!
great
I'll have to remember to answer those questions accordingly as well. Good idea!
