ANSWER THIS QUESTION ?
Should McCain get to the magic number of of delagates as reported by the media. Is there still a way that Paul can win at the convention? I here and read that although McCain wins all the popular votes Paul still has more delagates voted upon. Hope someone can clarify this for me.

this forum unfortunately is popular and I'll bet we lost a lot of votes because of the way things are presented here. Outlandish, inflammatory, off topic, and untrue content - and frankly off putting to new people trying to learn about RP
staying on topic is a good thing
you must be a truther this is not a forum for truthers nonsense its to elect RP
Should Mayberry's comment be flagged?
Mayberry, if I don't like the way that you rarely use caps, should I flag your comments?
The MSM, and many of the people who get their ideas from it, think Dr Pauls policies are outlandish.
Many people thought his ideas on blowback were offensive, inflammatory and untrue.
Comment YAY!
Flag BOO!
If that is the way it is...........
then why are we made to believe our votes count besides giving these guys ego boosts. I mean, how stupide can this process be to vote for a candidate when actually if they don't like who WE choose, the GOP can swing so that they can do it at the convention. How about we start a movement to just make this a popular vote, make it easy and less retarded. I wonder if anyone has pondered this!!!!! Am I the only one who thinks about this!?!?!?!
google 'abolish electoral college'
and find out:
1-who has pondered this!!!!!
2-who thinks about this!?!?!?!
sorry, but its just plain lazy AND alarmist if you dont do some of your own research before you post...
on the other hand, maybe you are young and never were taught this basic truth in senior year government class...of the way it is.
Maby
I have a life and do not have time to sit in front of the computer 24hs a day to research this. People like you is why uninformed citizens are scared of the movement. People are reaching out for info and then you turn them off by your post.
Yes Paul can still win
But its tricky.
First it depends on each states GOP rules and if the delegates are bound or not bound. Out of the 2,380 delegates sent to St. Paul - 1,729 of them will be bound in some formal way
These break down in the following way:
- 463 delegates will be bound through the convention.
- 565 delegates will be bound through one ballot. That is, they have to follow the results of the state election on the first ballot. After that, if no candidate has a majority of delegates, they are free to vote as they please.
- 383 will be bound through two ballots.
- 318 will be bound through three ballots.
The remaining 651 are not bound in a formal way. They can vote however they want from the first ballot.
Take McCain's home state. Arizona has 52 delegates, but the delegates are not bound and can vote any candidate at the national convention. The MSM counts the 52 delegates for McCain, but in truth they have no clue who the delegates will vote for at the national convention and Paul supporters have been very active in becoming delegates.
Second it depends on if McCain can make it to the national convention. There is real question as to if he is a natural born citizen and and who knows what dirt might come out about him in the next 9 months. If he is forced to leave the race all of his so called delegates will become unbound.
Thanks for your explanation.

NBC (Natural Born Citizen)
I had thought that this was all settled long ago:
"There is real question as to if he is a natural born citizen..."
Article II, Section 1: No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President...
OK, so there are two possibilities:
1) natural born Citizen: must be both "natural born" and a "Citizen",
2) a Citizen of the United States at the time of the Adoption of the Constitution: must have been a "Citizen" on June 21, 1788.
I think it's safe to say that no one alive today can meet the requirement of #2.
BIG QUESTION: What does "natural born" really mean? John McCain was born in Panama on August 29, 1936 at the Coco Solo Air Base in the then American-controlled Panama Canal Zone to Admiral John S. "Jack" McCain, Jr. and Roberta (Wright) McCain.
MCCAIN'S POSITION:
Although McCain was not born within a state of the United States, his U.S. citizenship (and future eligibility to be elected President) as a technical legal matter was assured at birth both by jus sanguinis, since both of his parents were U.S. citizens, and jus soli, as the Canal Zone was at that time a United States possession.
I think there will be a McCain implosion just like the Guiliani
