The point concerning Castro's flag and portrait of Che Guevara hanging in a presidential candidate's Texas HQ is exactly in the symbolism and societies it represents. Lastly, Che Guevara was the coordinator for all of Castro's political prisoner executions. That is, he directly oversaw the murder of thousands of anti-Castro individuals, many of whom were simply writers, poets, businessmen and former colleagues who were promised democracy instead of communism.

If it is McCain vs Clinton/Obama, the best you can do is to not vote, like many other conservatives in the GOP and then wait till the mid term elections and then take over the Senate and COngress again, while in the meantime take control of the GOP, kick the small neocon back to the Democratic Party (where they came from), and unite and draw in Independents as well as smart, conservative Democrats.

There is one very good reason to.
Bush and company is the worst group of personnel in the executive branch of the federal government that to even compare them to the rest is insult to the rest. They are on a whole different spectrum. Other administration may have twisted things, misconstrued things, ignored matters, etc. about the constitution, but whatever it was there was at least recognition at some fundamental capacity of American law. This current administration just doesn't give a shit about that. It is a burden, an annoyance for them that is nothing but something in the way towards what they want to accomplish. They are sick people. They are either sociopaths or so narcissistic narcissism is embarrassment to be associated with them.
As such, you vote for two things within that context. First, you must vote for the repudiation of this crazy, sick, evil dynamic. That is what this election, at its best, should accomplish. It is less about policy and more about a healthy decision in reaction to this sick dynamic. Hence, you vote for a repudiation of that. Second, to do just that you have to vote for that which is viable, which can, considering all the laws and procedures etc., realistically get elected. Reasoning out these two factors you result in a vote for Obama.
I personally think Obama is a schmuck just like the rest of them but I care less about him and care more about what is represented by him as an object. And what he represents as an object is the people's wish for change. Hence, a vote for Obama is a practical, viable vote for some fundamental change. Not the empty BS change he thinks he is talking about, but the genuine desperate wish of change we the people want. And if he wins and he fails in that agenda it will only help matters in the bigger picture. Think about what the past 8 years have done to energize people. The more failure there is the more the people will succeed.

If nothing else, consider this, though this may drawn a lot of discussion. I don't know the details, but apparently the amount of information known before September 11th, 2001 was relatively huge. And that info wound up on Condoleeza Rice's, the NSA, desk. Nothing was done. The administration just ignored the matters. Why? Cause they wanted to do what they wanted to do. They just didn't care. Previous administrations enacted the same relative foreign policy, though nothing as crazy as the current Middle East situation, but they did it with the acceptance that they would have to ensure a certain level of "maintenance" and "protection." They would have to manage the blowback in other words. Intelligence leads were followed and what not. I am not justifying anything. I am just trying draw out a difference. I mean there is just simply an enormous, definitive difference between this current administration and an other administration. They just simply do not serve the American people. We need to keep the message alive...positive dialogue with those that think different and as of now I can't imagine not voting for Paul.
We want healthy change
towards more freedom, not less. If Ron Paul does not get the nomination, not voting or voting for the poor choices offered by the Dems and GOP would not help our cause. The best choice is to get behind a third party 100% and get large enough percentages to really draw some attention and to get ballot access for the next election cycle. At this point I favor the Constitution Party as the closest to our ideals. Let's not give up hope for this election cycle, but if it doesn't work out, don't bail. We must look to the future. This two party system is not best for our country or freedom.
