Write-In Campaign, pledge to write-in and pledge to recruit

I have been suggesting that Ron Paul endorse and advocate a write-in campaign but my wife told me moments ago that Ron Paul once said he would support the nominee of the Republican Party and would not run against that person in any way.

I think that it is within the realm of feasibility for Ron Paul to get the election as a write-in if it were to start now and were organized in such a way that those who chose to participate had certain supports.

By that I mean appropriate Slim Jims devoted to the write-in campaign, a website, preferably the official Ron Paul site, but maybe a new site, on which a running count of pledges was kept so everyone in the world might see how many were determined and committed to cast a write-in vote for Ron Paul.

If you believe that Ron Paul’s ideas are meaningful enough to make it feasible to persuade an eligible voter to become devoted to Ron Paul being elected then you might consider making a pledge to a write-in drive and a pledge to recruit others up until the election. You see the two pledge process is necessary to ensure that the numbers continue to grow.

If we were to start with most who donated demonstrating a degree of commitment that would be about 100,000 to begin with. The idea would be for them to each sign up with the double pledge on the website. They would have about one month, March to reach one other person who learned about Ron Paul and shared the wish that he become our next president so that they were willing to join the double pledge campaign thus 200,000.

April the pledgers have all month to find one other. Simply ask a friend or relative or coworker and convince them just as you are convinced yourself. Not everyone you ask will be willing but still given the appeal of Ron Paul’s ideas by the end of the month there are 400,000 signed up.

In May these each set out to find one more each. Perhaps some focus on Ron Paul’s determination to restore the Constitutional limits on government by addressing Article 1 Section 8. By the end of May there would be 800,000 signed up.

In June each keeps looking for one other who perhaps wants to experience the abolition of the IRS and to know what it was like for citizens who lived before 1913 when there was no income tax. Many people don’t realize that. Point out the language in Article 1 Section 9 where a direct or capitation tax was forbidden and compare it with the language in the Sixteenth Amendment to see the power grab. Did you know that Lincoln tried to pass an income tax during the Civil War and it was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court whose Chief Justice made it clear that he would find any such income tax in conflict with the Constitution. The Congress waited until he died and passed the Sixteenth Amendment in 1913 the next year after his death. Now 1,600,000 signers to the double pledge drive.

July would be a good month to remind everyone that the signers of the Declaration of Independence tried to abolish slavery but the representative from the slave states would not vote for independence until the offending passages were removed much to the consternation of Thomas Jefferson.
The Founders wanted citizens to be as free as possible but did not want the government to be as free as an individual but to be constrained by the Constitution to just have the powers granted to it in Article 1 Section 8. Having persuaded one more each the number of pledgers is up to 3,200,000.

In August those in the movement set out to each find one more who is dissatisfied with the choices offered. Maybe they heard that Obama said last night that you are your brother’s keeper and that you haven’t given enough yet! Ron Paul would free you from unchosen obligations to others but set you free to help whomever you choose. Number up to 6,400,000.

In September the pace quickens and the devoted pledgers each find another to join in half the time, thus 12,000,000 who also are strongly motivated and the numbers surge to 24,000,000.

In October the efforts of those in the movement can point to the growth in numbers which helps inspire others and in two weeks there are 48,000,000. By now with the election day in sight and the numbers of people watching this drive surge as they watch the counter on the website with more people interested in the outcome of the election the counter passes $$,000,000 with one week left before the election!

The hard work of those in the movement to reach others who are potential supporters, taxpayers, young people facing higher taxes and a falling dollar, home schoolers, seniors whose fixed income loses purchasing power as the Fed prints more counterfeit currency, military families who are among Ron Paul’s strongest supporters, advocates of limited government and individual freedom, gunowners, advocates of free market solutions, lovers of freedom, peace and prosperity, people who see the wisdom of the Founders in limiting the powers of the government, bears fruit as the write in campaign secures more votes for Ron Paul than for the other candidates on the ballot!

If Ron Paul’s solutions and ideas are as good as we know them to be it should be a simple matter for each of us to convince just one more every month until the election and persuade them to take the double pledge as we should now. Just one more each month would make it happen.

My wife has taught me that usually the issue is not either, or but both. This drive could be in addition to the Ron Paul March in Washington. I just think the double pledge write-in drive gives each of us a chance to be part of the Revolution and to do our own share to make it happen. Notice that those who begin now need only reach only ten or so others between now and election day. Each successive wave need only find nine, then eight, then seven, etcetera. So it gets easier as time goes by and you will have the website counter to show that the numbers are indeed growing, not of dollars but of those committed and pledged to write in Ron Paul’s name on the ballot in November.

I think the delegate approach is fraught with uncertainty and it is a mistake to think that we could really dupe the McCain supporters into choosing Ron Paul delegates. In my opinion the only real hope is a write-in campaign which started now with each of us devoting ourselves to recruiting ten others to the Ron Paul campaign between now and the election. It would take 100,000 of us who are willing to do what it takes to find others who will join in the effort themselves. Asking much but you evidently consider there is something worthwhile to you for Ron Paul to win. You must believe that there is something in it as well for anyone you might recruit to feel as you do.

As Ron Paul points out no Empire has ever survived the destruction of its currency. That is what is happening. Four cents in 1910 would have bought what it now costs a whole dollar to buy! How much longer can this society survive especially with the likes of those who might beat McCain and there plans to socialize everything. The fight for your freedom must be worth the effort. Are you willing to find freedom lovers who live among us?

Never put off for tomorrow what you can still do today. - Benjamin Franklin

vote in the write-in poll

we need to see the numbers so please go to http://ronpauldonatetoday... and vote and in the meantime VISUALIZE: Ron Paul's name is on the ballot, every ballot and then some, he was left out of ballots across this nation and that is truly unfair. he is on the november ballot.

I posted this earlier today.

http://ronpauldoantetoday... we need to get actual numbers and ther is a poll on this spot. We also need people to sign the petitions and write congress to get our paper ballots back. www.congress.org.

Only if necessary

I've commented weeks ago about the write-in idea and am committed to do so, but only if necessary.

Desperation will make up for lack of time if Dr. Paul does not get the nomination, but wasting time preparing for a "what if" only takes away time and resources so badly needed to get the job done of winning delegates and learning the GOP rules well enough to withstand the lies we will be told by McCain supporters who will try to keep us from using our influence at the various conventions.

Let's get to work!

Absolutely yes, to a November write-in

Is there even an argument otherwise?
Come September, whoever the nominee, we are voting for Ron Paul. Obtain (download) absentee ballot for your state, write-in Ron Paul, take a picture of it, (upload it to a central site), and feel satisfied that your vote was counted.
Believe me, it is enough! Even if it's not official.
One million people voluntarily removing themselves from the electorate will not go unnoticed.
Ron Paul is our candidate.
We vote for him under any circumstances.

Each meet-up head can organize photo of group vote.
College campuses can have write-in vote clubs.
Precinct leaders can door-to-door write-n ballots.

Taking a million votes away from a McCain or Obama, in such an organized fashion reminiscent of the moneybomb, would be a huge lift to the Revolution.

Huh?

I didn't get past your first paragraph. Why are we considering a write-in campaign? The campaign is going great! We're getting delegates and he's on the ballot. He doesn't need to be written in. Maybe you are assuming this would work if he isn't the nominee. That's too far away, and he'd have to agree to it for it to count. In most states you have to file as a write-in.

Write-ins can't win unless they're wildly popular. The 4-5 % of votes he's getting from Republicans would translate into 4-5% of the general election votes, more or less, if he were on the ballot, but even less if he wasn't and had to be written in. It really doesn't solve our problem.

We have to keep working to make him the nominee so he has, finally, the chance to share in the media coverage and can debate the other candidates.

Keep working on your ideas, but use them to fuel the delegate process, and prepare voters for Ron Paul in the general election. Also, support other freedom-loving candidates and platform changes.

He NEVER said this...

He was asked the question many times throughout this campaign, even in debates on live TV in front of many Republicans, and he said he would NOT endorse any of the other R's because they don't stick to the R principles. Hell, he said it just this week on Wednesday.

I will be writing his name on the ballot, and I'm going to do everything I can to make sure my neighbors will do the same.

Is there a source for the comment

about supporting the GOP nominee? I watched him do the closest thing I have ever seen to a tap dance on the question, myself.

I never heard him say he would support the Rep nominee

Whenever he was asked who he would support, he always hedged answering if they would change some of their positions he might consider - but never committed.

The most recent comment I heard from Ron Paul

was that he would *not* support McCain or Huckabee if either were the nominee of the Republican Party.

I'm down...

for the write in, I was gonna do that anyway, regardless who gets nominated other than Dr. Paul. Fight the power.

Write in Campaign is Forward Thinking

I take issue with most Ron Paul supporters when it comes to the issue of a write in campaign. I am a precinct leader hear in Ohio and I am still supporting Ron Paul. Today is our Primary. So how can I campaign for Dr. Paul after the Primary? Sending out literature and talking to people is not going to win the Presidency. Whether or not Ron Paul gets the nomination is not the determining factor for preparing a write in campaign. If we wait until after the Primary in September we will have only 6 to 7 weeks to promote a write in campaign. This will FAIL. It has been 1 year and we still do not have enought votes to overwhelm the other candidates. We need specific Slim Jims, DVD's, Trifolds, Mosaic Cards, yard signs, car magnets etc. for a write in campaign so that we can hang info on every door knob in the United States. We can order, fold, insert etc. the information before the Convention. As soon as the Convention ends we either waisted some money or we got a jumpstart on the write in campaign. Remember that Dr. Paul will speak to tens of millions of Americans on the National TV Networks. Millions will be asking where did this guy come from and why did I not hear him before now? America will be ripe for a write in Revolution! We could literally triple our numbers onernight. We need to be prepared for all possibilities. That does not mean that we have given up. It just means that we will try all avenues to achieve our goals. Think ahead. Plan ahead. Don't wait untill it is too late to create the materials needed. It is difficult now to get slim jims delivered in a reasonable amount of time. Let's plan and execute the preparation for a write in campaign-NOW so that we have a chance to succeed!
Onward to November!!

He Is Still In The Race

Why bring this stuff up all the time. It only takes attention away from the presidential race. How about you get people to vote for him NOW. Come this summer and all primaries are done, then we can talk.

Pay attention. Turn on the

Pay attention. Turn on the news.

Are you saying that the only way this can be dones is by

absentee ballot? Please explain.

Yes to the write-in!

I posted this a couple days ago.
The object is to achieve overwhelming support. Actual state rules for write-in do not apply. For "the master's tools will never dismantle the master's house":

Every state has an absentee ballot. Nearly 600,000 people have voted for Dr. Paul. Hopefully more than a million by the last primary. This is our base. A huge one.
We can organize a write-in option for the November election. Our votes can matter and be counted. Download and distribute state's absentee ballot. Write-in Ron Paul. Canvass for a write-in of Ron Paul. Hold Ron Paul write-in barbecues... Take a picture of the vote and mail it in. Upload pictures of thousands of votes. (Our paper trail!) Group votes. Meet-ups can take group shots of their votes at a late summer picnic. Real votes taken away from a McCain or Obama and offered to the candidate we choose.
We don't need the GOP or the Democratic machines to pick our player. Our power can overcome their bias.
Of course to elevate Dr. Paul to the nomination is where our energy must be focused now! Perhaps McCain will choke on whatever it is he stores in his cheeks. (Ron Paul votes probably).
This is an afterthought. And a positive one. A real vote, accounted for.
The GOP is already frightened about the "6-11%" they claim will be taken away from McCain, if Dr. Paul went third party.
As Dr. Paul declares, this is our revolution. He may be a Republican, a true Republican. But it is not the GOP that has raised his numbers and spread his message. This is our time now, not four years down the road. Too much can happen.

so, all write-ins must be on

so, all write-ins must be on absentee?

anyone know the answer?

anyone know the answer?

Good thinking

That weird write in...........I never thought it could work!
Now people, practice writing Ron Paul. We don't want to give these vote counters a reason to throw out a Ron Pal or Pul. I see it as a golden opportunity!

We should write it in as

Congressman Dr. Ron Paul, so there can be no confusion as to who it is. There can't be more than one...don't leave anything to chance! Each of us must encourage at least 10 others to do the same, and they can then educate 10 more each, and so on.

Pass the Torch Double Pledge for Write-In vote for Ron Paul

I have come to realize the error of my ways. I had suggested that each of us make a double pledge, first to write in Ron Paul in the November election. If we all did that he would end up with less than one million votes because I have no reason to believe that there are that many of us. At most about almost 60,000 donated to the Tea Party money bomb.

The second pledge would be calculated to increase our numbers. In addition to the first pledge to write in, also pledge to recruit one more person by enlightening him or her, educating, so that he or she understands why we are so excited about Ron Paul. It is not just because he is an inspiring speaker, but because of his devotion to and understanding of the Constitution and how that relates to our problems today. Restoring the Constitution will help to establish sound money and stop the inflation which drains the value of the savings and fixed income of our seniors and everyone else.

My point is that it should be possible to recruit individuals to our cause because many are not impressed with any of the front runners. There should be a huge pool of potential Ron Paul supporters. I reiterate that it is not enough for you to make up your mind to simply write in Ron Paul’s name in November. It is not enough because there aren’t enough of us for that to result in Ron Paul winning which is and should be our objective.

Only by recruiting others by each of us in a project devoted to the process of helping you to successfully recruit will we ever succeed on election day. For one thing each new recruit must become a person dedicated to recruit another himself or herself! Those who face this daunting task seem to give up without even trying.

I think the Slim Jims should be helpful in this effort, especially if a special SLim Jim were designed to appeal to someone to become a recruiter. That is part of the reason I think this kind of project requires endorsement by Ron Paul and that a counter of new recruits and pledgers be right on the home page along with the donation counter.

Most of us do try to enlighten others. Even those who listen raise the question of Ron Paul’s chances of winning. If they ask we could point out that we are engaged in a process to recruit supporters and recruiters and the success and progress can be followed on the home page. Naturally this will be more convincing if we are able to show growth from this earliest stage where we have only a handful who participate. If we can enlist the most dedicated Ron Paul supporters to begin with, say 10,000 of us, and they each succeed in recruiting one other in a short time, say a couple of weeks, then the counter will show 20,000. The true test will come next when we will see if those new recruits can succeed in recruiting another each over the next two weeks. If so then there would be 40,000. IF that is successful then others who are watching might decide to join in the project so there might be a burst in numbers perhaps up to 100,000.

I am just trying to find a way that might increase the number of voters who would pledge to vote by write in for Ron Paul eight full months from now.

I would not discourage the March on Washington and would hope that would also lend credibility to the campaign and its ultimate success. Having a counter on the home page showing how many are going to vote for Ron Paul who are also devoted to recruiting should also be a source of inspiration.

Ron Paul pointed out that it took courage to put the counter on the website about the donations and money bombs.
It would certainly take courage to put this kind of counter of write in votes up there for all to see as well.

I think it would be a challenge to set intermediate goals, 100K, 200K, 400K, 800K, 1M, 2M, 4M, 8M, 16M, 32M, 64M, 100M.

Notice that if this begins to get off the ground and takes flight it wouldn’t take long before the world notices it happening. If we could begin, take the first step, and we all are aware of the plan and project confidence that it can succeed, then that will be conveyed to the electorate and will overcome their cynicism and despair.

I know it isn’t easy, George Washington suffered the loss of thousands of men in the Battle of Brooklyn Heights and had to flee before the British who were out to kill them all. Our problem is to use our knowledge of Ron Paul’s ideas and policies to enlighten our countrymen who bear the burden of the present regime of tyranny.

Now is the time to wage this idealogical battle, while doing so is still possible, before we lose our right to assemble, to speak, to worship as we please. I say it is worth a try, otherwise we are going to watch this election come and go and will have to endure the further erosion of our liberties under any of those trying to assume the powers of government.

But I must agree that it is not an easy task before us. It is hard enough for any of us to just talk to someone about this. To recruit others to our cause when those already committed to Ron Paul, who profess to love him, are unwilling to commit to the project I am advocating here so that by election day in November there will be enough millions of voters already pledged to write in Ron Paul for president. History will look upon us and pass judgment upon us. Do you have the will and the willingness to add your voice to enlist your fellow countrymen to our cause. Our cause should be their cause as well. Can you explain why Ron Paul’s ideas appeal to you? Can you devote time to handing out a Slim Jim at your Church or Synagogue, your business owners in your town or business district, your neighbors, your friends and family, your waitress or waiter?

Think about it. It will not work if enough of us are unwilling or talk ourselves out of it before we start. I know the conventional wisdom is that such a task is not achievable. There is a division of labor involved. Starting with ten thousand of us willing to do this 100, 000 is attainable by each of those ten thousand reaching only four others who then only have to reach three others themselves! 10K, 20K, 40K, 80K 100K.

Once we get to 100,000 the goal of 1 million likewise only requires each reaching, recruiting 4 more!

Once we reach 1 million the goal of 10 million only requires reaching 4 more!

Once we reach 10 Million the goal of 100 million requires recruiting only 4 more each!

Imagine this project being successful and the excitement along the way. You will be able to tell your friends or strangers that it is working and we are on track to win and they can help and participate by recruiting their own friends.

Get the idea! You want Ron Paul to be elected right? Here is one way to make it happen!

Please encourage Ron Paul to consider this strategy and that it is worth testing.

Wm

Yes...If he is not going to be on the ballot in November

this must be done. We have no time to wait for next time around. As RP has said himself on many occasions, this may be our last chance, we must act quickly. We cannot wait another 4 years, nor can we wait and hope the GOP somehow comes to its senses. If Dr. Paul is not the next POTUS, we are all screwed. See you in the FEMA camps...

Does anybody care? Is anybody out there?

I think that this double pledge idea is probably the only way to assure that Ron Paul gets enough write in votes to win in November. The fact that I am the only one searching for this thread and the only one to reply to it so far is disheartening.

I imagine that the fact that no one wants to join this endeavor is revealing and I should fold up my tent and go home.

There are so many threads in the forum it is beginning to look like a hopeless task.

I know many of us are handing out Slim Jims and telling people about Ron Paul so that the numbers of his supporters is growing. I would like to think that will do the trick but still the notion that Ron Paul doesn't have a chance is discouraging even to those who are newly aware of him and excited about him.

Sure the donations keep coming in from new people each day but that is a detail that is hard to find. www.ronpaulgraphs.com I wish Ron Paul would just have another counter on his main website www.ronpaul2008.com and a copy of that on other sites such as this one, so that people could watch and see the numbers of his supporters who intend to write in his name in November growing.

Just a thought1
Wm

I certainly hope that the

I certainly hope that the plan for Ron Paul to be the selection of the Rep. nominating convention is successful. I hope that we are doing all each of us can to make that a reality. It depends on no one winning enough delegate votes on the first ballot in September. If McCain does win on the first ballot then he has the nomination. If he doesn't then hopefully enough delegates will vote for Ron Paul on the second ballot for him to win the nomination.

But if that doesn't happen then there will only be two months to go before the November election!

My idea of a double pledge write in campaign, to write in for RP and to pledge to pass the torch to find others who are willing to take the same double pledge should start now and need not conflict with the delegate approach.

My only concern is that Ron Paul would not want a write in campaign because then it would appear that he is in competition with the Republican nominee and might cause the Democrat to win the election. The solution is to modify the double pledge to make it a triple pledge. The third pledge would be that we will not cast a write in vote for Ron Paul unless there are sufficient numbers pledged to him on his webpage the day of the election to assure his winning. If he does not have enough write in pledges to win the election then we would pledge to withhold that write in for him and would vote for McCain instead to assure that Barrack (You are your brother's keeper! But you haven't given enough yet!) Obama does not win.

I will go to the district caucus and will vote for Paul supporters to be delegates and alternates. I am all for it. I think that McCain may seem to have the number of delegates he needs but many are not pledged to him and perhaps when the actual vote occurs he will not get enough delegate votes. That would give Ron Paul a chance to win the nomination at the convention. Nothing would make me happier except his winning the presidential election in November.

Wm

F*** the GOP...if they want our votes, they can nominate

Dr. Paul. Who cares if a Democrat wins? If RP does not win, we are screwed and the country will be destroyed. Whom do you want to help here, McInsane??? Personally, I see no advantage to him over one of the Dems. If anything, he's worse. Bottom line is, they all work for the same evil forces, and McInsane is actually mentally unstable and probably the most likely to incite Armageddon. We should get as many people as possible to write in RP if he will not appear on the ballot, no ifs ands or buts. I, for one, will write him in, regardless of whom it might help or hurt, because it is the right thing to do. He is the only one who deserves my vote, period. End of story.

Couldn't have said it better

The only difference between the "R's" and "D's" this time is Ron Paul.

I have never felt better about voting for someone like Paul, so regardless of outcome I am honored to have had the opportunity to vote for the greatest countrymen to arise in America in my lifetime.
A true patriot of the Constitution.
I just wished that 500 or more people like Paul would step up to the bat and take over Congress.
