Vote Now! Is it possible to support the troops but not the War?
Glenn Beck asks if you agree or disagree. (Careful, the wording is a bit tricky)
*UPDATE: Just Disagree
Q: I don't buy the rhetoric from these militant anti-war groups that say they're against the war, but still support the troops. Do you agree or disagree?
Then write Glenn and tell him that supporting the troops means LISTENING to the troops. me@glennbeck.com
The troops have sent us Americans a powerful message and the world has be denied the voice of the men and women who have shed their blood in the name of freedom. If you LISTENED to the troops, they are asking you to vote for Ron Paul! They overwhelmingly have told us that they want Ron Paul to be their Leader; their Commander in Chief!
You talk smack about supporting the troops, and yet you don't listen to them! SHAME ON YOU! I support the troops! I listen to them. What have you done but vote against them to shut them up and send them to their death? You show America you support the troops. Go ahead. I dare you.
Here's what they have said, read it and then YOU tell them you didn't listen.
Military contributions as reported by the FEC;
Ron Paul ...............$392,721
Barack Obama.......$124,234
John McCain..........$106,309
Hillary Clinton...........$75,258
Mike Huckabee........$47,374
(*Mitt Romney..........$43,332)
(*Fred Thompson.....$58,373)

Here was my email to Glenn Beck
Glenn Beck,
Do you support the troops?
While you've been doing your broadcast in comfort and safety, golfing on the weekends (or whatever your hobby is), the troops have been pulling their fifth and sixth tour of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Their wives (husbands, too) and children are left wondering how they'll survive while they are away; left wondering if their soldier will survive yet another tour of duty...Can he dodge the bullet or roadside bomb one more time?
While Americans head to the ballgames and shopping malls with nary a thought or concern, our soldiers breathe sand and struggle against four different ethnic/political groups (Shia, Sunni, Baathist, and Al Qaeda). Contrary to what McCain asserted, General Petraeus rides in an ARMORED humvee. An no one--no American--walks any street in Iraq without an armored entourage. How long do you think it takes a returned soldier to quit scanning every doorway and tense at every approaching car before he/she can head to the ballgame or shopping mall with "nary a thought or concern"?
Do you support them? Enough to hear what they are silently, yet clearly saying? Ron Paul receives more donations from active duty military than any other presidential candidate. What does that tell you?
They want to come home.
Do you support the troops?
Sincerely

Another attempt to get through to Beck. I sent this..
Glenn,
Your question of how someone can support the troops and not support the war is good one at that.
I am a Father of a 19 year old Navy Airmen. Her mother and I signed for her early entry at age 17. She graduated a year early from high school just to enter the NAVY asap.
She recently received the NAVY Achievement Medal for acquiring every possible advancement and certificate available for her years of service, and included a heroic act during service. Her mother and I are very proud. She is currently sailing on the USS Nimitz in the Pacific heading to who knows where.
The people of Berkeley absolutely disgust me. They may not agree with the war, but never should we look down upon our troops. They have been and will continue to be our defenders of freedom.
Your question of how you can support the troops and not the war is really not that difficult. You support our troops in every way possible, and that means more than just a yellow ribbon on the rear of your car. You encourage young men and women to explore the possibilities of the military. It builds great self esteem, teamwork, character, financial responsibility, pride and if anything else hygiene. Nothing like a stinky teenager.
But, to support the war is a different story. It would be very one sided and hypocritical for someone to say they disagree with almost everything our government and politicians are doing here at home, and yet it's these same individuals running the war. It's really this simple: The same morons that have wasted time and money pursuing steroid abuse in baseball, are the same idiots making policy in Iraq.
Not for one second do I not believe that there is an immediate threat of terrorist. But to enforce diplomacy, as we are attempting to steal Iraq's oil at the same time offering Al Qaeda a 130,000 man target is just poor judgment.
Did Iraq ask for diplomacy? No
Did Iraq ask us to steal their oil? No
Is Al Qaeda happy their recruitment numbers are going up and they are successfully killing our troops and innocent civilians? Yes
Is the true reason we are over there is because Sadam Hussein was starting to refuse US Dollars for oil. Yes
Did Hussein have WMD's? Yes, we gave them to him in the 80's and he used them all up on the Kurds.
And now you ask, how can someone be against the war and yet still support our troops? It's real easy for this Father of NAVY Airmen. I am the true Patriot for acknowledging these facts, and listening to our troops buy voting for Ron Paul. They give more money to him than all the others, and up until a few weeks ago, it was all others combined. They are sending us a message and it is our Patriotic duty to listen.
It is without a doubt in my mind, that you will not acknowledge this email. But it is my duty to try and open the eyes of an individual with a broad public audience who has the ability to right the wrong.
Ron Paul will not run from terrorist, only the contrary. He is just much smarter about how to win with the resources we have (human life) and resources we do not have (money).
Freedom is contagious, but don't be afraid.
Sincerely,
Tim Moore

I cant edit my post?
I clicked edit to fix a simple grammar error. I fixed it, then it clicked submit. It took me to a page that said "you dont have access to this page" Hmmm? Now when I have deleted my cookies, re logged in, and when I view the post it does not offer an edit link. Anyone know why?

That has happened to me
That has happened to me several times, no matter how many times I check it before I post, I don't see the error until after it goes up. Quite annoying when you can't get in to fix it.
great letter.
thank you
What an ass question.
He should be fired for asking such a stupid question. I'm not voting because he's an ass.
Supporting the troops
Supporting the troops by waging wars is like supporting your Janitors by breaking all the toilets on Sunday morning.
Haha, nice simile
As a former assistant janitor, that comment was hilarious. "Here ya go, at least you'll be busy today," the Superintendant would say to me, as I grudgingly accepted her proffered broom and readied my mop and Terminator cleaning fluid, to take the melancholy walk down the hallway to the boys' restroom, where once again nameless horrors awaited me...
It is as nothing, though, compared to the crap gushing forth from mouths ill-informed, ignorant, and just plain idiotic. If only, I think, as I ruminate upon my fold-out chair with a steaming meatball sub in one hand and the pressure of my curled fingers folded into a shaking fist for the other, these asswipes did NOT hold positions of power and influence over the complacent masses.
Well, what can one do? Besides converting one's family, friends, and most of the surrounding neighborhood to the Good Cause, of course? ;)
Viva la Revolucion!
WE SUPPORT THE TROOPS=WE
WE SUPPORT THE TROOPS=WE VALUE THEIR LIVES, WE DONT WANT THEM TO BE KILLED
WE ARE AGAINST THE WAR= AN INTANGIBLE ACT. WE CANNOT TOUCH IT BUT WE CAN PREVENT IT.
This is the most
important message we can spread. This is transcribed from RP last video update:
"They would like to charge that we are unpatriotic, that we are not American, that the troops do not support us. But isn't it unbelievably beneficial for us to realize now that our funds exceed all the other candidates that come from the active military duty people. We get more money from active military people than all the other candidates--all the Democrats and all the Republicans. Which tells us that we're on the right track. We're supporting the troops because we support the Constitution. How can we expect the troops to go and risk their lives defending the Constitution and then go to war under UN resolutions? So this is a powerful message...."
Look at this
Where Am I Wrong?
I don't buy the rhetoric from these militant anti-war groups that say they're against the war, but still support the troops.
