Gold and Silver Investing ...

Any city 'Yellows' will have "bullion coins" dealers. Bullion coins are pretty much all legal tender of some 'government, most of the last century. If they've been in biz 4-5 years, they will probably be ok. Check for references; and check several dealers. More on that later in the article.

American Eagles, Canadian Maple Leafs, Chinese Pandas, are the most recognized today. They are all available in 1, 1/2, 1/4, and 1/10 Troy oz; the maples and Pandas are also available in 1/20 Troy Oz. Maples and Pandas are PURE Gold; The eagle and most other world gold coins are predominantly 80% gold alloyed with copper generally for durability.

SA Krugerrands used to be the hot ones a decade or two ago, and befroe them was the British Sovereigns (both .2354 Troy Ounces).

Also availavle are Swiss Francs, French Francs, (.1867 troy oz.); Dutch Giulders, Danish Kroners, Italian Lyre, and several others are also available, along with Mexican Pesos in various sizes.

All of these gold bullion coins used to be actual legal tender in general commerce before fiat money drove them into the closets, but all are traded today based on the spot price of gold on the New York Commodities Exchange. All are the 'hedge' against price inflation caused by the Fed, et al that we are all looking for.

All of these coins can be 'Googled' for additional info, and for sources of great dealers on the internet. Price Checks, comparisons, refernces can all be found on the internet. Google is the greatest source for 'homework' that the world has ever seen. It will educate you in every way about precious metals. Just ask it! USE IT!!!

Finally, I buy heavily on eBay. That's right, eBay :-) Yes it is safe, secure, and still very "PRIVATE"!!!!! I have used it almost exclusively since I know how to value both Gold and Silver 'on the fly'. One window is open to the spot price of the moment (kitco.com); the other is opened to the eBay auction.
