A second set of state capitol marches after Washington DC?
I am 100% for the Washington DC march, it will be great to see that happen! But what if we hold separate marches in each state on a certain date after DC? I mean the impact would be huge. think about this, how many local newspapers are there? How many local news channels are there? Do you watch local news, or read local newspapers? You know the media will see us in Washington DC, and they will most likely cover it, but I know if we marched in each of our state capitols, it would get local press, and it wouldn't be as main stream as say national news would be. Just think if we could get on the front page of each local newspaper. Think how many people would see us, and hear the message Ron Paul has brought us. We would get the old, the young, and anyone else who watches local news, or reads local papers. It is free publicity, and it will impact where we live, and that to me is what matters most. Knocking door to door is great, but having the local news cover us for free is brilliant in my opinion.
I realize not everyone can attend the Washington DC march, but I do not see why all of us can't get to our state capitols, and show our power on a local level. As another Ron Paul supporter suggested in another post/ comment (anarchoVEGAN) " having 2,000 people rally in Pierre, SD, or 10,000 rally in Albany, NY, will warrant front page coverage." I live in Oregon myself, and I know for a fact that if you even get 2 to 3 thousand people at the state capitol, you get state wide press coverage, and on ALL the news channels, and newspapers. I have seen this happen with only a few hundred showing up.
So,...what do you think? Give me some feedback, and maybe if we all agree, we can get this ball rolling after the Washington march. Maybe all those people who see the Washington march will want to be part of the movement, and join us on a local level.
I say it is worth a shot.....what do we have to lose?
GO FREEDOM, and GO RON PAUL!!!!

Liberty_belle, you are great and full of wisdom
You know, I am proud that you see my motives without making me feel foolish, yet with your wisdom, you make me realize that there is a time and place for everything. I do tend to be a bit impatient, but I do know from reading your post that I do need to keep this on a back burner. I can see from posts of other people that this is not it's time, I am just worried that if I wait too long then the time will have past.
I don't wanna lose what might be gold.....you know what I mean? I just believe in this strongly. You know even if I think this is the greatest idea in the world, it will not work with out you, without your neighbor, without the patriots who support freedom, who support the constitution. So....I will wait, but not for too long. If there is not a decided date on a Washington march soon, I will repost this.
People, we need to come together and make some decisions. This is the moment we live in, and without it we are merely shadows. So live NOW, and let us unite in WASHINGTON.......then if all of us are willing..state capitols.thanks, and I will continue my personal fight for freedom. I will also continue to put my 2 cents in this forum post, so...if you feel like commenting, I will try my best to respond.
Thank you liberty_belle, you have helped out more than you know.
My bad
I tried to reply to liberty_belle's comment, but I had to re log in. So it posted it way up here.
I think this
is a great idea. I do wonder though how many Paul supporters really exist. I'm hard pressed to believe in the millions. What we can do is promote these marches not necessarily specifically FOR Ron Paul but in spirit of him and everything we have been wishing and fighting for.
YOU ARE ALL DIVIDING THE
YOU ARE ALL DIVIDING THE EFFORTS,
TALK ABOUT THIS
AFTER WE HAVE MARCHED,
NEXT THING YOU KNOW THE "MULTI-MARCHERS" WILL WANT A 3RD PARTY RUN,
WAY TO DIVIDE THE SUPPORT
Denver In August, Democrat Convention, Anti-War?
Deb
One Two PUNCH!
I say DC on Memorial Day Weekend, then the State Capitols on July 4th!
That sounds great to me!
July 4th would be perfect for a state capitol march, and memorial day in Washington DC......could it get any better?
If there really are so many Ron Paul supporters out
there. Then the march to Washington should be in the milllions, NO?
They ignored 600,000.00 anti war protesters in Manhatten before the Iraq war.
I think there ought to be a way to tally up how many would participate.
You are right
If 600,000 people were ignored in Manhattan, then if we bring it down to a local level people may listen. Look, I am not trying to undermine the DC march, it is a GREAT idea, I just want to suggest a later march of state capitols, all of em in unison.
Thank you for your comment
I would definitely do both
I can't wait to hear when the DC march will be! I just heard that the Pope will be visiting the White House in April...I hope it won't be when we might march...
April 19 would be great because it is the weekend
and most people work during the week so easier for people to come.
So I hope they pick a day that is the most convenient for the majority.
Yeah, I wanna know when the march will be also
I am looking forward to Washington DC, but.......I sure wish someone could set a date. Yeah, if the Pope is there, it may not be best of times to march....however.....
By the way, thanks for your feedback =D
This will take away from the DC March
people need to stop suggesting this type of thing !!
It undermines the DC march. If you can't go then simply don't go.
Separate date. No
Separate date. No undermining here. Just chill.
Thank you
I also don't see the undermining. Maybe I should have suggested this at a later time, but I wanted to prepare people. It is not as if we have all the time in the world. Anyway, thanks again
listen, its all about the
listen, its all about the march in dc
you start making othr plans, and the lazy fucks will MAKE the excuse of attending some shitty state event with a dc march!!!
good idea, but not right now,
if your gonna talk about getting together, make it about the dc march or the september convention
Why would someone want to
Why would someone want to pass on the nations capitol for a state event. I don't care how lazy you are, it's not a real concern
"Man, I'd love to be a part of history. But history's like, gonna take up the weekend....."
If your motivated to go to a state event, which are as you put "shitty", then I think you would be more than willing to march on D.C.
Solid point you make
You know, I do agree with you about lazy people, and thanks for the "good idea" comment. I edited this post, because of ideas from people. I still want to do this, but I do think we should cross one bride at a time.
Thank you for your feedback
I think its a good idea!
It wouldnt interfere with the numbers at the March at all.... as long as it is on a different day!
I would do both! My husband and I are definitely going to ...DC but we would also go to our state capitol!
I think that all of these
I think that all of these extraneous ideas will actually hurt the real march.
Just like I think that all of the goofy ideas here hurt the real cause.
Thanks for your feedback
I am just trying to help however I can, and I thought that this is a good idea, I still do. But I am not always right. that is why I am asking you all on your thoughts. I realize that some of these side projects may downsize the greatness of one HUGE march on Washington, but I think this could help boost that march, ....again...my opinion. Anyway, I wanna say thanks for your input, and whatever may happen Washington DC is and will be the main project for us all,...well besides getting Ron Paul in office, and the ultimate revolution of America.
On A Different Day!
I do think it would be counter-productive to the DC march to have state capitol marches on the same day because...
given a choice of traveling 1,000 miles to DC or 50-100 miles to your state capitol ....well, you know alot of people would take the easier way!
I would do both as I said before! Local TV and Newspapers would give alot of coverage especially sometime after the march in DC!
Maybe change your title to After the DC march...not during or before so as not to interfere with the turn out of the march in DC!! That one has to be HUGE!!!
GREAT IDEA!
This is what I mean, people coming together, and hammering out ideas. I took your advise, because it is very good advise....it has been edited. After the Washington march makes way more sense.......sometimes I myself just don't see the whole picture all at once.
Anyway, thank you.
Hey Americandodo!
No one can deny that it is a great idea but this needs to be brought up again after the march on DC plans because of the "human nature factor" of given a choice, we still in our society today, will opt for the quick and easy out! The march on DC needs to be HUGE and no one wants to muddy the waters right now regarding the need for a huge turnout! That is number one priority for the DC march ...we need the numbers!
On the other hand its a great idea that needs to be back burner for the moment...sooooo.....lets bring this up again after the march because with the network of meetups in each state and other internet communications it would not take a long planning period to pull the state capitol events together! We could easily effect a good turn out, speakers and local ( state) entertainment and ads to pull off large turnouts for the state capitol events! The congressional, House and Senate "Ron Paul candidates" would love to come speak at such an event! And by then we will have many more "awakened participants"!!!
Are we having fun yet? Ron Paul said "have fun!" This is a long term commitment for all and by saying "have fun" I think he meant enjoy spreading the message and celebrate our victories along the way! I am having fun and even if 10 people are negative its the one that "turns on" that keeps me joyful! We are growing, we are educating each other and sharing thoughts and ideas..it is wonderful!
