*Is this where we put our vote IF not Ron Paul*

BECAUSE of this party's values - same as Dr. Pauls!
...www.constitutionparty.com...Supports Ron Paul!
THIS is where we put our vote in this years Presidential Election. It is the ONLY place that makes any sense.
I'm NOT willing to vote for ANY Dems or Reps other than Ron Paul.
Here's a small excerpt from my email. I support the Constitution Party even though, FOR NOW, I'm a Republican for Ron Paul!
*****
"The country’s largest and fastest-growing third party based on voter registration, (Ballot Access News) the Constitution Party, responded to Tuesday’s Potomac Primary results by echoing the sentiment of Values Voter-driven Family Research Council president Tony Perkins:
“Our allegiance is not to a political party but to a cause. We are not bound to vote for a candidate simply because he or she is the choice of a particular party… We are not… in this process to win at the expense of our beliefs… Vote your values! (http://www.frcaction.org/).
The Constitution Party points to Sen. John McCain’s voting record as completely at odds with the “values” of the genuine conservative voter.
“McCain is dead wrong on virtually every issue of importance to constitutionalists”, noted Constitution Party National Committee Chairman Jim Clymer.
“McCain’s alliance with the left makes him indistinguishable from the Democrats running for president. He never met a liberal piece of legislation that he didn’t like”,
Clymer added saying, “Just look at what McCain’s hook-ups brought us: The McCain-Feingold assault on free speech and the McCain- Kennedy amnesty free-for-all for starters.
Voters who want immigration reform are being offered a pro-amnesty Democrat and a pro-amnesty Republican. That’s hardly a choice”, Clymer noted.
"The Constitution Party applauds the message of true constitutionalist Republican presidential candidate Congressman Ron Paul while encouraging voters to consider the third party option in November.
“Those of us who work to advance true conservative political ideals know the two “Big Box” parties are so much alike they will not bring about the “change” we hear so much about. The 2006 elections and the turnout in the Republican primaries are proof.
In the Super Tuesday primary 14.6 million Democrats thought the presidential nomination was worth getting out to vote, and only 8.3 million Republicans bothered,” Clymer noted. Even Republican Party stalwart
Newt Gingrich predicted doom for the GOP saying: “That is a warning of a catastrophic election”.(http://www.gopusa.com/the...).
“This year, conservatives will make it clear in the general election, that they’ve had enough and will finally vote for a candidate that best represents their beliefs, even if that candidate doesn’t have an “R” or a “D” after his name”, Clymer predicted.

I like the constitution
I like the constitution party, but I'm more supportive (meaning in philosophical agreement) of the Libertarian Party. Also, the LP has more ballot access and exposure (even if they have very little), and they support RP as well.

I did - thanks - for conversation purposes only
I'm in it for the entire r3VOLution and will follow Ron Paul's lead all the way to the white house in DC!
"...my #2 pencil is my sword."
Why do people "soft pose" non-civil libertarian ideologies here? To sharpen our minds!! Think how fast we are getting at spotting political sophistry, subtle in deception, yet nevertheless moving away from rugged individualism and toward collectivism.
Let me answer this Constitutional Party or the "If no Paul" question:
I WILL WRITE-IN PAUL'S NAME, that's all that my conscious will allow, "...my #2 pencil is my sword."

If Ron Paul does not make the nomination, he will tell us what to do. In the mean time, we continue our fight for votes and delegates.

Ron Paul does NOT fit in with Constitution Party
Actually the Constitution Party is CRAP. They are NOT small government at all. It is basically a small-government "religious" party, that wants to shove their Christian values down your throat, whether or not you are a Christian.
Making laws against victimless crimes is NOT small government. The Constitution Party believes in continuing the War on Drugs, passing laws against pornography, because it is "bad for society" and a whole host of other things. For anybody who pays attention, Ron Paul specifically stated he is AGAINST this insane war on drugs. So I don't see why the Constitution Party continuously tries to use Ron Paul to promote their crappy movement. It's pretty cheap.
Ron Paul DOES match the Libertarian Party pretty well, and indeed he DID run as one. He really has only two deviations: his immigration policy and his abortion views. But even those views do not conflict greatly with the Libertarians:
1. Abortion - Ron Paul agrees that this should NOT be a Federal issue. That is consistent with Libertarians, i.e., decentralizing things that have no place in the Fed. govt. But also, Murray Sabrin, another who ran as a Libertarian, successfully argued that "abortion is not a victimless crime, because the fetus is a victim" and that logic is generally accepted by pro-choice Libertarians as a valid difference in viewpooint.
2. Immigration - Although Ron Paul is not espousing open borders, if you listen to him speak on this topic, he states that "if the economy were not so bad, people would be a lot less concerned about the influx of foreigners." So even there, he is basically stating not so much that he is against the concept of immigration, but more against the government ignoring laws that are on the books.
I actually believe that the Libertarian Party would have a lot fewer problems with Ron Paul's platform, than the Republican Party. But he is definitely NOT aligned with the Constitution Party's warped platform. The Constitution Party is just as presumptuous about their misinterpretation of the constitution, as they are about latching on to the name a popular grass roots politician for their advancement.
Ron Paul IS a Libertarian, but for all practical purposes, he has to run as a Republican, and declare that he is a Republican, in order to get votes from the narrow-minded couch-potato public, who follow along with the media that says you are supposed to act like sheep and vote for 1 of the 2 major parties. I believe that the means do justify the ends.
But anyway, anybody who does agree with most of Ron Paul's issues, and are not too caught up with the immigration platform, should consider the Libertarian candidate if Paul is not on the ballot. Simply on the basis that they DO represent his views. This is not salesmanship, and everybody should do their own research to determine whether they overlap. It is ashame that Ron Paul cannot run as a Libertarian and get elected, but anyway, enough of this Constitution crap. Ron Paul believes in separation of church and state, otherwise I would have never supported him.
This is just another
attempt at "divide and conquer."
Nice try but no cigar.
It's Ron Paul or bust.
Agree
To all those that have a negative response to this type of advice, I say grow up.The GOP will not be reformed because it does not want to be reformed. John McCain does represent the values of the GOP leadership. Look how many have come out to endorse him. How many candidates can the GOP field that want to talk about the Constitution? Has the GOP secured the borders? "You will know them by their fruits".
The GOP can not claim merit based on its better than the Democratic party. Values are absolute, they are not relative. Where does the Bible advocate choosing between the lesser of two evils? To stay loyal to the GOP is to have no values. Whenever good and evil compromise, only evil can win.
Whatever may come, my faith remains only with the Lord, and not some political party. As Martin Luther said, "Here I stand, I can do no other." I doubt the "Christians" of the GOP have a clue what he was talking about.
The Constitution Party is Ignorant
They are even promoting Alan Keyes as one of their possible presidential nominees.
When last I checked...
The CP is also big fans of the racist, tax and spend drugwar. This means they have 0 respect for, among others, the 4th, 9th, and 10th Amendments, no matter how they try to explain it away (and believe me, their defenders will try!). If I vote minor party, it's going to be Libertarian.
The war in Columbia, while not nearly as sensational as the one in Iraq, is if anything even-more of a disaster, both PR-wise for America and (as usual) fiscally. Anyone who doubts me should travel to Panama or Costa Rica and talk to citizens there. Don't go to Columbia, it's not safe.

reform GOP but vote Constitution or Libertarian in 2008
I agree with trying to reform the GOP, but that reform will probably not be complete by November 2008. If that is the case, I will NOT vote for McCain. Instead, I will look at the Libertarian and Constitution parties and vote for the better candidate. The only way the GOP will be convinced to change is if they feel heat from the competition. And that competition needs to come from the right as well as the left. If the GOP's only competition comes from the left, they will just shift further left. I'm beginning to get the impression that a lot of RP supporters are mindlessly repeating this GOP-only mantra, but it is not intelligent. If you have free market ideals, you should support competition in the political party marketplace.

NO.
Stay in the GOP and reform it.
There are enough of us to do this quickly. Leaving the GOP to go to the CP or LP will only "divide and conquer" our own movement and allow the GOP to remain a threat to civil liberties.
You only need to watch Ron Paul's video dated 2-11-08 to verify this. You can also look at how Ron Paul refuses to go 3rd party, and there's a reason for this.
The election laws forbid his going 3rd party!!!
AND, he cannot maintain his seat in congress if he joins another party.
We all thought there is something he is not telling us.
He is extremely intelligent, and i'll say this again, I will follow HIS lead -no matter what. HE can and will continue to lead the direction of the r3VOLution, no matter what!!!
This post is to discourage all those other posters who say "Obama" and/or whatever other CFR member they mention!
I'd rather have my vote count for something than for nothing. I will not waste my vote - I will follow Ron Paul!
Read and study the party principles and follow their accomplishments BEFORE you run them down. Remember Dr. Paul once ran as Libertarian - so how could you disrespect that????????
please
stop spreading this filth... if he isn't there we write him in.
I AGREE, FUCK PARTI FUCK
I AGREE, FUCK PARTI
FUCK PARTIES, ITS ABOUT TIME WE OUTGROW THE NEED FOR A PARTY ALTOGETHER INSTEAD OF MAS-DEBATING THE NEED FOR ONE.
WITH ALL THAT SAID, NO 3RD PARTIES!
Not a chance
Constitution and Libertarian parties have shown they play party politics by posting this kind of garbage. I will be with Ron Paul all the way to the voting booth, where I will write him in if that is my only option. IF that is my only option, I will blame the Libertarian and Constitutionalist parties for inciting doubt among the support for Ron Paul. You came fishing for voters, and you just lost one. Happy?
Ok, let's talk... I posted and I am LIFELONG REPUBLICAN!!!
and probably older than anyone else posting here!!!!!
Ron Paul cannot be a write in unless he/we follow the requirements for doing so in each state. Has anyone spoke to that issue at all? Time constraints, rules, policies????????
I just solicited getting 308 signatures for a required 250 signature petition to be put on the ballot in PA to run as a delegate. Now, I have to get elected - a basic unknown in the voting world! And, I have to run against "super" delegates. Let's get real here!!!
Secondly, "they" did not post this. I have been a Republican all my life!
If we vote anything other than the Dem/Rep, it will be NOTICED!
Set up the WRITE IN and I'm there, 100%, no reservations.
I've also stated I will follow whatever Ron Paul says, to keep this r3VOLution going!!!!!
You can't beat these huge parties at their own games - delegates, super delegates - no delegates for MI & FL for Dems and # cut for Reps! We cannot kid ourselves.
Time is of the essence, and we should get behind ANY OTHER PARTY!!!!! Join it and mold it in its' infancy. We can't fight the establishment and years of corruption - are you kidding me???
That's right!
My vote is Ron Paul's, whether or not he's the gop's choice. If you want to throw your votes away this year, go right ahead and vote 3rd party, but if you really want Ron to win, then write his name on the dotted line.
