Jesus died for the Jews first. they rejected Him, however that is changing and many Christians are hoping for that.

Residence in a particular locality does not neccesarily indicate fealty to the state or to a particular crop of political leaders. Ron Paul is opposed to the anti-Constitutional, hegemonic government of the United States but he still lives here. Who among us would belive that Ron would be better off if he left America or that America would be better off if Ron did not use his talents to better our nation.

I fully agree that we should NOT be meddling in the affairs in the Mideast. We give Israel's enemies 3X the aid Israel recieves, we require them to use that aid to purchase their war planes, etc from us, and then we expect to be able to tell them who they have to and who they may not make peace with. I am firmly convinced that Israel would be better able to defend herself WITHOUT our aid. She would also be free to make treaties of peace with whoever is willing to acknowledge HER RIGHT TO EXIST! We also would be better off if we gave no foreign aid through our government what so ever.

I understand what Liber-me has written....and I also understand what the below posts have stated too....BOTH are correct in their respective arguments.
I for one, believe that the country of Israel is sovereign. There is much history on the side of the biblical land known as Israel today. Those of Jewish and Christian belief would argue that the land was given to Abraham and his descendants through the lineage of Isaac. I believe that the palestinians have been given an inheritance too....and that this should be worked out peacefully.
I also believe that the palestinians have been treated brutally (but most of this brutality has come by the hands of their own leadership...i.e. Arafat...a man that was more concerned with building his own wealth at the expense of the poverty of his people.)
I also agree that the leadership of Israel is corrupt. I believe that they have not acted in the best interest of their people as well. They used the settlers/pioneers to build settlements in the Golan Heights, Gaza...and these people established communities, & raised their families in them for over 35 years...and the Israeli gov't came in and LEVELED their homes and 'gave' the land that was LEGALLY WON back to those who started the 1967 war ( for the palestinians are a group of people made up of various countries).
There is plenty of blame to go around.
Bottom line....The U.S. needs to keep its nose out of the middle east...let the middle east solve its own problems.
