Louisiana RP supporters dropped the ball at the state convention.
Original post...see update below:
Hello everyone. Tomorrow is the Louisiana State Convention. Today was our official protest before the seating committee where we protested the caucus irregularities that caused a number of the RP delegates to lose. The end result of the hearing was that the seating committee members were also delegates and moved to dismiss the challenge in an egregious case of conflict of interest. Tomorrow we will again make protests before the convention floor and we have a plan. We need any and all Louisiana delegate candidates and alternates to show up at the convention (we are meeting at the old state capital at 9am) as well any any supporters. I am not at liberty to disclose the exact nature of the plan, but we need as many people to attend as possible. Call your friends...call your family...call all Louisiana RP supporters to show up at the capital tomorrow...we need you and this is our last chance. Show everyone what we believe in and how committed we are to our cause.

********UPDATE*******
When push came to shove, not enough of us showed up. I don't know if people have just lost hope or what. There is no excuse, we Louisianians just didn't care enough to get out of bed today and drive to the state capital to make this thing work.
I suppose now it doesn't hurt to lay out our plan which was actually arrived upon by the official campaign staff. We were going to make motions on the convention floor formally challenging the legitimacy of the delegate selection process based on three criteria:
1. The date for registering to participate in the Jan. 22 caucus was Nov. 30. The party rules state that this has to be announced to the party by Oct. 1st. This announcement was not made to the general public until Dec. 19. (but it was made to 236 party members on Sep. 28).
2. The party set a deadline of Jan. 10th to have an application to be a delegate or alternate into the state party office. On Jan. 8th within hours of a full RP slate of delegates in all 7 districts being assembled, the party extended the deadline by two days until the 12th. It was during these two days that many of the final delegates put their paperwork in.
3. Many of the people who did register by Nov. 30 were forced to cast provisional ballots at the caucus because the party only ordered voter rolls through Nov. 1. Even one of the delegate candidates was forced to cast a provisional ballot even though she had a certified copy of her registration an her voter registration card both of which showed she was a Republican. Many of the provisional ballots simply were not counted.
Once the legitimacy of the results were to have been called into question, all of the RP supporters in attendance were to have gone outside and had their own convention under protest, called a rump convention. The results of which would be sent to the RNC where a determination would have to be made as to which list of delegates is actually legitimate. This is apparently a known and recognized course of action and had a good chance to succeed, with on drawback....only about half the number of people that we would have needed showed up. Shame on us.
We were still able to preserve our right to contest the results at the RNC based on the above mentioned election irregularities, but we would have had much more weight behind us if we had actually had a rump convention. Que sera sera...live and learn from us.

My prediction
Mccain won't make it to November , he has too many demons in his closet.too many lies to keep covered. He isn't half the man that can keep up the charade that he is involved in. Bush is ready to snap with all the worlds powers hating america and with it so falls the neocons and the fed. they ( the rest of the world including canada ) have boycotted US products in retaliation for this illegal greed war. Bush/Cheney will be on the run from prosecution and America is not only broke but so far in debt that they will never be able to fix it.
They will turn to the only voice of reason available and that is Ron Paul.
Why turnout was so low
I got the message here in Lafayette (Dist 7) at 11:18 pm last night.
Most people either had just read their e-mails by noon or still know nothing about it.
If this were contemplated anytime before, it should have been propagated on the DL to RP supporters with enough notice.
I would have gone, except I couldn't take off work at such short notice, nor did I have one dime enough for the gas(literally), and I had to be back in town for 2pm. It just wasn't going to happen for me. Sorry.
The thing to take away from this is:
LEARN FROM OUR MISTAKES AND OUR EXPERIENCE!!
If possible, force a rump convention in your state if it is warranted.
One thing is for sure. They will not be able to do this to us again.
How frustrating for you
politepaulite
Thank you, The idea was good. Like many I was informed about this late last night by just checking my email. Are we still able to sue the LaGOP for their gross irregularities in the election process
Fair weather friends
This wil not win our country back. This is a revolution------it's hard. We might have to sacrifice. This half-assed kind of response won't win. I don't think it's just LA either. Too may of us are just rolling over. Are we men/women or are we sheep??
Do we have it or don't we
The energy in this campaign better stay at top level or we are going to lose our country. I know it is hard and very easy to put our heads back in our shells and just let the world go by, but it is not going to get better as it goes by; it will get worse. You don't believe that, do you. Look at the police state situations. Look at our schools going to pot. Look at our economy diving. Look at your inability to work on one person in a family while the other takes care of home and children. This has all happened in the last 30/40 years. Very rapid. And I could go on. You are existing today, but it could be so much better.
argh

A lot probably didn't know about it.
It is really needed for the Campaign to get involved in this type of thing.
Is there anyone on the Campaign Staff that can help rally
the troops?
We have many more county and state conventions to go.
Someone has to know who our delegates are and get them
to the conventions in each state.
Please someone pick up the ball and run with it!

I don't think people lost
I don't think people lost hope. I think the post when up too late. If there are precinct leaders they should have a list of known supporters. HQ should have had a list as well. I got mine from HQ (for my county) the morning of our primary. Putting a post up at 10pm the night before isn't the best plan.
IMO
No choice.
This plan was not hatched until the day before at 7pm. There was a hearing that day where the official challenge was presented. Unfortunately the individuals on the seating committee were also the people who dismissed the challenge...talk about the fox guarding the hen house. It was a total case of conflict of interest. If the committee members had voted in our favor, they would not longer have been delegates...or even committee members. Does anyone see the problem with this?
I agree that more could have happened sooner, but still, I thought that many more of the alternate delegates would have shown up (these were people who were actually supposed to be there anyway) and many people know of the hearing and that there was the potential that they would be instated as the rightful delegates. They were told to leave their calendars open in case such an outcome were to come to be.
McCain gets Louisiana deligates?
Can anyone in Louisiana clarify this?

Can anyone in Louisiana clarify this?
"Louisiana Republicans met Saturday to divvy up 44 of the state's delegates to the national convention in Minneapolis-St. Paul in September."
Officially.
Officially all of the delegates are uncommitted, but many of them support McCain. Its still possible in the light of a serious economic downturn or someone shining the light on the truth about the war and blowback that some of these people change their minds. Its unlikely though, these people are political backdoor deal makers and they really only care about playing politics. This means that since RP doesn't have popular support that they won't even entertain supporting him. They have their heads in the sand about what is really going on with the economy the war.
Gah
This is just so wrong
AP reports
AP reports John McAmensty has a majority of delegates to go to the national convention according to today's results.
ACCORDING...
According to the ronpaulforums thread...We got denied severely, but supposedly the meeting has LA people admitting wrong doing on record. So we have to take our complaints to the RNC and get LA delegates disqualified.

Folks, be prepared to be stunned
We have the LAGOP by the balls. If we can pull this off, we will fire a shot heard round the world that will shake the national GOP and every state affiliate party to their very core. The LAGOP's current leaders might do as well not to even show up to the convention at all tomorrow.
I can't divulge details yet, but you will be picking your bottom lip up off the floor and then jumping for joy once you hear what we may very well accomplish tomorrow.
If we are successful, then tomorrow's headlines will read:
LOUISIANA LIGHTS UP THE REVOLUTION!
"Ron paul is the projected winner in LA"
...thats what we will hear tomprrow
Hate povery, not the poor - Gandhi
Don't you need to be convincing these people to vote for Dr Paul
maybe we should be careful not to piss them off just before the vote?
