One Brother in Pulpit, Another Seeks White House
David Paul never was much for politics, but the minister at a Grand Rapids church feels this year as if he has a ringside seat.
That would be thanks to his younger brother Ron, whose maverick campaign for president is upstaging many of his more staid GOP rivals.
It does not surprise the pastor that the 10-term Texas congressman holds his own debating the likes of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and Arizona Sen. John McCain.

Please note that Ron Paul simply wants drug laws to be at the State Level. He is not wanting Heroin to be OTC at Walmart. Drugs would still be illegal if Dr Paul got rid of the failed "War on Drugs." The only exception I can think of is medical marijuana in California. After all, the people of California have voted to approve it. What's next? Banning ephedra? Wait, they already tried that one, too! I wonder if Slim Fast is next.
Otherwise, thanks for the good article. But, please be cautious in the way you present Dr Paul's views. The average reader will interpret your article as saying that Dr Paul wants people to be able to buy crack cocaine at the corner market. It's simply not true.
Sincerely,
Hans
Typical MSM article
I enjoyed the information about Ron Paul's family, but once again the media just doesn't get Ron Paul. He is painted as a long shot, a "fringer", a curiosity. Everything possible is done to make his campaign sound illegitimate and unpromising. OK, so he can hold his own against Romney and McCain, but since Giuliani isn't mentioned, he's obviously not at that level!
This is what I would call a phase II article. In phase I, the press ignored him. Now, in phase II, the press writes about him and calls him a long shot. Phase III will be when they acknowledge that he has a chance. The writer of this article still has a way to go before phase III.
GR Press
I live in the Grand Rapids area and never knew Ron Paul had an older brother (David) here or about the other brothers. I want to thank the Grand Rapids Press for sharing the information about his family but the article was very skimpy and clumsy, the editor either didn't do his homework or purposely used the family connection as a forum to downplay the success of this campaign. Not mentioning anything about the excellent Ron Paul meet-up group in Grand Rapids rather confirms my suspicion but heck we'll take free publicity no matter how freshman it is.
Well duh.
.
Ron Paul's older brother says it's no surprise that Ron can, "Hold his own in an argument with Romney or McCain."
Any bright 3rd grader could hold their own in an argument with Romney or McCain.

I agree with Jane Jane Jane also - about Brownback dropping out, and that Hunter and Tancredo and (eventually) Huckabee will throw in their respective towels. And when they do, I hope they have the good sense to endorse Ron Paul.
Same story
Great picture (at bottom)

Good article!
I liked this article. I hope Google News or AP picks it up.
Interesting to find that Ron Paul has 4 other brothers. Every one of them holds a Masters degree or a Doctorate.
I think 3 of RP's sons are Doctors also.
Impressive.
Yes, very impressive.
I think that's why we hear so-little about his family. Everything I see/hear is great, and that's not much of a story. The news media seem to sense the hopelessness (for them) of trying to find something bad at this point. It's another sign we're actually winning. :)

Ron has a smart family no doubt. But if his ideas put him on the 'fringe', so do Mike Huckabee's, since he's been copying Ron a lot more lately in every way (except he hasn't got the record) Trouble is, it's the fringe with the money who counts! :-) Huckabee has none.
It made me sick that they were pushing Rudy again tonight with that Jennifer Flowers type interview, while Glenn Beck was pushing Huckabee who should have dropped out by now.
Sam Brownback is out, Hunter and Tancredo should be next.
Don't forget Alan Keyes...
Don't forget Alan Keyes... remember how frustrating it was for us when Paul always got left out?
