Is this DEJAVU or WHAT??

Another poster linked to this documentary War Made Easy - and the Media's hand in hand cooperation with the Pentagon on presenting the people with propaganda.

Looks like (Im not old enough to remember this) that much of what we have said about the Iraq War was said about the Vietnam War. If you listen to Nixon, or Johnson, Bush sounds like he took their old speeches and just changed the name of the country.

People marched on Washington to oppose the war, the majority of people were opposed, and they heard the same endless excuse from their government that we have heard from ours.

This is a good documentary for those of us under 40 to learn about what has brought us to this point, and the MEDIA's hand in it all.

Vietnam

I remember Vietnam too well. The only difference between Iraq and Vietnam is that our "picture" of Vietnam was not censored. I grew up seeing images of the war on TV. I remember all too well the pictures of people getting executed at point blank range.

With this war we've been kept in the dark as much as possible. Though you can still find images on YouTube that will give you an accurate idea of what its like there, TV will not broadcast these images. The less we see, the less chance of us rising up in anger. The government has done all it can to put its own face on the war.

Since the majority of people still get their news from the MSM there have been no mass uprising across the country. We need to get the ball rolling and bring the truth to the rest of the American people.

you know

when I was in my 20's I asked my mom about the Vietnam war - she told me she did not know much about it, she and dad were too busy working and raising a family to pay much attention - I think that is the main issue today, folks go to work, come home, eat dinner, watch the ole tube, go to bed, rinse / repeat - seems to me that most folks are totally un aware

I was in my early 20's when Vietnam war was going on and I think your Mom was right but even more than that, it was the beginning of a new era that unless you were against the war, you never heard people talking bad about it. Most people treated it as if it were more like WWII, support the troops, don't speak bad about the politics behind it and keep the "home fires burning". Everyone knew someone who served during that time, remember it was a draft. My husband, two of his brothers and two of mine all served in Vietnam, so we tried not to talk about it when they came home. This attitude and the fact that many men returning refused to talk about it, made an atmosphere such that no one really knew too much about it.
