How is it Romney got 20% in Washington?

I just do not get it .... CNN elections center has Romney listed at 20% of the vote in Washington State .... what is the deal? Shouldn't everyone know that he is no longer in the race?

Not necessarily. And ballots are printed in advance.

Here in Wisconsin, the names of who would be ON the ballots was determined back in early December; and has to be COMPLETELY settled by mid-January. Once names are ON that list, they do not come off (even if the guy dies).

So our ballots had Romney, Giuliani, even Thompson and Tancredo.

And since not everyone pays much attention to the news, a small number of people may be in the booth and go "Oh, I guess I still *can* vote for Romney!" so they do. Others are "die-hard" supporters who know but do not care that their candidate dropped out, or know and care but cannot bring themselves to vote for someone els (so essentially they place a "protest" vote -- much as many of us are committing to do by voting or writing in "Ron Paul" in November regardless of the ballots).

I can just see people saying: "Ron Paul 5% ?? Don't those idiots know he's not on either party's ticket?"

Why would Paul be included

Why would Paul be included anyway...just because he officially is still in the race? What purpose does it serve? It would only serve to make Paul look like an annoyance. He is better off letting it be.

Please

He may be an annoyance to you, but I love seeing him on the stage.

there is no Up Side for McSOB to debate

He can only lose by participating, and his handlers know that.

...since John McCain is the presumptive nominee in the MSM

Here's the only comment I've seen:
"CNN and the Republican Party of Ohio were schedule to have a Republican debate for February 28, 2008. However, it has been removed from the CNN debate schedule and it is unlikely that it will happen, since John McCain is the presumptive nominee in the mainstream media."

Source: Wikipedia

yes, really shocking news

One wonders whether they, or ABC etc. would schedule a debate if Huckabee and Paul fares better than McCain in Wisconsin etc. today? A brokered convention is something the media wants to avoid, but they have to admit that Huckabee surprises the pundits. Dr. Paul will also. They have been calling Huckabee also a longshot recently.

its not a debate its a forum

it was never a debate it was a forum where msnbc asked questions on the people spoke a candidate i think at a time.

There is no indication of this being cancelled.

Who told you this???

I read it was cancelled...

on wikipedia since McCain is the "presumptive" nominee. It was also taken off of campaign headquarters site.

?

I thought it was scheaduled for the 23rd following the austin rally?

I posted on this yesterday :)

It was canclled. BIG shocker.

I believe that Ron Paul was the only one that accepted.

God forbid that they should air a debate to let the country know that there are still *3* people running.
