Help Antiwar.com Survive

With 100,000 visitors per day, Antiwar.com is the most-visited libertarian site on the web. We update the news and views regarding war and peace every day of the year around the clock. Since 1995, Antiwar.com has been campaigning for a change in U.S. foreign policy, working to unite the antiwar forces around libertarian solutions. We don't get foundation money or other big-money subsidies. Our operating budget comes from our readers, with quarterly fund drives, usually lasting a week. Unfortunately, this quarter we didn't make our budget in a week and are struggling to make it. If we don't reach our budget by the end of the week, we have to look at laying off staff members.
I have been a political activist for 40 years, and Antiwar.com is the most cost-effective, energy-effective project I have been involved with. If you can see yourself clear to give some help, your money will go a long way toward peace and liberty. I apologize for the shameless self-promotion. ~ Eric Garris

It's an excellent site, but ...
... they're constantly pleading dire poverty from not meeting their self-imposed budget target, which includes a sizable increase each quarter for planned expansion. Their headquarters is on the estate of a dot.com millionaire. Their fundraising graphic is misleading, as they're not about to go "bankrupt" or off line.
The news-link aggregation service and the original commentary are both well worth your support, but they're not nearly as much on the edge as they say they are. When they're less needlessly and misleadingly alarmist about their condition, I may send them another contribution.
Your information is wrong
We haven't increased our fundraising goals in two years, in spite of additional staff. We did get a start several years ago from a millionaire (hardware, not dot-com), and our office was in his guest house, but we stopped getting any money from him four years ago and his "estate" is long-gone.
I would be happy to answer any specific questions or criticisms. The biggest self-criticism I have is the fact that we always spend hand-to-mouth and so, in fact, we are constantly on the edge.

Sitename is offputting
I was put off by the name at first, Antiwar.com, thinking it would be some Code Pink/Chomsky place (all heat and no light) but it's not like that at all. It's purely non-partisan as far as I can tell....
They have been one of the only places being fair to Ron Paul that I visit regularly.
"What does conservatism today stand for? It stands for war. It stands for power. It stands for spying, jailing without trial, torture, counterfeiting without limit, and lying from morning to night."

Ron Paul writes an occasional piece for anti-war.com. It was one of the very first places I discovered on line before the war began in Iraq that gave me the truth. They have expanded their coverage to all parts of the world now but when I discovered it, it was mostly the US.

"Rather than hector you about the need to donate to our current fundraising drive – which is, much to my dismay, moving into its second week – I am simply going to point out that it didn't used to take two weeks to make our goal. As recently as two fundraisers ago, we made it inside of a single week. Whether this is due to the steadily worsening economy or other factors such as election season, I won't venture to guess: I'll just say that we've been soldiering on to the best of our ability, in the face of a threatening shortfall in our income that could force us into major cutbacks – and even call the continued viability of Antiwar.com into serious question.
Please don't let this happen. We've been carrying the banner of peace and a noninterventionist foreign policy since 1996 – and now, of all times, is not the moment to falter. We simply must make our fundraising goal, which is why you need to make your contribution today."

I love Antiwar dot com
I gave them a credit card, they charge it $10 a month. I think we all should do the same.
Hey guys, its well worth it. Justin Riamondo has been all over these NeoCons from day one.
