After This Election, I am Leaving The GOP and I Let Them Know It
Below are the contact email addresses of many of the main characters of the GOP. I have let them know that due to the submergence of Ron Paul's message of the Constitution along with McCain on the road to a Republican nomination has lead me away from their party and I will be leaving the GOP for good after this election. Of course we need to still vote for Ron Paul.
The Libertarian party is calling us after the election is over and done.
Since the age of 18 I have been a soldier in their fight for what we thought was good, but the path they have taken the American people and us down is something that I do not agree with, I find it necessary to tell them accordingly. The Constitution has been trampled on and it is a direct result of the GOP Big Brother policies. I have had enough.
Their party is dying and it is worth politely telling them.

Democratic-Republican Party
Vote RON PAUL 2008
_____________
Who says there are two distinct major political party systems in this nation? Thomas Jefferson obviously didn't think so --
http://en.wikipedia.org/w...
It's a little early to be
It's a little early to be making a firm decision yet, but the topic is sure a good one...
On one hand, no third party candidate (Perot aside) has ever broken 2%, no? I think Ed Clark got over a million votes in 1980, but then again he didn't have the relative star power of RP (nor the history in Congress). Perot was a special case, because he didn't really build anything that lasted; he just spent a whole bunch of his own money. This makes the case for staying in the GOP.
On the other hand, if Ron doesn't get the GOP nod, McBane will get absolutely trounced by the Dems (which is what is planned anyhow, right?), and the resulting mess will open the door for one or more new parties to make their move. If RP then gets drafted by the LP/CP, he will pull at least 10 million plus in the general election. Of course we all now how bad things will be by then, and selling the public on new parties will be that much easier. So now we have a case for third/fourth/etc. parties.
On the third hand, let's say RP wins the GOP nod... Now we're golden!!! And once he's president he can switch to the LP or CP, right?
Anybody want to lend me a hand...?
**************************************
How to support RP's cause every day:
1. Don't use credit cards
2. Stamp your cash with RP stamp before spending
3. Take cash out of ATM, stamp, put back in bank
4. Explain to teller why you did #3
5. Repeat
Don't leave. We need you,
Don't leave. We need you, and everyone else for that matter. Don't leave the GOP...take over the GOP!
Not Leaving Yet
This is a threat to leave the GOP if things don't change. You have to wonder why this information on McCain has come to the table after a mass of emails to the GOP threatening to leave.
The deck is stacked so much against the LP.
Face it, bro. The two party system is here to keep other parties marginalized.
I have to agree unfortunately
Folks, we need to be realistic here. The Libertarian Party will NOT, by any stretch of the imagination, be a force in the political arena any time soon. The real way to change things is to do what we're doing with even greater effort. We MUST work within the Republican Party to enact change. Ron Paul would never have been in Congress so long outside of the Party.
3rd parties are 100% ineffectual. The system has made sure of that. The only option is to work from within the system and change it from the inside out. We're making headway rather quickly I think.
Reward the GOP?
Reward the GOP for what they've done to Ron Paul by staying? By supporting RINOs? That will only encourage the GOP to do more of the same.
The ONLY thing that could possibly turn around the GOP is if they knew they could not get our support unless they offer a real Constitutionalist. If we support their frauds and their party, we will keep getting more of the same (Bush, McCain) and they will NEVER have a reason to do otherwise.
I will support Constitution party or Libertarians from now on. Republicans only if I know they are Constitutionalist, and usually once you get past the local level, they are not.
I'd rather do right and lose than do wrong and win.
I don't think you understand
I don't think you understand what I meant. You don't have to vote for the rotten neo-cons. On the contrary, vote for whoever you want but to think that leaving the RP will accomplish a single thing is delusional. The Libertarian Party isn't going anywhere and never will. We have to be intelligent if we want to get anywhere.
all the more reason
This is so. All the more reason one doesn't join the so and so's who run the D's and R's. It's simple logic. If you want to end corruption you don't become Al Capone, you get rid of Al Capone.

Ron Should Leave The GOP...
...and he should abandon his bid for Congress.
Above all, he needs to recognize that he's just warming a seat in Washington.
If he left, he could have a far greater impact doing good works with our support OUTSIDE the system, just like Al Gore is doing (moving on has been especially kind to Al Gore).
I think Ron could be far more effective giving up his old job and taking advantage of his global appeal. Going back to Congress is a waste of the message and the messenger.
Now THAT would be a genuine REVOLUTION!!!
I Don't Know About That Just Yet
He has to continue in his path right now as do we. I am strictly talking about after the election. The seed has been planted and we need to see the outcome. If the outcome is not what Ron Paul needs, then we can move. And that was the point I was trying to provide. Notifying the GOP on a massive scale that we are displeased with their behavior and suggesting that if things don't come out in favor of Ron Paul and the GOP controlled media doesn't help our cause, then I am out,. Read the initial post carefully.
I agree with you 100%! The
I agree with you 100%! The republicans are beyond saving. The neocons will have it until the Republic is no more. Far better to expose them!
GOP Wants us GONE!
Um, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but when people say I'm leaving the GOP if Ron doesn't win, I cringe.
Thats EXACTLY what the neo-cons want. A failed Paul campaign, and then for everyone and all his supporters to leave the GOP
It seems quite obvious that their plans would be right back on track if we left.
Remember, we are a new force in the GOP. Lets take advantage of that. If Dr. Paul doesn't win the nomination, that should encourage us to recruit even more constitutionalists into the party, since there's a lack there of.
So please, if Dr. Paul looses, it's clearly our fault; and since the GOP is made up of ummm, People, we should work to replace the inefficient, with the efficient.
We are Ron Paul
No they want us to fall in line
If all the liberty minded republicans or Taft conservatives left the party than they would lose at least 25% of the party. If the party continues to embrace the McCain types the party is done. I am seriously considering the constitution party. It is the fastest groing party. Unfortunately for us we will likely be the USSA soon. A socialist state, and part of the world government. If McCain wins it will be worse than Obama. I know Obama will try and bring in the new new deal. He is quoting things Ayn Rand wrote that socialists would say. Regardless, if Obama wins than the Republican party will have to regroup and figure out why they lost. They will lose to - in the house and in the senate.
In the big scheme of things I don't think we will recover from the policies of recent years and another 4 years of the like. It hurts knowing that this generation has thrown away any chance of our kids knowing freedom and prosperity.
Constitution Party?
I'd read their positions a little more carefully. They sound like they promote the Constitution like McDonalds promotes healthy eating... sounds good, but it'll kill you in the end.
WE ARE RON PAUL

...fucked fucked up this page
You know what
They won't care. They are delusional in their belief that McCain can beat a Democrat this year. Ron Paul is the only Republican that could beat a Democrat in these times. The only good thing though is that we are becoming the new Republican Party and the future looks bright.

This is illogical. The GOP has been one of the two parties which have rigged the process against others. Therefore, it simply and obviously is illogical to decide to reform the system from within the GOP. Ain't happening. Didn't happen for the first 10 congressional terms of Rep. Paul. Indeed, during Paul's time in office the GOP went from merely corrupt to irredeemably corrupt.
There is NO logic in saying that you won't fight the corruption, and instead will join it, because to fight it is hopeless. That's exactly what is being said by those who suggest that joining or staying in the GOP is the best way to effect positive change.
Draft Ron Paul to run outside the GOP http://www.draftronpaul.c... . Let him know he's needed, that you'll continue to support the cause, but that you know that to keep on doing what he's been doing for 10 terms in congress just ain't making it.
When you keep doing what you've been doing and hoping for a different result, well, isn't that the definition of insanity? Yes, and that's the simple cold truth. He isn't going to reform the GOP and neither is anyone else.

After This Election
I'm done with all parties. I don't even think there should be "parties". It is a way to divide the people, not unite them. We are individuals. We should vote according to issues, not on party platforms.

Absolutely right.
This is not a time for party building...we've got to stop a wildly out of control government which is into nation building and which has squandered our blood and treasure. Two parties have done this, the GOP and the D's.
You don't reform corruption by becoming Al Capone...and that is what you are doing by trying, vainly, to reform the GOP.

If you leave, the neocons will be happy to see you go.
Dr. Paul has run as an independent before, and he learned that the process is so onerous for alternative parties, that it makes more sense to try to fix one of the major parties instead.
The Republicans are about to lose in a landslide. The last time that happened, when Carter destroyed Ford, it was an opportunity for the Republican party to get its act together and choose Ronald Reagan.
The same thing will happen this time, too. The party will want to know how they got beat so bad, and the answer is obvious: they tried to play the Socialists' game. What's the solution? Be Republicans again: choose candidates who will vote for small government, sound money, and a humble foreign policy.
The way have an effect is not to stream out of the Republican party when this election cycle is over, but to get everyone you can INTO the Republican party.
As for the Libertarians, anytime there's a Libertarian candidate who you support, then by all means vote for him.
-jcr
Yup... That does seem to be the goal.
I believe Dr. Paul intends for us to remain in the GOP to TAKE IT BACK! Then it will be OUR party again. If we leave it... Where do we go? The system is already slanted against third parties.
We need more recruits. New ideas and innovative ways of gathering more interest. Here is what I propose
http://www.youtube.com/wa...
Just read in the local newspaper....
this morning that the Oregon Republican Party is almost $300,000 in debt, and they are downsizing. I sent all of the Oregon GOP an email a couple of nights ago stating that if they don't organize around Dr. Paul, we are finished. I am trying to become a delegate in Oregon for Dr. Paul also. About a month ago I received a survey from the Party, and at the bottom it asks for a donation. I wrote all over the survey about the policies that I disagreed with as a conservative Republican, and then at the bottom noted that I already donated to the only TRUE conservative running for President-Dr. Ron Paul. I hope they removed me from their mailing list. I've been a registered R since I was 18 (23 years now), but I've always been Libertarian minded. It's my understanding that in Oregon, unless you are a registered R, you can't vote R for President. That is why I've stayed with the party for so long, but I am ready to bail. In local issues I mainly vote Constitution and Libertarian. The local and state R candidates sound more like D's every day, and it makes me sick. Their arguement is that we live in a liberal state-I don't buy it, just look at what Dr. Paul has had to endure.
Staying
It's MY party, and I'll cry if I want to.
GOP was stolen by neo-tards.
I want it back.
It still has name recognition. It still has a symbol (The Elephant)
I think it would be faster to fix the GOP, than to re-establish Libertarian party.
It's still established as a main party, and thats an important part of the battle.
I disagree.
"It's (GOP) still established as a main party, and thats an important part of the battle."
No, it's an important part of the problem.
Why are so many people arguing for us to stay aligned with the Republican party when they haven't shown the least bit of respect to Ron Paul supporters? If you think we need to rebuild the R party so that we can battle the Democrats then you're completely missing the point (imo).
I don't want to reform a party so that they can reap all of the undue benefits of a large membership just so we can be a force for the Democrats to contend with. Regardless of whether or not it could be done, we'll still have a 2 party system (essentially) and we'll still have this endless fighting over policy.
I want to drive as many people out of both parties so that the parties themselves lose their power. Let's all become Independents and urge everyone we convert to become one as well.
Aside from the unfair advantages the parties enjoy, what good reasons could there be to try to reform the Republican party?
Please tell me, because I don't see any. And until someone shows me that there is a good reason to stick with the GOP, I'm going back to Independent the day after the primary.
Why try? Are you seriously asking that question?
what good reasons could there be to try to reform the Republican party?
Two reasons:
1) the history of the Libertarian and Constitution parties. They've tried real hard, and hardly gotten anywhere, because of the bias against alternative parties.
2) bringing more people into the Republican party, especially if those people are RP supporters, doesn't just give them more numbers to point to. It brings in a new way of thinking, and people who are far more active and involved than the typical Mitt or Rudy supporter ever was.

Branding
Nike. Apple. Starbucks. Disney. Coke. Republican.
When a successful company sells their business, part of the purchase price includes all the "good will" that company name has engendered. The new owners of the company may suck big time, but because they still use the established name, people believe they're getting the same quality they had before, even if things aren't quite, well, as good as they were before. Yet they continue to purchase the familiar brand. That's because the brand name still means something to a LOT of people, regardless of the actual content.
Suppose that the Libertarian Party somehow became mangled and rotten through and through; they would still probably call themselves the "Libertarian Party" because brand marketing works, and the party would want to retain as many loyal "customers" as they ever had with that particular name. And while many in the LP would smell the coffee, there are plenty who would continue to stay with the party because, hey, it's the "Libertarian Party"!
The brand named "The Republican Party" is a long established name. It has actually changed quite dramatically over the many years of its existence (did I need to tell you that?), but notice that the brand "Republican" still means something to a LOT of people, regardless of the actual content.
Are you getting this?
I gave up my Libertarian membership specifically so I could support Ron Paul. I left a personally-preferred alternate brand name, in order to support and promote a product of actual substance, who happens to use the brand name of a "major" party that I don't personally care for. Clearly, I'm not the only one who has done this. While being registered as a Republican makes me nauseous, I recognize that the name is nothing more than a label.
We now have the opportunity to make that label mean something other than what it has meant in recent history. We have the power to restore it to its original intent. This is called rebranding. And when done with confidence and dedication, let me tell you: rebranding WORKS.
We have a great many supporters in this revolution, numbers that are growing every day. Strength in numbers, friends. "Join or Die", remember? So, we join together, throw all of our efforts *within* the Republican Party, and what happens to the brand?
The substance of it changes dramatically.
We don't have to change the name of the brand (the label). We don't want to.
Those who have been "customers" of the Republican brand will continue to "shop" Republican -- and they'll begin to notice a fresher taste about it, too.
However, when we retreat to our various corners (Libertarian, Constitutionalist, Decline To State, etc.), then our resources become scattered and impotent. All our accumulated aggregate power vanishes.
What I propose, and others have also proposed, is nothing short of a hostile takeover, but done in a very smooth and friendly manner, not unlike our delegate operation. Infiltrate. Smile and nod and chant the brand name. Change it from the inside.
This can be done. It's been done before. Just look at Ron Paul. The Republican(tm).
Branding: Enron. Bre-X. Neocon. Atari. Exxon.
Those who have been "customers" of the Republican brand are precisely the people who DO NOT WANT a new taste, and will actively, deviously, maliciously and intentionally act to keep it the same. Please witness the past 6 months. Good luck convincing a whole generation of trough-fed, porked up, big government hogs to go to the slaughter.
Please give us ONE example of how Ron Paul actually influenced the modern republican party IN ANY MEANINGFUL WAY....and he has been there how long?
Ron Paul is ostracized within his own party....why he stays is beyond be.
Don't ask me to make the same mistake.
Ron Paul hasn't had any impact on the R party...
"This can be done. It's been done before. Just look at Ron Paul."
You're making this statement as if Ron has single handedly transformed the Republican party in his image. The Republican party HATES Ron Paul! Am I the only one who understands this for Christ's sake?
The one bone of contention I have with Ron Paul is that he is loyal to a party that hates him. I know why he's doing it, because he has to. Well, WE don't have to. We have the opportunity to make a useful change in America. That is to remove the party bias from politics. Let's start an Independent revolution and make the parties have to fight for our votes again, instead of just taking them for granted.
What a wonderful world that would be, wouldn't it? And guess what? That's the world I'll be working towards. Not a world where we still have 2 parties fighting each other, keeping 3rd parties down, etc. Forget about how noble one of them is. It still isn't effecting real change.
Incorrect Focus
"This can be done. It's been done before. Just look at Ron Paul."
You're making this statement as if Ron has single handedly transformed the Republican party in his image.
---
Ah, you misunderstand me. I am not implying that Ron has single handedly transformed the Republican Party.
I _am_ implying that Ron has (virtually) single handedly transformed a great many people from eyes-glazed-over, shrug-and-surrender traditional voters into wide awake, smelling-freedom-for-the-first-time revolutionaries.
Once you have that first taste, there's no going back. And that's a force to be reckoned with. A considerable force, with the power to change the GOP from the inside out.
Listen to the rhetoric out there. How many candidates are suddenly jumping on Ron's ideas, even claiming them as their own? I would point to that as evidence of a very real force of impending change from the inside of the party. Not that the leaders of the party want it, hooo boy, no! But more and more Republicans (and even some Democrats) are looking into this "new" (meaning, 200+ year-old) way of thinking. As more of these people become involved in the official party, the more the landscape of the party itself evolves.
As to the Republican Party being noble? Only as noble as they act. Which, right now, ain't much.
Branding
Wasn't the Republican party created by Thomas Jefferson, our greatest President (my opinion)? He would be proud of what we are accomplishing in the GOP.
"The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy...You have to understand most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inert so hopelessly dependent on the system that they will fight to protect it." -- Morpheus
Perhaps Leaving The GOP and Democratic Party IS the Revolution
Who knows. Enough of Big Government.
If you leave them
we can't clean it out -- Ron Paul will win
We are trying to clean out the WHOLE SYSTEM
Not some arbitrary party totally removed from it's original foundations. Please remember the focus....this is a revolution to SAVE OUR COUNTRY, not some establishment within it.
Move The Revolution To "Post-Ron Paul" Status
Where do we impact things next? Ron Paul represents a low tax, pro-Constitution stance that the GOP no longer is willing to defend.
Let's move our clout into an area we can defend and win, post-Ron Paul.
I think Ron would approve.
The GOP is not a monolith.
Even if a majority of Republicans don't uphold their platform today, that's not a reason to abandon the effort.
The party has been radically realigned a few times before. Reagan did it once, and Gingrich almost accomplished the same thing.
-jcr
Just remember to vote RP beofre the exodus.
Too bad we have to stay in this festering pile of steaming crap so we can vote RP. The stench is well worth the potential outcome.
Love live the R3volution.
Of course. I voted for him
Of course. I voted for him in California, and I'll vote for him again in the general election.
JUST REMEMBER THE WRITE IN
All of US in all 50 states can still write him in during the casting of ballots and that abilitiy is there regardless of what party affiliation you are. Independent, Constitutionalist, Democrat, Republican, whatever. At the end of the day delegates matter first. After that the nomination or lack there of will mean nothing. We can always spread this message and I will fight unti l the winner is declared.
Just thought it was worth telling the GOP that I am done with them if things don't change.
I Don't Know About Other States, But...
... California write-in votes don't count unless the person being written in is registered to receive write-in votes. I don't know what this "registration" entails.
Other states may have similar laws.
Read the constitution folks
The states have these laws because you must have electors to go to the electoral college to vote for you. RP does not have electors in the various states (yet), and it is essentially impossible to run for president on the write-in.
It is however, a great way to throw away your vote in protest, which is what I intend to do. Or, possibly vote for WAR (Wayne Allyn Root).
CA Status?
Do we know whether RP is registered to receive write-in votes in CA?

I Feel The Same Way As You Do
Vote RON PAUL 2008
___________
If somehow (??) RON PAUL doesn't win this election // You guys like that, me saying somehow (??) -- when in reality we know what that somehow (??) is all about, don't we // But if RON PAUL doesn't win and MCCAIN is the GOP finalist -- I'm changing my Republican affiliation (longtime registered as it is -- almost 40 years now doing the voting thing) to INDEPENDENT.
When we say that RON PAUL is America's Only Hope -- Those aren't just words, they're fact. 'That's a Fact, Jack!' A little something from the movie Stripes for you that didn't understand.
No way am I voting for MCCAIN. I will lower my standards however and vote for OBAMA (not that anyone asked) but there again, if he isn't the finalist on the Democrat ticket (and HILLARY is) // then I'm simply not voting at all, the first time in a hell of a long time.
My choice remains RON PAUL but if he isn't selected as the GOP finalist then the GOP could care less about my vote or anyone else that had RON PAUL in mind to lead this country, that's the way I see it. That's very telling, for sure.
As it is (all of it) I am convinced that this two major party political system that we are so proud of here in this fine country of ours has morphed into nothing more than one GIANTIAC HOAX being played on the American People // a hoax where there is truly only one political party (whereby neither is truly Republican or Democrat today but instead something resembling a Dictatorship with a new face every couple of years). A gangster system whereby truth and justice and fairness only works in one direction -- THEIRS. We The People are actually We The Puppets and the new faces every couple of years are representative of those that truly pull the strings and not us, not anymore, not for many years now.
My continuing thoughts on this matter.
A vote for a one-worlder Democrat is a vote for McCain
Write in if necessary. I don't care if they don't count it or spit in your face. Don't compromise.
"We don't have to start a brand new revolution...All we have to do is restore the original Constitution." -Ron Paul
I second that motion
If I can't vote for Ron Paul I will write in his name and if I can't do that I will not vote at all. This is not a horse race, I will not vote for the person I think will win or the lesser of two evils.
"The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy...You have to understand most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inert so hopelessly dependent on the system that they will fight to protect it." -- Morpheus
if you can't vote for ron
if you can't vote for ron paul or write him in vote constitution party.. its a protest vote! just not voting is what has gotten to this sorry assed state that were in!
No Not Exactly The Same Thing
Vote RON PAUL 2008
___________
MCCAIN has been stated (with some reasonable belief behind it) to be a traitor to the United States while he was a POW -- Based upon what I've read and heard (video reports) this guy did exactly what those in the know claim he did. MCCAIN wants us to stay at war (any war will do) for the next 100 years or so.
I suppose I could go on but I would only make myself sick in that regard.
OBAMA is neither of those terrible things that MCCAIN is. Remember OBAMA is my second choice (my first remains RON PAUL) because he isn't any of those same things MCCAIN is. A real biggie (difference) is OBAMA is saying that MCCAIN is a dumb ass war monger (not his exact words, but close enough) and he intends on bringing our troops home ASAP // Nothing close to MCCAIN -- I am getting sick just writing that jerk's name.
That's me and my logic, you do what you feel is best for you.
OBAMA is just as bad as
OBAMA is just as bad as mccain.. he's a socialist.. steal money from the us citizens to give to others around the globe.. how you can vote for Ron Paul and then have that socialist commie bastard obama as your second choice is beyond me..... think ! obama and mccain are 1 in the same.. also you should look into the guy who says he smoked crack with obama and gave obama a blow job back in 1999. if that doesn't tell you something about obamas character then your a brainwashed moron. .. that guy is not lying either.. the only man to Vote for is RON PAUL.. write him in if you have to.. if you vote for obama just to go against mccian your an idiot and falling into the elites trap
