Governor Ron Paul?

With the outrage over the NAFTA Superhighway in Texas, maybe Ron Paul should run for governor?
Personally, I don't think it would make sense, since he's with the federal government and all...
I hope someone like Dr. Paul runs against Perry though after this NAFTA highway crap... not only for Texas, but the country as well...

Then Texas Should Secede
The US government would surely support a Texas bid for independence. We would be our own little Kosovo. LOL
His expertise and background
fits for him to serve in the federal government, not state governments. He would probably get too frustrated at the powerful federal government and lack of states rights to be governor.
LET US WAIT
LET US WAIT
Let us first wait
whether there is not a chance that Paul could be nominated. He has much more delegates than the media think, brokered convention a possibility and things on McCain can bring him down. If McCain is the nominee, I doubt whether he would get Perry as his VP, as Texas is a safe state for the GOP. I heard he would appoint another "maverick", not necessarily a conservative. Perry endorsed Giuliani at first and mentioned he has his disagreements with McCain when he endorsed McCan after Rudy gropped out. I fully agree, if Paul does not get the nomination (what makes you think McCain would have a chance to win?), he should compete with Perry at next election to unseat him, or otherwise a senator position. There are rumors that McCain may give up his senate seat with the race (if he is the nominee). In that case the governor should appoint a temorary senator fromt he same party, till election, and we should field a RP Republican then.
If Perry Is VP, Yes
It is bigger than him winning or losing. The people win when he is on the ballot whether it is local state or national.
I agree, which is why he
I agree, which is why he should not run as an independent for President. He needs to stay in it and speak at the National Convention. Give some kind of speech that not only keeps his base happy, but brings on board Republicans who have steered clear of his campaign. He can then run for the seat in 2010.
I think chances are good that Rick Perry will be McCain's running mate and if that is the case than there very well may be a special election [if McCain pulls it off] next winter, which make the timing perfect for a National Convention bump for Paul.
Extremism in the defense of Liberty is no vice.
