Ron Paul's WORST ENEMY

The MSM was near the top, probably #2. At the debates he had more opposition from the moderators than from any of the other candidates. That should NEVER happen. And I've documented some of the conservative Christian opposition he's received (http://wvcy.blogspot.com/). Yet, they might have been brought into the fold had it not been for Paul enemy #1.

His own party was his WORST enemy. They manipulated the vote in several States, the worst being Louisiana, when the other GOP candidates conspired (anybody want to deny that conspiracy?) to steal the State caucus from him. It was about as bad in Washington state where he won the most delegates, but both other candidates were reported as winners.

And remember back when the Michigan Top GOP, Saul Anuzis, tried to keep Dr. Paul out of their debate? Remember when Paul was kept out of a debate that included Guiliani, who lost to Paul in almost every state? Remember how they kept Paul out by setting the mark at 5%, then having to move it up to 15% when Paul's support grew?

Notice that the Democrats aren't running anybody to oppose him for his Congressional seat in Texas. They were conceding it to Dr. Paul. Then the GOP stepped in and recruited a neocon who had already told Ron Paul that he wouldn't run.

Not only that, the GOP went against Dr. Paul to their own harm. He was the only candidate that could've brought tens of THOUSANDS of NEW people into the GOP, especially YOUNG people. They would rather alienate the entire next generation than welcome them in by supporting Dr. Paul. Why would they not want a few hundred thousand Ron Paul Republicans in the GOP "Big Tent"? Didn't they think once they got them in, they had something to offer that would keep them in? Not only are they aborting their future, they would rather lose this election than give Rep. Paul a chance.

And there are some people who still think we need to try to salvage the GOP. Why not try to salvage the Democrats, the KKK, the Nazis, or the Mafia? Chances are at least as good for success.

I told people ten years ago that if they supported Bush, they were sending the GOP a message that Bush was acceptable and they would never get a better candidate because they are telling the GOP they like the one they got. The next guy would probably be even worse. Well, the next guy is McCain. With prophecy like that, I could put the Psychic Friends Network out of business.

I say the same thing now. To work with the GOP is telling them you are fine with McCain - and you will get as bad, or worse, next time.

The ONLY chance we have to force the GOP to ever offer a truly Constitutional candidate is to endeavor to cost them the election every time they don't. We can't fear Obama or Hillary (or Kerry/Gore/Clinton) so much that we settle for McCain (or Bush last time). There is no significant difference between them.

Rewarding the GOP for giving us McCain is foolish and suicidal. We need to force the suicide of the GOP instead.

So what if we lose some elections. We're losing them anyway when we settle for lesser evils. I'd rather vote for right and lose than vote for wrong and win.

the two party system....

was created to keep the country divided-us against them. It keeps us sheep divided (divide and conquer) so that we don't band toghether and overthrow the government. This is why we need to take back the Republican party as Dr. Paul states, and KICK ASS! Run for office, become a delegate, anything to turn things around. A 3rd party will get us nowhere, because of the "us against them" mentality. TAKE BACK THE REPUBLICAN PARTY!!!!!!!

I'm Pretty Sure You're Right In What You Say

Vote RON PAUL 2008
___________
We are our own worst enemy. Look right here in the forum, some of us attack and ask for FLAGS just because they don't agree with a certain post, a certain subject (one such comes to mind but I will not mention it right now) // we are a mixture, a cross-section of supporters, some even come from across the oceans BUT that should be a good thing -- all of it. I mean the hell of it is some of us can't even seem to get organized as to the what and when the March On Washington that Dr. PAUL has encouraged us to seriously consider. And I believe that just might be a 'key word' in why we are our own worst enemy -- organization, or lack of it to be more precise.

RON PAUL is certainly our leader, no question about that, but reflecting back to that diverse mixture that we are, each at times seem to have a voice that would have all others believe what they say is for the best interest of the group, when the reality of it is the only voice that should really count here is Dr. PAUL's. He's the man! He's America's Only Hope!

Now all that said (by me) and as diverse and disorganized as we are -- we still do damn outstanding. Thinking of all the $$ we donated is one such example. Thinking of where Dr. PAUL is today (first there was 11, now there is 3) speaks to the majority of us getting and understanding his message -- not all of which are participants in this forum, of course.

You listed MSM as enemy #2 when I believe it alone has been the major hinderance in RON PAUL and his message receiving the piss-poor recognition he has. And yet we (our own worse enemy) survive that piss-poor treatment and battle on, don't we.

I admit that there has been a time or two (hate to say the two part, but it's true) that I nearly lost faith in Dr PAUL and his message. Discouraged, frustratred -- that sort of thing. That's my shortcoming, something I have to deal with, but for whatever it's worth in telling you this -- I bounce back each time I listen to the man and hear what he has to say. No other candidate even comes close to being worthy of the job he seeks -- If he is not elected (it will be because of the MSM's biased involvement in this election) and not because we are our own worse enemy.

My thoughts.

I tend to agree and believe

truly long-term thinking lies in coalition-building like Reagan built. I don't care what the coalition is called and if it resides within the GOP or not, but Small Government is about to get millions more friends thanks to The Fed, the Iraq War, and the entitlement crisis.

Well what is OUR worst enemy?

This is a WE THE PEOPLE revolution.. isn't it? Sitting back and watching our numbers diminish seems to be OUR worst enemy.

So lets keep it movin and GROW our numbers..

Here's the plan
www.RingsideRevolution.co...

Our worst enemy is the GOP

Our worst enemy is the GOP as well.

This is a liberty movement, and the leadership of the Republican Party is squarely opposed to the concepts of Liberty.

As long as the RP Revolution seemed to be gaining momentum, there was high hope that the GOP could be seized by its elephant trunk and led away from tyranny and fascism.

Now that McCain is the front runner, however--and despite all the happy talk about winning a brokered convention--the growing feeling is that we have lost the fight. It doesn't mean we've lost the movement--just that the Republican Strategy failed.

This is why we need to take our movement out of the GOP, and into the Libertarian Party where it belongs.

enemy # 1

With anti war democrats voting at a rate of 14 to 8, how does the G O P conclude that pro war, John McCain, would have any chance to win against any democrat? The obvious answer is they don't. The chosen one from the beginning, was and still is, Hillary C.and we constitutional conservatives have been sold out by the neocons who prefer her to Ron Paul.
Forget the neocon controlled M S M and what's left of the Grand Old Party, we are on our own. My personal opinion, the only reason that the Clintons haven't destroyed the Obama train is that he's been stealing more of the democratic vote from Ron Paul than from Hillary C.,
In spite of the Orwellian news to the contrary, we are winning and growing in numbers hourly so keep the faith. Who do you know that you haven't talked up Ron Paul to? Give them a call.

I thought it was understood

I thought it was understood that there is no difference between parties, it's all just a game and this game starts with selecting the winner before the game begins. McCain is the easiest one to beat, that's why he is selected. They wanted Obama, thats why they put Hillary up there, knowing she and bill had so much baggage that even Dems would have a hard time voting for her.

Obama was selected in 2004. Why would an unknown state senator from Ill get a speakers slot at the convention if something wasn't up? He won his Senate seat in Washington after that convention and the rousing speach he
gave.

Everyone needs to stop thinking parties here begin to see the game for what it is. It's hard to see it coming. They fooled me into thinking they really wanted Hillary, until all of a sudden, in spite of the fact that Obama has no record to run on, no plan, he started winning state after state. Thats when I slapped my forehead and things started falling into place.

Understood

They are using Obama to make it look like a race because they can't just say "it's the filly by a mile" but you are right about the party system, there is only one party, the illusion party.

McCain will lose

By the largest margin in recent history. Then they will get it. Maybe.

What people are saying is

Get involved locally in the GOP and use the infrastructure.

No one is suggesting that you VOTE for GOP candidates that are unacceptable. It makes more sense to take over the existing infrastructure and leadership. Which can be done after a resounding defeat and perhaps another in 2 years.

So Give Them

your time, your toil, your money, your support, and then bend over in four years when they betray you. I GUARANTEE that's what will happen.

How's That Been Working For Ya?

over the past 50 years? What has working within the GOP accomplished in all that time? You think we can do in TWO years what we couldn't do in 50?

It will just be two years of your life wasted.

Votes

I still believe that Dr. Paul should have won N.H., and many other states. If there was a paper trail, I am sure he would be the front runner. But because, despite all the proof of the voting machines 's l"ack of security", that is why the number he has is nothing near reality. Having by far the biggest online support, which, contrary to MSM myth, that they have to turn them into votes, I believe that all the onliners would vote with their family and friends. So, by adding the online community, he should be way beyond the actual figures. Did any of you onliners not vote? Of course you did. And if 70% or more of the Americans want the end of war, the actual front runner is Mcain??? A little common sense please. This election is 100% rigged against Ron Paul. They would rather have anybody, Right or Left, no difference for them, as long as they can control them. So Dr. Paul has a monumental task, fighting the Media, the establishment, fighting his own Party, and the Left, and that is just the tip of the iceberg. So, do all you can to help Ron fight all these sides, that want him out of a position to stop their empirical ambitions. They want war, he want peace and freedom. You do what is necessary, cause the law is on your side. Use your Constitution.

wish America would have taken forefather's advice

"Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost." John Quincy Adams

Too bad public schools did not embed this into our spongy little heads over the past 200 years.

Exactly. We must vote for Pres. the way RP votes in

Congress. Vote for what is right and what you believe in, regardless of what everyone else is doing. It is the only honorable thing to do.

I'm NEVER voting for the

I'm NEVER voting for the lesser of two evils again! I'm voting my conscience.... I'm WRITING in Ron Paul if I have to! But I know this is not over till it's over.... We have to keep going till September.

"tl sept.... and beyond!!!

We are not free if we aren't willing to defend Liberty, Patriot4Paul.

The GOP encouraged the media blackout too

In retrospect, you can see how this all unfolded. Again, I think a savy, professional campaign organization would have anticipated this, and turned the whole episode into a positive force, but as we all know, we didn't get that at all. I'm not totally convinced that insiders in Ron Paul's campaign didn't "go along for the ride" with the GOP. I'm personally through with the GOP. This dog ain't returning to the vomit.

Wouldn't it be great to usher in the new, viable party: The Ron Paul Party......in all the world of politics, there has never been an individual who has steadfastly held firm to the principles of the US Constitution, and for rightous government in general. Many times a loner in Congress, and often ridiculed for his views, which everybody pretty much agrees are accurate, but just won't acknowledge it. A new party should bear his name.....we owe him that much.

The Ron Paul school of the Prophets?

I see many posts from people here who have great prophetic insight, you especially , TenoG. It will be sorely needed in the days to come, but the leader of it has to be Ron Paul. He has shown great prophetic insight ever since he entered the House.

Libera me, let the truth break, what my fears make--Leslie Phillips

true,

spoken like a true prophet indeed. The problem probably "started" with reagan's compromise appointment of George H Bush as running mate, afetr promising he would not. The Rockefellar faction has taken control of the GOP. What is needed is a new coalition of conservative (Goldwater) Republicans, Independents and anti-war, non-interference Democrats in a new GOP and the "neocons' booted back tot he Democrats, where they belong.

We will have to see whether McCain will really make it to the nominee, with the newest NYT story and possibly more to follow. In case he becomes the GOP nominee, simply abstain form voting, or write -in for Paul and wait till the GOP defeat: the neocons in the gOP will loose a lot of credibility then and GOP would need soalsearching, which is ideal time for Dr. Paul to take control of the GOP and prepare for mid-term elections to regain control of House and Senate.

The best way to protest, if RP is not on the ballot, is to

write him in. Lew Moore said in that training video the other night that no one would complain if we wrote him in, if that's what our consciences tell us is the right thing to do, and I know for me it's the only thing to do. This will show the GOP what could have been...not that they care, I think they are resigned to losing. Here is what "DeepThroat" on RP forums told me the other day, about how McShame ended up being the presumtive nominee:

"Understand what has happened.

For the past 2 years, polls have shown that Rudy was the only Republican candidate that consistently beat Hillary. He was the favorite.

At least one state that I'm aware of, changed its rules to make the state a winner take all, thinking that they would throw all the delegates to Rudy.

But a funny thing happened on the way to the voting poll. Rudy ran a terrible campaign and got zip.

Days before Super Tuesday, where his sure to win states such as NJ and NY were to vote in their primary, Rudy dropped out. His ego could not bear a possible loss in his home states. Most jumped on board with McCain. He was more recognizable than Romney and a military man, former POW. This is how the average voter thinks.

Once a little time passed and people were able to catch their breath, people became angry and cast their anti-McCain votes in the recent primaries, hence Huckabee gaining delegates.

McCain won the delegates that were intended for Rudy. Built momentum. Romney shut his purse strings and "suspended" his campaign and the rest is history.

The RNC now has to live with the monster they helped to create.

They were thinking this would be a Rudy vs Hillary race.

Looks like a McCain vs Obama, unless of course, we take over the convention."

A MUST...write in Ron Paul...attn those who would vote Obama?

"Lew Moore said in that training video the other night that no one would complain if we wrote him in, if that's what our consciences tell us is the right thing to do, and I know for me it's the only thing to do. This will show the GOP what could have been..."

Please do NOT betray the r3VOLution and vote Obama.

Ron Paul can beat Obama

You got that right!

"His own party was his WORST enemy."

Yes they fought him every step he took. And now they are fighting to take his house seat away. As one who feels third parties is a waste (I did that for 20 years), trying to make inroads in the republican party (democrat lite), will prove to be very difficult. But then the GOP is losing members and needs to find a way to bring new members in.
What I find ironic is that RP, who is a small government, pro constituionalist is continually portrayed as an outsider in the GOP party. Yet the GOP nevers questions the RINOS such as Specter, Chaffe, Lindsey Graham, Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, Chria Shays, Rudy and George Bush. The RINOs are the clear outsiders, but you would never know.

You forgot to mention Rick Perry

Rick Perry, governor of Texas went on record at the republican straw poll as saying he was sorry there was no one from Texas running for president. (True, Ron Paul is originally from Pennsylvania, but he'd been living in Texas for decades.) Perry went on to endorse cross-dresser Rudy Julie Annie and y'all know how far that went. Perry is another Bush wannabe. I wouldn't be surprised if McCain moves for him to be vice-president. He really needs someone younger-looking to be his veep, so I think it would be silly to have Lieberman in that role.

Thats why I am getting

involved in the GOP. I will be their worst nightmare in a very positive way. Ron Paul wants us to become involved in our Republican party despite the treatment. He is a man of integrity and courage which inspires me. Our party needs to be re-educated in what is important to the American people and their own platform.

Apathy and Helplessness

Apathy and Helplessness are the revolution's biggest enemies. Perhaps the MSM and the GOP are the biggest enemies for the Ron Paul campaign to become president but apathy and helplessness are what could kill this revolution.

The GOP party may be the enemy, but it's easy to change. Many in the party are conservative and agree with us on most issues. The police-the-world mentality is all we need to overcome. If tens of thousands of us start showing up and participating in our local GOP meetings, we can make a difference. And one thing I've realized is that going to these meetings is a great way to learn about stuff going on locally that I used to be ignorant of.

Even if Ron Paul became president we must be prepared to be vigilant for our lifetime. For example, Jefferson got rid of the central bank and it came back. Jackson got rid of the central bank and it came back. Lincoln got rid of the central bank and it came back. We've got to remain vigilant people. We've got to teach our children about this stuff so that they won't forget. And we've got to tell them to tell their friends and our grandchildren.

Apathy and Helplessness

oops... repost

Should we really be so

Should we really be so surprised that the party that touts "family values" and "American patriotism" is actually crooked and corrupt to the core? So are the Democrats, to be sure, but at least they don't elevate themselves on a phony moral pedestal like the Republicans do as they trumpet their status as the defenders of America's moral majority.

You should mail your excellent comments to Rush, Hannity, Ingraham, Coulter, and any of the others that have been bemoaning the GOP predicament. No way in god's name should this have happened.

Anyone Who Wants

to send my comments along elsewhere is welcome to. Use my name if you want.

Too True!

You've got that right TenoG.

I wonder if there is any way to separate traditional Republicans from the Neo Cons who seem to have such strong control over it now?

because that

He must run third party!

E-publicans

Maybe we are a new offshoot.
It's a shame we keep getting pushed to the corner by money grubbing bullies that have nothing to do with what the party is supposed to be about.

What a disservice to the country. And it's pretty obvious where the votes are going. We lost a lot of the new blood to Obama. I think it shows in the turnout. The Dem numbers are SO MUCH larger.
In those differences, are thousands of votes that should have gone our way.

Very insightful post by the way.

Well said Teno!!!!

The next time the Republican National Committee calls begging for money, I am going to say "After the way the Republican Party has treated Ron Paul? NO WAY!"

The Republican Party is sick and dieing. Nominating Ron Paul would invigorate the party and its people like nothing else could.
