Keating 5, Viet Nam Vets who say McCain sold them out for political favors, crummy way he treated first wife, bimbo eruptions, bad temper, but guess what, when he clinched the nomination, all that will get glossed over.....just like Bush snorting coke, and not showing up for National Guard.......these neocons can cover up almost anything.

that this a non story. There is smoke but no fire. This will have not effect on McCain. CNN is actually claiming that because it was the NYT this will actually bring republicans together behind McCain.

The latest scandal, known in December, is just an appetizer. Once his spotty service record (so I have been led to believe) that will add to McCain's problems.

Still a long road to the convention and quite a bit will happen. That is in September and it's only February now.

I don't know how many remember this, but we knew it was coming. McCain sent his lawyers to the NYT back in January to block them from releasing this story prior to the NH primary. We have always known the NYT had something that had McCain scared.

Now comes the ultimate hypocrisy of the Republicans. How many will begin preaching about forgiveness? We should impeach a President for getting a little nookie from a homely intern, but carrying on an ongoing affair with a lobbyist just shy of half your age (32 and 63) is a smear by the leftist media.

Remember also that the story is that McCain had ANOTHER affair. He filed for and received an uncontested divorce from his first wife in 1980 and married his current wife the next month. How can you even plan a wedding in a month? His kids refused to even attend the wedding. He was able to find a great groomsman on short notice in Gary (monkey business) Hart.

...which turned out to be TRUE!

And now they are trying to destroy him. Maybe this will help Huck and force a brokered convention. Then we move in and take back the party. Did anyone else notice that McStain began his comeback immediately after Kissinger endorsed him? Confirms all the talk about the Bilderbergers doesn't it?

why did they sit on it until now, they have known about it for months.
I believe it is an attempt by the liberal media to simply propel the democrats into office.
I really don't see it having much effect on McCain with the republicans, they already refuse to pay attention to all the red flags concerning him. immigration for one.

that the things WE care about, the economy, taxes, soveriegnty, illegals, the war, are the reasons we don't like McCain. Yet a story comes out about something far less important and suddenly it's front page news. Maybe Paul is a genuis afterall. Maybe the things OTHER people care about are the things that will doom him.

now the Lush Limbaugh is saying that it is a Times conspiracy. I really do feel this was put out there so that the sheeple will fall in line and support McInsane. For all the talk that Lush did to make a big deal out of "NOT" supporting Insane, you would have thought he would have been jumping all over this singing the praises of the Huckster and why Insane should not be the President. So much for voting for Hillary I guess?

Of more interest is the trouble with the FEC chairman who says McCain can't drop out of the matching funds program until he proves he didn't use the promise of public funds as collateral for the loan that kept him going while we were breaking fundraising records.

I don't know that it's a real scandal, but it will be in headlines for weeks because the FEC is 4 short of a quorum, so now the entire legislature can have a field day pointing fingers and trying to fill the quorum so there can be a ruling. All the politicians will pile on.

McCain may, if the ruling goes against him, have no more money to spend. If he continues to raise and spend -- but how can he with this cloud over him? Nobody wants to give money to someone who can't be trusted with it, or who looks like they can't win.

That said, I don't think this is the biggest scandal likely to come out, real or imagined. McCain likes to fight and he makes more enemies than a politician should.

Whatever happened to Larry Flynt? A few months ago he said he had some really bad stuff on a couple of republican presidential candidates. Is that ever going to come out? Or was the dirt on somebody who has already dropped?
