Its not a whole lot different than Reagan- he gave great speeches, but not a lot of details.
Lets face it, folks, the guy with the most charisma ALWAYS wins the general election, going back at least 4 decades.
Hence, McCain is irrelevant- whether he cheated on his wife (again) won't matter, he's going to get steam rollered. McCain is the "Bob Dole" of his day...

I used to think so...
and I was certainly not supportive of Ron in his day, I'll admit. He was, or could be, as charismatic as JFK, and Barack (Clinton, while a regular guy, was a piker compared to RR). Beneath that polished exterior was a fundamentally sound message, by and large. Only now am I appreciating it more. As with any pol, you have to peel back a few layers to see the meat of the message.
And I don't like Barack's.

Such a bright guy. Full of the energy and optimism of inexperience and mis-guidance, it's sad to see that's he's been sold the populist bill of goods. The mentality that Government can fix everything, can provide for everyone, make everyone feel good about themselves. That those who are our 'oppressors' - big business, corporate interests, the 'rich' - can be dealt with by the guiding hand of Government! That wealth, a static quantity, can and should be 'redistributed'.
Would that he had read Ludwig von Mises, or Ayn Rand, or Adam Smith, when he was young, instead whatever passes for intellectual reading these days. What a great man he truly would have become.
Just remember
whoever ends up POTUS will only be a puppet with the exception of Dr. P

I will give obama one thing. He is a moving public speaker. Can we all remember who else was a great public speaker? HITLER! He moved an entire nation into enslaving and killing people! I find Obama to be very superficial and unanimated. He also has an elitist sense of entitlement, there is nothing blue collar about him.
Just like Deepak Chopra.
He sounds good while he's talking, but when it's over you quickly realize that there was no substance in his speech.

Question
Obviously the Ron Paul agenda is now to get the revolution candidates into Congress because the chances may be slim for Dr Paul and I agree IF Dr Paul does not win the Republican nomination then his statement on focusing on getting like minded candidates into Congress may actually be extremely important is enough for me to accept.
But my concern right now is IF, Dr Paul is not the nominee, then who would be the better President? Warmonger McCain who will keep us in Iraq forever, enjoy starting new wars and knows nothing about fixing the economy and could care less, OR Hillary Clinton who would be another term of NAFTA, socialism etc etc. OR Obama who Dr Paul even said himself stands pretty close to his positions on war, etc.
I am an Independent and I chose to vote Republican ONLY because of Dr Paul BUT there is no way in hell that I will vote for McCain who will keep us in not only Iraq but has already warned us of more wars. Only a fool would vote for McCain because he is the anointed one by the GOP because this country can never recover if billions and billions of dollars are spent on wars all over the world.
After watching the debate tonight, I will vote for Obama if he wins the Democratic nominee because the only thing that I disagree with him on is illegal immigration and I don't give a darn if ANY GOP fanatic tells me that he is wrong because as far as I'm concerned, the GOP is the one that threw obstacles everywhere in front of Dr Paul because he is a true Conservative instead of the neo-con that they want and anyone that supports the GOP now does NOT care about the American middleclass, only their neo-con party.
So if Dr Paul wants to believe that the true conservative party is still alive and he wants to remain in it then I respect that but in my own mind, the true conservative party is dead and the neo-cons are alive and well and I will NOT write in Dr Paul's name and allow McCain to win and destroy this country by war.
What if
Obama is not the democrat's nominee and Hillary is? Are you going to vote for her because she's the nominee and because she'll "probably win"? Sounds like you ought to be at the race track instead of participating in a serious discussion of policy positions.
And if you have supported Dr. Paul, but think the only thing you disagree with Obama about is immigration, then you really have no idea where Dr. Paul stands and are just here to spout off, because anyone will tell you that Dr. Paul and Barack Obama are at exact polar opposites of the political and philosophical spectrum.
If you don't know this by now, you probably do belong with the Obama supporters.
Say, he sure does sound good when he says nothing for 15 or 20 minutes at a time, eh? But by all means, vote for him. You'll be quite satisfied in a few years when the country goes bankrupt financing his elaborate liberal socialist agenda.
I can not believe my eyes
A president is the commander and chief and only has the ability to do one thing. Bring our troops home from all over the world or leave them there. Congress has the power to determine everything else, trade, the economy, the budget declaring war etc.
So if you were to have a choice of electing McCain, Hillary or Obama for President would you chose a President that would probably bring our troops home from Iraq and use that money for our own country or would you vote for McCain who will continue the war in Iraq and keep spending billions and billions of dollars overseas that could be used to solve our problems at home and who has already stated that there will be more wars.
If you say McCain then you are totally against what Dr Paul stands for which is ending the war and bringing our troops home, saving billions of dollars and solving our economic problems. Dr Paul and McCain are totally opposite on positions in comparison to Hillary and Obama. If you decide that McCain, who is both a neo-con warmonger and partly liberal is the best choice then you have learned nothing from Dr Paul and be ready for 4 more years of Bush's policies and the draft.
You can say whatever you want about me but if Dr Paul doesn't win the nomination then I will vote for ANYONE other than McCain because McCain is insane. You can vote for anyone you want and don't tell me who to vote for.

I am so sick and tired of others determining my future and my childrens future because they are such fools. Dr Paul already knows that he won't win and is working on his Congressional seat and also trying to get likeminded individuals into office in Congress.
Ask Dr Paul if he wants you to write in his name for President and let others decide who will be our next president or if he wants you to vote for someone that is closer to his positions. The youth of our country is our future but if our youth is not educated on the candidates then they are the destructors of their own futures. I have known the American dream but I am also a realist and know that our president has only so much power and our Congress has more. We want a Presidential candidate that will end the Iraq war and we want a Ron Paul Congress. Grow up, look at the candidates remaining and vote for who will end the war.

If you vote for Obama, McCain or Clinton, you will be voting to harm this country. There is no way to predict which of the 3 would do the most or the least harm. Based on the 2000 campaign, I thought Bush was the lesser of 2 evils. I still didn't vote for him but I'm also happy to say I didn't vote for Gore either. Who knows, as unlikely as it seems, Gore could have been worse than Bush. I will never vote for someone I wouldn't want to be President and I suggest everyone think that way.
