flying from seattle

I HATE road trips. 4 days on a plane seems like a nightmare to me. I would rather fly and arrive in 6 hours (adding time at the airport). I will be staying with friends in Baltimore and Virginia.

This is our family vacation this year. I plan on taking the kid to see the sights in DC. We are bringing our 6 year old to DC. I am still undecided about the march. She loves Ron Paul and wants to go. I am concerned about violence.

But I remember when RP came to town and we went to see him without her. She was so angry when she got home from school. The other day was President's Day and she called it Ron Paul day!!

I've got it easy

1 1/2 hours south on I-95. Anybody want to caravan from MD/DE/PA/NJ?

if you have enough folks

try and charter a bus

That's an idea i overlooked.

REAL ID

Homeland Security statutes may forbid you passage on Amtrak after the 1st of May, so you better make sure you have your "papers" in order if you should choose rail. Being subject to the indignity of the searches at airports is enough to put me off enough to offset the time saved flying. Rolling down the highways is the best way to see Amerika anyway, and about as quick as rail. Buses, vans, and carpools of RP decorated vehicles flooding the capital State. Sounds like good times.
We should all have big rallies in our cities, too. April 15th - Tax Protest Day. General STRIKE ! We've got Centennial Park in mind here in Atlanta, so y'all c'mon.

Long live the Revolution ! !

Go Ron Paul ! ! !

Question

Fortune Favors the Bold

Wasn't the Real ID implementation delayed untill 2011? I think Chertoff said this was the case because too many states had passed anti-REALID legislation and he wanted more time to sell the program.

Planning to drive

from Sacramento, CA. Would love to caravan if possible. I tried to see if others in my meetup groups wanted to charter a bus, but no takers. I've never been cross-country, so I'm looking forward to packing up the mini-van and heading out to see this fine land of ours!

caravans: large organised ones and small spontanious ones

I believe the turnout is going to be so big that caravans will happen spontaneously on every road leading to D.C. It's really going to be a supercharged event. I'm really looking forword to it. We need to identify ourselves as supporters of ron paul and the constitution. I'm talking banners, large signs, flags etc.

i have relatives

in pennsylvania and massachussets so i will be making a huge vacation trip out of it. i will be driving from iowa to penn to washington dc to mass then back home, camping all the way. i might consider taking a daytrip bus from penn to dc though so i wont have to deal with parking and driving in insane traffic. i think every one should think of getting a bus just outside of dc maybe talk to the meetup groups in the area and see if they are chartering a bus or a bunch of buses.

Well

Fortune Favors the Bold

Perhaps some supporters in the Maryland and Virginia areas would be willing to put people up?

Plan on flying

but someone in my meetup group posted a link to Amtrak where you can get group rates for 20 more people.

Gonna look into this soon.

where are we going to park?

I'm serious

DC has an ample rail system.

DC has an ample rail system. You can park someplace nice like Alexandria and ride the rail in. If you fly into Dulles the rail system goes threw there too. When i lived there i rode a motorcycle mostly to and from the transit stations.

A parking problem may be a good thing.

It would add to the visibility of the march and provide yet another angle for the media to cover. If there is literally nowhere to park in the city, people will be asking questions. It would bring the city to a standstill and everyone would be forced to notice the masses of people marching for freedom.

Haven't decided yet.

We live in Oregon, and we are weighing all our options. Joining the convoy would be super fun, but flying would allow us to spend more time in DC, this will be our first time there. I am super excited however we get there!

driving from Idaho

It will be our vacation for the summer!

Plane

I live in Oregon and I plan on flying to DC. It will be expensive yes, but I can't afford to be off work that long to do a road trip. Flying is actually more cost effective for me. Southwest Airlines has some of the best rates and gets great reviews amongst all the other airlines.

Plus, I will be using my rebate check to cover most of the cost. I don't like how the government is trying to bribe us all, but if they're sending me the money, I might as well put it towards this movement... They are basically paying me to help overtake them via the Ron Paul Revolution.

I'll be driving...

from Arkansas. I bet the Train trip from Washington state would be cool. People I know swear by trains.

Driving there could be awesome

if there was a whole convoy to join. It would be a party on the road and lots of people to meet along the way.

Trains are a cool way but a roadtrip would remembered forever!

Beam yourself if that works... the more the merrier!
"It does not take a majority to prevail ... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." - Samuel Adams

You don't think a couple

You don't think a couple hundred Paulites getting on a train to DC picking up other Paulites on the way would be memorable?

Image

I'm not sure I like the image that conjures in my mind - FEMA camps, etc. I sure wouldn't want to reinforce that image in the collective mind of our totalitarian government.

Besides, when you ride a train like that all you see is the poverty and destitution in our country. They take you through old mill areas and factory areas. Its full of litter, garbage, abandoned cars and trains, and so many homeless peoples' homes that its like viewing a foreign country. I rode Amtrak from VT to Philadelphia. It wasn't exactly the best scenery.

Not as far as that...

i'll walk if i have to, but since i'm in PA i'll be drivin'.
