FEC Poses Fresh Problem for McCain
From the Washinton Post's Blog
By Matthew Mosk
Just when things seem as though they couldn't get worse for Arizona Sen. John McCain comes a letter from the Federal Election Commission, alerting him to the possibility that he may not be able to withdraw from the presidential public financing system.
McCain applied to be certified for federal matching money last year, when his campaign was running on fumes. But unlike former North Carolina senator John Edwards, McCain never actually took the federal funds. He was merely preserving that option. Once his campaign started to take off, he wrote to the FEC requesting to withdraw from the program.
The reply from the FEC (PDF), dated Feb. 19 and released by the FEC today, will almost certainly come as a shock to the campaign, which assumed McCain had withdrawn from the public system two weeks ago and was now free to spend money without regard to federal limits.

****Ron Paul can still win
All the delegates that are already pledged to Mitt Romney or any other candidates up until now are required by the national republican party rules to cast their first vote during the national convention for that candidate (that has dropped out).
So if McCain does not win enough delegates to get the nomination of the first ballot then on the second ballot the delegates are free to change and vote for anyone else they want.
...........................................................................................................
We want a 2nd ballot so delegates can vote for Ron Paul.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This nomination process is not over and we still have 6 months to continue to educate delegates and the public as to who Ron Paul is.
Let's write to the local media in our area and say something like:
A couple of hundred thousand Ron Paul supporters have donated to his campaign and he has millions of dollars to advertise with.
We are not stupid and we have noticed that there is a national media blackout of his campaign. I like Ron Paul, he is my favorite presidential candidate.
I am sure you do not like him. But why?
Is it because he Been elected to congress for 10 terms and has never voted to raise taxes?
Is it because he never voted for an unbalanced budget?
Is it because he never voted to raise congressional pay?
Is it because he has never voted to let the government tap our phones without a court order,?
Is it because he opposes secret courts?, secret prisons?, secret arrests? and opposes Torture?
Is it because he still believes in the U.S. Constitution and The Bill of Rights?
Could you help me understand why you do not like Ron Paul?
We would like to know ?? "Are you participating in the official national media blackout,
or are you willing to put out press releases from the Ron Paul campaign?
Ron Paul is our favorite presidential candidate and we would like you to give him as much media coverage as you are giving the 4 candidates that believe the opposite of him...you know .....Hillary, .....Obama, .....McCain, and ......Huckabee.
We are not asking for more coverage than they get but equal coverage.
If we do a couple more money bombs Ron Paul will spend the money with who?? The Blackout Media????? Why?? someone will earn those advertising dollars ???? what media ???? someone that sells advertising will "deserve" thousands, or hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars. Could it be you???
We are giving to Ron Paul, we like Ron Paul???. Do you like money?? do you like money enough to not participate in the media blackout????
FEC is Unconstitutional
I am happy to see the Manchurian Candidate hoisted by his own petard. In fact, the FEC has no legitimate authority. There is no Constitutional authorization for the federal government to regulate elections. That said, it is poetic justice to see McCain entrapped by his own machinations,
The idea of "public financing" of elections is unconstitutional. We do not need campaing finance reform. We need Constitutional government. We wouldn't need to worry about special interests if government did not get involved in areas it has no business. Lobbyists buy politicians to use the power of government for their own benefit. Governments role is strictly limited by the Constitution. When our politicians do not follow the Constitution, the special interests prevail.
Come ON...
do you really believe that the CORRUPT FEC would let this happen to a "front-runner" candidate. They will cave no matter what. Then we will have a controversy, which will get NO press (other than "FEC approves John McCain's request...".
P.S. I hope I'm wrong!
Say YES to Dr. NO
We still have a Chance to
We still have a Chance to Elect an Honest, Conservative, Constitutionalist, Libertarian with a record of Principled Integrity and Leadership. Who has a clear plan to restore the Constitution, Reduce Government and Rebuild America. Elect Ron Paul President.
McCain flopped on his most core issue ”torture” to get the nomination and the support of George H. Bush. McCain is the only candidate that would pardon George W. Bush for his crimes and abuse of the constitution.

McCain and Federal Election Commission.
Visit www.federalnewsradio.com for a story entitled "McCain Faces FEC Obstacle." David M. Mason, the head of the FEC, has warned John McCain against withdrawing from public election funding. The FEC lacks a quorum, so McCain cannot withdraw. Remember that John McCain has the McCain-Feingold Act, concerning the public financing of elections, named after him. The whole matter makes a fool of McCain. It smacks of hypocrisy. Laws concerning restrictions on campaign funding are silly and difficult to enforce, and, more seriously, infringe on our liberties.
By the way, Mason is a Republican and a former scholar for the Heritage Foundation.

I admit
I have to admit that I laughed for a good 30 seconds at his misfortune, lol. Sadly, I'm sure some miracle will happen for him to stay on his feet. Tyrants like him are never so easy to get rid of.
I'm sorry..................
but I'm not familiar with this issue. Can you please tell me why you think
McSlime may be in trouble. Thanks
Question:
Can candidates that have withdrawn from the race for the Rep Nomination re-enter the race later on as a Republican?
Just curious just in case McCain is no longer in the running and it becomes a 2 man race.
Will McCain continue this>>WAKE UP PEOPLE !!!
