Take over the GOP

Take over the GOP with the delegates in the RNC.

Even though some of our delegates have to vote for McInsane for the nominee (hopefully only in the first round) they can influence the policies and platform decided in the convention.

Taking over the GOP is the only way to permanent victory over warfare-welfare state and the neocons and alike.

Everyone should get involved and take over the local GOP leadership positions and make sure that people here the message if not today in the near future, in the next elections of state senators, congressmen, senators.

McIsane might be in a situation that he is lame duck because he wont be able use any funds because of the matching funds issue and RP on the other hand can advertise as much has he wants to hopefully to the not so bitter end. :-)

Idaho deadline to file March 10

I am political NEWBIE - do NOT jump me if I have details wrong. I spent the day with the ID GOP at a campaign training, and this is what I understand the case to be: Many of the precinct committeeperson seats are open. These are elected positions, but it only takes 5 signatures on a petition to file. That has to be turned in to the county elections board by March 10. They were saying something about between the 10th and 21st, but I think that was about FEC filing.
There were at least 4 RP folks there, out of about 30 - 40 people. Was not really feelin' the love... ;)

Now we know something about CA and ID (Idaho)

Keep the information coming.

paul4won, are you going to file and run for a seat?

Parties are not the answer.

Parties are not the answer. Americans are frustrated with them and don't know what to do. The answer is an independent movement. When I hear about doing what's best for the party, I puke. How about doing what is best for our country!

No, I don't think so

The proper move is to take over the Republican party.

You say the dems will fight us when we take over the GOP. True, they will. But that is better than have the Democrats AND Republicans fighting us as a 3rd party. Also keep in mind that the big problem has not been the dems fighting us but the MSM. If you go 3rd party, you still have to fight the MSM. If you go GOP, you will at least get some respect from the MSM. Maybe.

Doing it in California

Each county here has a Republican Central Committee with about 30 members. The seats are filed by election on the June 3rd primary. It is a no filing fee position. All you need to do to get on the ballot is to apply at the elections office and get 20 or so signatures on a nomination form. In many counties the seats go begging with fewer candidates than seats. When that happens EVERYONE who does the paperwork is elected! If you have to stand for an election people don't usually know any of the candidates so it getting elected is a crap shoot. If a few hundred of us RP people do this "easy work" then we get to be heard in the CA republican party. It won't help RP much this year but if your in for the long haul you should check into getting into office and having a voice. In CA you need to be done with the application and signatures by March 7th. If the list of qualifies is shorted than the open seats you may know if you are "elected" on March 8th!

Anyone who knows how it works in other states should post what they know.

Our biggest barrier to growth is people's impression

that the movement is tiny and insignificant. It's just a matter of time before we overcome that.

Why Does the GOP Support McCain So Heavily

You know, with McCain "supposedly" getting the go-ahead nod for the GOP Presidential Candidate, why does he need to keep going in debt to finance his campaign? He owed more money in January than he had on hand. Just seems like more of the same for the GOP.

The GOP should wake up and realize that if they would just use the free marketing of the MSM to support Ron Paul's message, that it would be much more receptable to the American people than that of "I'm a great speaker with no substance" Obama.

The revolution would help to maintain the GOP's power. At the end of the day, McCain will have no chance against Obama and I would think that fact would be evident to the GOP. Is our party that lost? I believe so and once our parent's generation of racists starts dying off and swamping our Healthcare system, the GOP will be ripe for the taking.

Barring some serious scandal...

... for whichever commie wins the Democratic nomination, John McCain will LOSE IN A LANDSLIDE in November. Yes, I said it. A landslide.

He's not raising nearly enough money, he's got all of the talking heads for his party bashing him, he's got scandals out the whazoo that have been laying dormant since 2000, and let's face it...

... The decision makers want a DEMOCRAT in the oval office this time around. It's pretty much that simple. And who would be the best Republican for them to beat? McCain and his "100 years" in Iraq, of course. Maybe that explains how he came back from the dead after the amnesty fiasco. Did the public simply just FORGET? And how, when even most Republicans feel we should get out of Iraq, is his statement of long term occupation not sinking him again? Are the American people really just that stupid? I think not. They're pretty stupid, but not quite this bad.

I'll say it again... No.

This is about the 5th thread in the last few days talking about how we have to retake the GOP.

You can do whatever you feel is best, but I am saying NO to this plan. Why should we fight to retake a party that has shown ZERO respect for us, for Ron Paul, and for the Constitution? I say we ensure their death by staging a mass exodus after the last primary.

We will solve NOTHING if we simply take over the GOP and then fight tooth and nail against a very strong Democratic party. What will be different from where we are now? The Dems will still view us as the enemy, and it'll be the same crap rehashed with different owners on 1 side. Not a winning strategy.

Here's what I think we need to do...

#1) Register "Independent" immediately after your state's primary. Let's sink the GOP ranks to where they understand they blew it. then let's work to educate the Republicans who remain in the party until they realize that they don't want to be there either.

#2) We focus our attention on Democrats, educating them why their party is just as bad as the Republican party.

#3) We unite in an "Independent" movement to take back our country.

It's only by educating EVERYONE, on both sides that we will win this battle. Taking back the GOP is the easier task, but in my mind is pointless. We need to come tot he collective realization that our best bet is to move OUT of the parties and force them to actually start listening to us. As long as the majority of Americans are registered to a party, they will continue to dsgregard our wishes and interests because they'll still know that they have your vote no matter what they do.

I know a lot of people here don't like Lou Dobbs, but he's dead right on the issue of abandoning the parties.

I think that is

an excellent idea. Take and remake the GOP. Thanks for posting.
