Hi, all! G. Edward Griffin, scholar and writer on critical topics such as the Federal Reserve, gold, the Constitution, the UN, etc., has been deleted from Wikipedia! Why? Because he writes about the Federal Reserve? Why? Because he has doubts about the government's official version of the events of September 11? Why? Because he believes in American sovereignty and gold and liberty and the Constitution?
This is mindblowing to me! Does anybody know any way to contact Wikipedia and ask what prompted them to remove this man??? Google him and he's all over the web, but Wikipedia removes him from their "encyclopedia"?

Disgusted and shocked
I felt really compelled to comment on this forum as well. I was introduced to G. Edward Griffin when I went to the Artivist Film Festival in Los Angeles where they were screening Zeitgeist. Griffin was a speaker there (he was influential to the film). As soon as I came home I went to his website and now I receive his weekly newsletter. If it weren't for his newsletter where he links to an abundance of true news stories, I wouldn't know about a lot going on because those stories are kept hidden from the public. Then I found out about his deletion from Wikipedia and I immediately went there and tried to comment on his behalf. I spent over an hour looking through the BS that people are saying. I cannot believe people are quibbling over whether he is notable enough to be on wikipedia, saying things like there aren't enough reliable third party sources and he is a conspiracy theorist. I feel so shocked that there is even a debate about this! Typing his name into google elicits 315,000 results! His books sell on Amazon! You can find scores of interviews with him from other independent sources! He's won awards, he's started foundations, he's made movies! How is this not enough to be considered prominent enough to be on wikipedia. I mean wikipedia is hardly "scholarly." They have a wikipedia on anything you could imagine. I wrote a long comment and posted it in the debate. No one even commented on what I said, where I listed plenty of things he is notable for - instead people kept repeating "no third party sources." I feel like I'm going crazy. This is truly censorship. I posted my comment and the next morning they had decided to delete it. I really wish there was something else we could do. I realize we could say the hell with wikipedia, but it really is the principal, it's what this means for the internet and silencing voices that speak the truth. Seems like a concerted, ongoing effort to marginalize ideas that are critical of the status quo, especially where market anarchist ideas can be found. Wikipedia's rules were bad from the start. How can new ideas get a foothold in a time when 'official' mythology is pushed as fact? There is a bias against non-mainstream ideas built into Wikipedia.

I got deleted about 2yrs ago from wiki. Many, many people did everything they could to get me back on but to no avail.
It stemmed from my embarrassing Tim (the Shill) Russert on an interview I did with him on my Radio show DEADLINE LIVE in 2006.
The excuse was? The person who put me up on wiki added that I was a syndicated radio host. This is true as I am on satellite and on several AM & FM radio stations. I am syndicated on the Genesis Communications Network and neither of us list our affiliates as we don't want them hassled by the Haters. But just because we don't list them doesn't mean that they don't exist. This is easily verified.
But somebody protested saying that I was only an internet host ( because I also am aired on several internet sites) So that was it. Banned for life! and no recourse.
I hope that Ed will be reinstated but it seems once your banned, your gone and thats it.
Someone needs to start a major competitor to WIKI and put them out of business. AKA help the free market to work against wiki by giving people a better and more HONEST option.

I've just spent an hour reviewing the (voluminous) deletion history (link below) of G. Edward Griffin's Wikipedia entry.
Six (6) different editors entered a "Delete"...ON THE SAME DAY !
These were not ordinary persons - 2 of them are Administrators, and 4 others are either admittedly trying to become admins, or else have achieved a higher 'Editor' status, with extra powers.
One of them performed 4,000 edits in the past 12 days - that person must spend every waking hour on Wiki !!
It is truly amazing the extent that certain specially self-anointed busybodies on that site go to, to extinguish 'unsavory' items, particularly since the very same people not only allow, but personally espouse unsupported &/or radical ideas themselves on their own pages.
The major repeated claim against against Griffins' continued entry on Wikipedia is :
-that he is "not notable FOR ANYTHING",
-that there is no 3rd party verification source.
-that he is a conspiracy theorist.
Griffin is someone who has several books on Amazon,
has an IMDB listing, produced numerous films dating back to the '60s,
& a comprehensive website with copious amounts of well-edited & researched data.
His videos/audios (on the topic of the Federal Reserve & banking) have superb narrative & are very clearly & thoroughly laid out -
At once easy to absorb for those new to the topic, and yet still incisive & comprehensive enough for those well-versed in the subject.
I have ZERO Idea how to 'work' Wikipedia, but surely some on this forum do - if you haven't yet, please spend several minutes watching just one of his youtube videos - and if you agree, please make an effort to restore his Wiki entry.
If it is not already clear, he is a supporter of Dr. Paul, and his analyses provided in his videos are a great entry point for those who are seeking to learn more details about the financial subjects Dr. Paul often references.

Difference
The difference is that Wiki has a self-styled code of ethics which they are in the process of violating. For a Ron Paul supporter, I don't agree with quite a bit of what G. E. G. says, but that doesn't make it right to be a hypocrite.

Please don't take offense, but i'm going to re-post my response so it shows above yours - It's essentially an appeal to those on this forum who know how to 'work' Wikipedia, to attempt to get around the block they've established.
I think it's important that this at least be attempted - and also that ppl know how opposed Wikipedia is to people espousing views that are "anti-consensus truth" - and their own written disgust about those who are anti-consensus.

Griffin and "The Creature" were mentioned on Dennis Miller
I happened to catch the closing moments of Dennis Millers' radio show on 2/22, when a caller, recommending The Creature from J. Is. by name, gave it a clear and concise intro to G. Edward Griffins' masterpiece. Miller agreed with the caller, that it sounded worth looking into it.
Earlier there had been some discussion of the Fed, but I missed that part. Perhaps it's only coincidence that his Wiki entry went away, but I wouldn't want to be accused of starting a coincidence theory.
No Record of it in Wikipedia
I just now went to Wikipedia, searched for "G. Edward Griffin", got a list of results which at the top showed "G. Edward Griffin, Relevance: 100.0%"...but clicking that link goes to "Wikipedia does not have an article with this exact name." A search for G. Edward Griffin in existing articles brings up the same result.
At Wikipedia, you can check to see why a page has been deleted -- see this page. There, it says:
"When a page is deleted, this is recorded in the deletion log along with a deletion summary supplied by the deleting administrator. To find this information, go to this page and search for the article by its title, if known, or author, if known."
So I went to the Deletion Log and searched for "G. Edward Griffin". The result?
"No matching items in log."

Thank you for saying that and you're exactly right. The larger point is what prompted Mr. Griffin's deletion in the first place. I don't know enough about the site, but how does one find oneself there (contributions from writers, bloggers, etc.?) and if that's the case, who runs Wikipedia and how do "they" determine when someone should be deleted???

I can tell you that the Wikipedia admins have had some interesting encounters with the Overstock CEO as well. Look into both sides of that Overstock story. I think most folks would side with Wikipedia on that one. This is aside the point from the deletion of the Griffin article, though.

Anyone can do it in a few minutes, but a bigger question is why was it taken out. Although we know the answer, we need to use every opportunity to point out thees facts to those are not yet on the same page with us about what has really been going on in the world. Conspiracy reality
The "conspiracy theory" is just a code word used by the truth deniers when they have no legitimate arguments left to back up their twisted demands to suppress freedom and to bend the laws for their own benefit. They also resort to terminology like "you are crazy", "racist", "supremacist", "extremist" etc. Yet these people completely ignore the heinous crimes against millions of innocent people committed by the higher ups that they support. My listing in Wikipedia is being considered for deletion because some readers have labeled me a conspiracy theorist and a promoter of quack cancer cures. These people undoubtedly are well intentioned but suffering from a severe case of knowledge deficiency. If you are inclined, please go to the Wikipedia web site and enter a statement of support. More proof of how flawed Wikipedia is; Henry Paulson, Treasury Secretary, is shown to have died on January 1st 2008. He has appeared very much alive since then.

An outrage
G. Edward Griffin *had* a wikipedia page. I just viewed it a week or so ago. He is obviously a threat to the establishment because of his research. I've noticed of late that his news section of freedomforceinternational.com hasn't had any updates. I've wondered about this.
