What if McCain chooses a PRO-Ron Paul VICE PRESIDENT?

I was browsing AOL today and they chose 4 potential running mates for McCain.
One of the 4 was Mark Sanford, governor of SC.
Now I was saying back in November that if Ron Paul were to choose a VP running mate, Mark Sanford would make a great one because he is also considered a libertarian republican, was in congress with Ron Paul and voted with Ron Paul a lot of the time being one of two republicans voting against something.
Mark Sanford is also a two term SC governor.
So I'm wondering if people would vote for McCain if he chose Mark Sanford as his VP. And then the question is, what would Ron Paul do if his buddy Mark Sanford was the VP candidate?
Because look at this scenario...if McCain were to pass away say of old age while in office, and Mark Sanford became President, couldn't he choose a VP like Ron Paul?
Anyway it's interesting to say the least....I think McCain might get some fiscal conservative Ron Paulites if Mark Sanford is chosen as VP.

Unless McCain chooses someone named Rockwell, Buchanan, or Barr, i would call into question their "credibility" as a Ron Paul republican.

His VP would most certainly be a clone chosen by the same powers behind the throne that 'selected' him too, no doubt; and that clone might very well be none other than JOE LIEBERMAN, the Senator from Connecticut that was beaten out of the Democrat Party last election but managed to come back anyway as an alleged Independent because the people love him and expect him to continue doing good things for this land we all love. If Mark Sanford was so great
he would have endorsed RP, but no he decided sit back and watch Ron struggle in SC. I don't care who the running mate is, I would NEVER vote for McCain....will there even be anyone that wants to run with him? (landslide defeat)

I don't know much about Sanford, but if he is a clone of Ron Paul on domestic and foreign issues, I might be inclined to roll the dice that McCain might die early in his term. Because of economic conditions, I don't think the 2008 presidential winner will likely win a second term, so McCain would need to be very ill now.
The VP job has little power until the president
dies or resigns or is impreached or otherwise leaves office. Other than being the president of the Senate and traveling the rubber chicken circuit, the job isn't worth a bucket of warm spit.
Not for the last two terms.
Let's face it - George W. puts his shoes and socks on in that order. Cheney's been running the show. Bush is a just a puppet.

The MSM and polsters are playing "rope-a-dope". The NYT endorsed McCain because they knew he was the easiest Republican to beat. Remember how "popular" Guiliani was with GOP primary voters. He was never that popular. McCain filled a vacuum (how appropriate), in that the talk show shills will either ignoring Ron Paul or attempting to discredit him; and, when they did their "hatchet job" on Huckabee, they completely ignored McCain. Remember what happened to George "Split the Difference" Bush and Bob "Tax 'em Till They Scream" Dole, once they faced Bill Clinton? McCain won't even do that well.

IMO - If Sandford agreed to be the VP on a McCain ticket, and they lost, it would likely quash any future presidential possibilities Sanford may have - and loss for McCain is very likely and likely a very large loss at that

2. Posted disinfo about calling a station that DID NOT report Ron Paul dropped out.

Even if McCain picked a Ron Paul Republican as a VP, my vote still goes to Ron Paul. The RP GOP VP [say that 5 times fast!] would probably be subject to assassination, thereby spring boarding McCain's lust for martial law control. What better excuse to lock down America than having the 2nd highest leader killed?

I guessed you missed today's Rasmussen poll that has McCain ahead of Obama by four points. And you might have missed the general election polls Rasmussen had a while back that had Obama beating Paul by 15% in a general election matchup.

Ron Paul is now in almost total MSM blackout....how can you do polling on a candidate that is getting no coverage? If he is allowed to get his ideas out there and could debate Obama, I think he would make mincemeat of him.

I don't vote for "upgrades." I vote for people who have principles. If Sanford joined with McCain, I would not think highly of him. In fact, anyone who agrees to be McCain's running mate is highly suspect in my book. But that's just me. I'm no longer considering the lesser of two evils, no way, no how.

Sanford as VP does change things for me.
As long as McCain didn't ask Sanford with strings attached, this is about the only scenario under which I could support a McCain presidency. If Mac loses, Sanford is elevated and can run for it all in 2012. If Mac wins, Sanford is elevated, and can win in 2012 (Mac had been talking about a 1-term presidency) or 2016.
The most important thing for our country is that Ron Paul's ideas, libertarianism, get elevated. McCain would be wise to court Paul, choose Sanford, and court us for donations in the Fall.
Do I want McCain as president? Not at all. But Sanford changes things for me because it changes things for our movement.
