Success Report
Just wanted to share:
We homeschool, and once a week, we go out to a P.E. class designed specifically for homeschooled kids. We meet at a local park, do organized sports with coaches, and while the kids are building their bodies, I'm there building up support for Ron Paul.
Most of the moms there have been Romney or Huck supporters. I've been listening to their conversations and tucking in Constitutional views, laying a foundation for deeper discussion. Folks have noticed the two large "Ron Paul" magnets on my car, my RP button I wear, and have looked over the pamphlets and slim jims I've made available.
Up until last week, not much seemed to come of it, but I kept on my quest without being pushy. Just sowing seeds.
Then last week, one of the moms mentioned that she thought RP was out of the race. I set her straight, and she started asking more about RP. We went on to have a conversation that lasted about 25 minutes, and by the end of it, she asked if it was okay if she copied and passed out the flier I gave her. (Was it okay?!?! Heck, yeah!)
Today after sports, I let my kids have some unstructured time at the park's playground. I was sitting there with some other moms, just chatting about general homeschool stuff, when one of the moms looked at me and asked, "Are you the Ron Paul lady?"
Wow -- I'm the "Ron Paul Lady" :D
They started asking questions about how RP felt about this and that, and what his stand was on various issues. I told them I just happened to have some literature with me; dashed a few steps to my car, pulled out my handy-dandy Bag O'Paul, and within a space of a few minutes, these moms were holding slim jims, fliers, even DVDs I had burned from the RonPaulReveres site.
They were really liking what they were hearing; wondering why they hadn't heard all this before, and wanted to know more about him. They were upset about the news of InSane's alleged affair; I asked if it was just the possible affair they were unhappy with, or was it the FEC violations and the fact that InSane isn't even eligible to be president. They looked blankly at me and said they didn't know of those things, and were eager to find out more -- I promised to bring information on those issues to the class next Monday. I'm in the process of creating a special InSane flier right now; I'll post it here on DP when it's through.
So, okay, I didn't convert 10,000 people over to Ron Paul -- but, I think it does us good to report our successes, great and small. Plus, I take comfort in the old commercial:
You tell two friends; and they tell two friends; and so on, and so on, and so on!...

Yes!
Then if each of them get three or four, and each of them get three or four, etc. etc.
That's how we get it done.
I thought you should know that it is people like you that can
make a difference......PLEASE READ THIS AND BE INSPIRED ...
Did you hear about Oklahoma?
Posted February 25th, 2008 by TexaslovesRonPaul
At the Oklahoma district conventions this weekend:
In Oklahoma County, where Oklahoma City resides, where Ron Paul took 4% of the popular vote, Ron Paul delegates flooded the
conventions in enough numbers to add a platform plank calling for the
repeal of the PATRIOT Act.
I thought this is pretty darn awesome and just proves that popular vote means nothing.
Sorry if this was posted and I missed it.

Fantastic work!
Okay let me see if i can scrape up something...
This is from my effort on Y:A. I'm not reaching thousands of people but i'm happy to bring anyone to the light. The following was a question posted on Y:A were my answer was selected as "best".
"Help!!!!!!!!?
I am a former citizen of USSR. I did come to USA legally ( during cold war), had to wait 2 years for US government to approve my visa. I am a US citizen now. So I can vote in this country.
Democratic debate scared the living day lights out of me. I was a political prisoner in soviet union, and came to this country for one reason only so the government will never tell me what to do and how to do it. After Thursdays debate I fell like I am back in USSR.
What I am talking about is how this two clowns are going to make my life better. By imposing there ideas of health care and the rest of the cr-p on me.
Republicans scare me just as much with there idea of BIG BROTHER watching over me.
WHO SHOULD I vote for?"

I'm sorry you came here so late my friend. This country has be slowly adopting the communist manifesto for many years. The image of the United States that everybody holds is far from what it's become. People here don't really understand freedom and liberty and they will give it up for a little security that will never come. Thier idea of freedom is born from what they know and this is all they know. It is a degree of freedom sure. But principle is 100%, 100% of the time without question. So the moment you begin to give up liberty you are no longer truely free.
This country was founded on principle and our founding fathers went to great lengths to define what freedom is. A concept that has had a very short lifespan. Liberty is not granted to you because you are part of a group of peoples, it's is granted to you as an individule. Liberty that is your is just that, yours. Wether it be liberal-fascist or corporate-fascist your liberty is theirs.
If you like the architecture of the founding fathers. You value the principles for which they stood. You believe we can achieve this again. Then your only choice for president is Ron Paul.
The media marginalizes him and reports faulty misinformation about him, because he doesn't fit into either parties paradigm. He is more anti-war than any democrat and more conservative than any republican can dream of being. A stronger candidate for civil liberties there is not. period.
He is the best of both parties minus the hypocracy.

Well you shouldn't be sad about not having a TV, I gave mine up several years ago and i oculdn't be happier about it. You should feel liberated. It's good you have access to a computer as this is the only place you can get unfiltered information. Although, Yahoo news is merely a conduit the mainstream media uses to infiltrate and subvert the internet.
The MSM has been actively manipulating the course of the 2008 race by issueing false statements, slander, and marginalization of lesser known candidates. Please take time to find out all you can about each candidate before you settle on someone because they "look good".
Each candidates substance can be tested on what and how they say it if you know how to listen. Three way logic is necessary. Dialectics is binary.
If A, then B.
But if implies if A is TRUE. So, aside from the truth or the negation operation, A must be made of more than one element. In fact A must be made of three parts:
A.1 - an element to be tested
A.2 - an element which is the result tested for
A.3 - the test which must be appropriate
If you want to go further, you can also analyze the test, A.3 and A.1 and A.2 which also break up into three parts. This can go on forever.
Dialecticians sometimes know that there are three parts but they will give you two parts and hide the other part. Every time they make a comment you will find that they keep shifting the hidden element so the other two parts remain correct. We call this flip flopping.
B can also be broken up into three parts and so on. Before you settle on a candidate please check to see if he/she is lying.
After you see what's out there I highly recommend take a close look at Ron Paul.
Congressman Ron Paul, "The Champion of the Constitution", is the leading advocate for freedom in our nation’s capital. As a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, Dr. Paul tirelessly works for limited constitutional government, low taxes, free markets, and a return to sound monetary policies. He is known among his congressional colleagues and his constituents for his consistent voting record. Dr. Paul never votes for legislation unless the proposed measure is expressly authorized by the Constitution. In the words of former Treasury Secretary William Simon, Dr. Paul is the “one exception to the Gang of 535” on Capitol Hill.
If you think the govenment is out of control and never delivers on it's promises in spite of all good intentions and that we would be better off without the federal government controlling the very fabric of our lives. Then Ron Paul is the only choice. But don't take my word for it, please see for yourself.
There are many things you should know before voting please check the links I have left below.

I know it's not a huge influence but when you consider that this happened on Y:A it's pretty encouraging.
Recently i had a random guy knock on my door and ask me about Ron Paul. I pointed him to Meetup in his area and gave him some literature. Told him to kill his TV and write-in Ron Paul if he has to. He said will do.
WOW you ARE AMAZING!!!!
I have to say you are one smooth mom!!! Listen I used to be in marketing for over 10 years, and I will tell you that if you put together a night at either your house or a clubhouse, or a friends house.. make some tea and cookies, etc, you can invite all the moms over to this house and have an information session on Dr. Paul , you have enough women who already are interested in him, and once you have a group of say 6-10 women who understand all that you do and have resources to find out more(ie websites, etc) they will spread the word..... Imagine you can do this once a week or even twice a week to let people know about Dr. Paul !!!! This is what people used to do before the media dominated our lives....
Think about it , if you just get 2-4 women as exited about him as you are, and they start telling their circle of friends... you will have your own meetup group by then
women LOVE TO GET EXITED ABOUT TOPICS THAT THEY BELIEVE IN , and once their awareness is high enough about how great RON PAUL is they will take off...
BTW what state are you in .... have you had your primary yet? Are you a delegate.... you should be. you would be great :))
Kind Words
Thanks, Jdayh. I worked in marketing too, and in creative services and legal departments, for a Well Known Entertainment Company (perhaps you can guess which one), so it's nice to think that all those years invested there may yet be paying dividends.
My state has already had its primary. I am the precinct leader for my community, and I had emailed HQ about becoming a delegate. However, they emailed me back and said that, since we didn't earn any delegates in our state, there was nothing for me to sign up for. :( I wonder whether that situation has changed, though, since Romney dropped out...
New Flier is UP!
I have completed my mission to make an anti-McCain flier, and you can find the details of it here.
The Two-Thirds Candidate!
great news FanofWalt
Guess what..."I'm the Ron Paul Lady too! LOL. I've also been called the Ron Paul Machine. I don't get why all homeschoolers are not behind RP. What really surprises me is that any of them were voting for McCain. I can't believe that. I know many have been lulled into Huck, but McCain?? Wow. Gald you set them straight. Thanks
my handy-dandy Bag O'Paul!
Another true patriot. Thanks for the post, it's very encouraging.
Ron Paul Lady!
I homeschool also but don't have any real network of people I interact with. I love the "Ron Paul Lady" label. Wear it with honor!
Your post has encouraged me to be more vocal - I try at church but, well, it doesn't go very far. That's OK. People know where I stand and when they're ready they can come to talk to me.
Thanks again - so encouraging.
Start Your Own Group!
Start a Yahoo group for homeschoolers in your area. Anyone can do this!
Call it the (town or area name) Homeschool Group. Plan park days to meet together once a week, invite homeschool families to bring whatever they're currently working on to share with other kids, do oral reports in front of people, perhaps set up a weekly co-op class to conduct right there in the park. We've done all those things, as well as crafts and celebrations and general playtime. Heck, you could even set up your own sports day (we have done that, in addition to our regular homeschool P.E. class).
Setting up a group like this is a great way for homeschooling families to get to know each other. And to (ahem) spread the word of RP, natch. Just watch: create this group, and people WILL find you and want to join in. You're not the only homeschooler without a network!
God bless you!
The Ron Paul "No Taxes On Tips" slim jim with a 20% tip will go a long way too.
Funny how the RP movement changes us.
The wife and I have no kids in the house, we both work. So we've taken to the last few months going to resturants that we usually don't frequent and we do the exact same thing... the slim jim with a whopper tip.
We get out more and still get the word out... eating.
;)
Great job!
Any success to me is worth it. I handed a guy and his wife a slim jim at a sub shop where I live. The next week he was at my meetup group. If everyone handed out slim jims wherever they went, gas stations, restaurants (mirrors in the bathrooms hold slim jims really well) Ron Paul business cards in credit card slots at the pump. This is what it is all about, taking every single opportunity to spread the word. Keep up the great work!
word of mouth
Is a good way of dispelling chinese whispers.
'I always think of all you canvassors and precinct leaders at the front line.
Good luck out there &Thank you. It's appreciated'.-fip -U.K
Heartening news
I believe that as the days go by and people get a sense of the serious trouble we're facing, it will be easier to connect with them. I have a gut feeling that patience and persistence will pay off.
This is what it is all about...
you have been sowing seeds and now it is time for you to reap!! Great going. I wish we had that kind of home school PE class here.
congrats!
nice job.
keep it up!
My sister has had some success
on homeschool forums she is on too. If we can win over the homeschoolers we have done well, they are very political and very well connected, information wise. I am a homeschooler, and havn't figured out why they aren't all for Paul.
nice work!
and thanks for sharing!
