Please tell me honestly I am asking this in total ignorance how people will be able to start using gold and silver as a currency if the dollar crashes? The logistics..I mean seriously..is that really going to happen?
No, it's not.
For the reason you just mentioned. Logistics. There was a time when it could work reasonably well. But in todays world it simply would not work. What makes more sense is to have a monetary system that is equivalent to a fixed amount of gold, silver, or some other item that has real legitimate intrinsic value. Sure the dollar will probably crash, most currencies do. But when they do that doesn't mean everyone goes around buying and selling using gold coins. It just means that a new or reformed currency takes it's place. The concern in this case is that the new currency will be something like the speculated "amero". A north american currency sort of like the euro in europe.
Invest
In a gun or rifle, Canned good, etc. Gold and silver will be taken away by the feds.

but.. for most people... you can purchase many more ounces for less fiat dollars... plus silver is going up it was up .70 cents yesterday and up.50 today! percentage wise I think it will do better! but nothing wrong with palladium.

actually the dollar was backed by gold during the depression.. my grandfather told me that CASH was king.... so the dollar was actually strong and actually bought much more than it did before the depression..
Now the dollar is being TRASHED! You must buy Gold and specifically i think SILVER now!.. this will protect your wealth!

Silver is what you all need to invest in. I made a previous post regarding silver. My husband and I bought into silver a few weeks back between $14.00-$15.00 an ounce, now it is pushing $19.00. Check into a company called Monex.com or Kitco.com, either one will work, and you will do well. I personally believe silver will be up to $35.00 an ounce before July if not sooner. Palladiam is also doing well, we invested $1500.00 a few weeks back and it has gone up from $503.00 then to $540.00 an ounce as of yesterday. The mines are closed right now and the workers are on strike so it has become a very precious item. Read up on any investment before you buy, but know that now is the time before the dollar takes the big dump by the end of 2008.

russia and south Africa have the corner on platinum and palladium... the russians are pissed about kosovo! this whole thing is heating up.. Isreal is expecting major warefare to breakout within a week there.. could be one reason why the metals are booming.. those in the know are protecting themselves!
