There are lots of people who are flaming and trying their best to be just the opposite of what Dr. Paul suggests we all be. Did you ever hear him state he wanted or demanded or ordered anyone to do anything other than do what they felt they needed to do? I think not his favorite saying in speaches etc is...... I don't want to run your lives, I don't want to tell you what to do. Well he hasn't told any of us to do or not do anything now has he?
Facts:
We were planning a Rally in Washington DC long before Ron ever announced the March. How in the hell do you think we came up with the permits so fast?????
After the Super Tuesdays losses the people started dropping like dead flys, donations dipped, people were begging for help from the Campaign all through the primarys and got none. People were getting discouraged. Something was needed to bolster people back into a support group not a piddling and whining group of dissapointed people.
We announce our Rally early just to give people hope. and it worked except for a few jerks who tend to be negative on every project. We understand not everyone can attend and don't expect them to. We also understand that people will be more motivated to attend a march that Ron is leading. But you also have to understand that no date has been set as yet. Nothing but smoke. Ron is busy.. He cannot hold each and every one of our hands daily, we are adults and need to do as he says and accept responsibility for our own lives and behaviour.
Some of the posts on this forum have certainly not lived up to his expectations.
We have bands, speakers and the wonderful Dave Von Kleist of the Power Hour as our Host. Jack McLamb will be speaking, Dean Santoro, and Wanda Casy singing the National Anthem and on and on.. Yes it has been planned.. Yes we have porta potties ready to go, speakers podiums, sound systems and best of all permits.
Groups such as : No Nais, No Nau, No Amnesty, You don't speak for me, No TTC, Bring them home, Gun Owners, No Cafta, No Nafta, the Lacota Indians and on and on... people are coming together to let everyone know we are one solid group not just small little sects that can be ignored.
While Devvy and I talked about the Convention as a site I personally have already tried for a permit, they will be given out like in a lottery, and none will be within 7 blocks of the center, the police have already notified everyone that they have acquired Tazers which will probably be used on protestors as in the 2004 convention. There is no parking and no rooms available close by and while there will be media what will they be reporting on. Yep only on the disturbances not the causes we will be there for.
We will continue to plan and build the Rally and hopefully this has cleared up a few things with all of you. We are not trying to take away from Ron's March, frankly I doubt if there will be one. A exploratory committee costs money and for what. Don't we already pay the salary for that staff? Why add more expense? There are events planners on staff, fundraisers who are all ready being paid let them do their job..
If you want to help raise awareness for Ron I would suggest all of you do it positively not by attacking anyone else who plans on anything that is beneficial and helpful in raising spririts and awareness of the candidates.
All the spite and meaness and sheer ignorance that has surfaced in some of the messages on this forum is unbelievable. Are you the same people who pledeged to support a moral, ethical and honest candidate? Everyone would be much happier and better off if they thought twice before letting their fingers do the walking on the keyboard.
Linda and yes please call me anytime... even at 3 AM I have a clear concience and don't have a problem getting back to sleep. I pass judgement on no one and hopefully others will not be so dull witted as to try to bash others without cause, actually there is no cause for this behavior. It is childish, rude and shows ignorance.
Hiding behind screen names is one of the most cowardly ways to attack anyone.. l will never stoop to that level. Nor will I be scared into giving in to a few distractors trying to disrupt anything and everything that has been planned by any one.

One more thought before bed
April 15, many people will be protesting at FED buildings that feel that this is the most important aspect of the stand.
...many people will be at their state capital because they feel it is the important....
...many people will be in Washginton because it is so important.
ALL locations are important...see my other post.
Anyway, my point is that people would have to choose between making change at their State Capital OR the April 15 gathering at our nation's capital....but both are genuinely important.
I think that we should have a nation-wide stand on April 15 to create local change and edcuate voters/taxpayers nation-wide while also working together to protest the injustices.
And a final thought....I think that we should have TWO major marches/rallies on Washington. One on April 15 that draws people from the region and poeple from accross the country that can afford to travel twice...and a scond march/rally with EVERYONE focussing solely on our March on Washington.
To me, the more big stands we make the better...each event will build on itself toward the next one as long as we are financially responsible-see my other post.
Hope that wording expressed the though I had. I swear it was different than my other post, but i'm really tired. Anyway, it doesn't need to be a "grannys versus Paul"...we are all on the same team. We should all work together to accomplish as much as possible.
Personally, I trust Ron to run the country, so I also trust that he will announce a date to get us all on the same page.
I refuse to just sit and wait for marching orders, but I also refuse to spend my money on cross-country travel when he has said that he wants to put together one unified stand. I personally trust that he WILL in fact announce a date to ensure a larger turnout, hence one of the reasons that I support TWO large marches/rallies in Washington.
As i said in my last post...use April 15 to catapult us into our next event on the date that Ron announces.

I simply feel that we should be more clear.
The April 15 event and the March on Washington will be two seperate events (unless Ron announces otherwise).
If people are able to travel accross the country twice, please do.
But if you can only afford to travel accross country once, please save your resources to come to the March on Washington on the date that Ron announces...
April 15 we need to make a HUGE stand, but we also need to use it to propel ourselves into an even larger event on the date that Ron announces-so we all must be financially responsible.
Therefore, I ask that people please travel to one of the following locations on April 15 while making plans to travel to Washington on the date that Ron annouces:

Granny Warriors have a permit for the West Lawn of the Whitehouse starting at 11am!!!

This way we can ALL be part of the stand on April 15 and no one has to choose between going on April 15 and going to the event that Ron announces.
Besides, we DO need to petition our State legislature to stand up against the RFID and the "fair" tax. By doing so on a local level, while being part of part of a national/international stand, then we will make both local and national change.
It is not to try to "take people from your event" but instead to get us ALL involved and further Dr. Paul's plan.
(In the video announcement of the March on Washington, he states not to wait for our marching orders, but also makes a spcific request that we must honor....he has asked us to come to Washington on a date that he has yet to release so we must save our money to be ready...)
By having marches/rallies in our local communities, we will be informing people that Ron is still in the race, educating voters/taxpayers about the issues that we face, gathering people for our next stand, and much more...however, I also support gathering as many people at the Whitehouse as possible.
Personally, I think the important thing is that we all go on strike and go hold signs, pass out informational CDs, and engage in other Peaceful activities....
Therefore, I strongly support the event on April 15 at ALL locations.

Its been quite a while since we heard Ron give that message, and since then we have heard nothing. I know that he is still very busy, but HQ couldn't put together a 5 minute video update to let us know what's going on?

When I got your first email about the April 15th rally, I laughed aloud and shouted, "Way to GO, Linda!" Your courage and determination cannot and should not be discounted. I admire the work that you have done, and everything that you are trying to do. Such devotion to liberty cannot, should not be discounted by true adherents to the cause of freedom and individual rights.
Do not be discouraged or deterred by those who insist that you do not know what you are talking about. You and I both know that everything that you have said is true. Sad, yes, discouraging, yes, that those who SAY they support liberty, who are even paid to promote Paul's message, would do their best to discount and subvert you. Do not be discouraged. You are on the right path. If more people like you were on the campaign staff, if enough people TRULY believed that Ron Paul was electable, instead of lining their own pockets, or using the campaign to promote their own personal agendas or futures, Ron Paul would have easily overtaken all other contenders. We have talked on the Statehouse steps in Columbia, SC, and we both know what is going on.

Bo Gritz? Is that possible? Jack is/was a good friend of his. In 1992 Bo was talking about most of the same stuff that RP is now. Federal reserve, CFR, NAFTA and so much more. I have wondered why he's been silent about RP.

Where is the person that is NOT attending Ron's event and attending the Granny event INSTEAD? There is not anyone like that. Some (like me) hope to make the Granny event, but are more likely to be able to attend one later in the summer. If Ron calls a rally, I will get there somehow. If I could get to both, I would. But people will do what their heart tells them and their circumstances allow. At the least, my heart will be with the Grannies, hopefully all of me can make it!

I don't know what your background in politics, or anything else for that matter; I've never met you but have read and watched videos of your FABULOUS travels and events! I just find it so hard to believe that his campaign staff are apparently so dim-witted that they don't want to acknowledge all the successful and great ideas you've had; it makes them look like the inadequate bums that they are!
You probably have met my brother Walter, the "William Wallace of Ames, Iowa" when he was in NH for the vote re-count; he was rather discouraged with the chain of custody of the votes and the mess the GOP has made of the voting process in NH!
I think you would be the BEST Investment that the RP campaign could make; you've done more for RP than his ENTIRE "official" campaign has combined! You've consistently come up with GREAT ideas and have supported RP in every imaginable way. I think that whomever has been targeting you for harrassment, etc. is just DESPICABLE!
I look forward to hopefully meeting you in person some day, I have so much admiration for you; I live in FL and due to finances I won't be able to attend your rally or the RP March either, but I will be there in spirit with you all!

To date they have let things slide, put off needed projects and in total have done more to circumvent the success of this campaign than can be imagined. If you feel that the campaign committee has done a great job in winning this election or even the primarys then you need to re-evaluate the results we have seen. We had to institute the Recount, We had to make the news, We had to rally the troops with the meetup groups and the Grassroots working over time..
WE HAVE RAISED THE FUNDS FOR THIS ENTIRE CAMPAIGN.
We have taken no salary, we have spent our own time and money with no appreciation from the Campaign Hq. The only time they recognize us is when they need more money then they put out a notice of needing even more. The campaign brags about the Military being the biggest donors to this campaign yet the salary of a enlisted Military man is approximately $40.00 a day to provide a living wage for their family plus they are being shot at and have given up so much for all of us.. The Campaign HQ director receives a $1000.00 a day in salary plus expenses and gives up nothing, not even the decency of being respectful to the people who call or visit the offices"
THIS is the main complaint most have with the Grannies. NOT their march.

This Anti Headquarters mindset has been a major drag on the spirits of a LOT of supporters. It is divisive. It divides us into the pro Headquarters bunch and the Anti Headquarters bunch. And the Granny group has already shown themselves to require perfection from their group, and at some point perfection will not be delivered. At some point these people are going to say "they should have done this and they should have done that", and the Granny group will subdivide.
The National Campaign has not been perfect, they can't be. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING is that we all stay united. No matter how many mistakes, those mistakes MUST be forgiven and we MUST remain united. NOT divided into the "SCREW Headquarters" group and the "Follow National Campaign" group. We must remain a UNITED "Ron Paul 2008" group, with all its mistakes and successes, because UNITY ereases all the mistakes and amplifies all of our successes.

The key words here are: beneficial and helpful in raising spirits and awareness. I'd have to say that has all come from the grassroots supporters like the Granny Warrior

You are not being realistic. Logic tells you the easiest place to derail Dr. Paul is inside his campaign. I don't know about you but I'm a Ron Paul supporter because I have some critical thinking skills. They didn't fly out the window just because someone has official campaign after their name. It's this same attitude of following someone else's lead and not questioning things that has brought us to this mess in the first place.
Perhaps you'd feel a bit differently if your RP support activities had brought you in close contact with the official campaign. Things don't look quite the same up close and personal. You tend to see all the imperfections much more clearly than someone further off.

Ron Paul Rally at the convention
I really like the idea of the Ron Paul Rally being held during the convention. We will have the whole world watching and lots of media. If we do it in Washington all we will have is tourists.

Me and my family will not be able to go to any rally (whether it is DC or St. Paul), but it seems like maybe the St. Paul rally could possibly be a better idea at this point, rather than DC. Just my opinion - not worth much since I can't go.

There is NO excuse for anyone attacking or being abusive in any way towards Linda Hunnicutt aka Granny Warrior. You may disagree with her choice of date for the march she has put so much effort into. That's one thing. However, anyone who is being abusive or attacking her, is identifying themselves as PLANT. She has done too much for the r3volution and Ron Paul for anyone to be in a position to fault her motivations and/or actions. You need to ask yourself what are the motivations behind anyone bashing such a loyal supporter? Seems to me, that would be to create dissension within the ranks and that spells TROLL to me. Stop buying into this nonsense!!!

Bravo to the Granny Warriors, Buddy, and yes, Tim too. It is clear that these patriots do not simply agree with the platform, they understand it and live it.
It has made me very sad to see the GW's attacked by those who insist we "honor" RP and the campaign by being good little soldiers who only do what they are directed to do from HQ.
Rally on, march on, and do whatever moves you GW's and friends and true RP supporters. I say thank heaven for doers and organizers and patriots of every sort. Carpe diem....and thank you for all you do and inspire....as a real testament to the platform.

M. Raborn Linda, I find it a shame that you have been on the receiving end for such unkind and untrue accusations, including physical harassment. I am sorry that you even felt the need to reply to such comments, but after reading your post, I sincerely hope that people will understand this had NOTHING to do with competing with the march Dr. Paul suggested. This was in the works way before then. As usual, you have been ahead with so many ideas, like airplanes towing signs, working with NASCAR, making your own buttons and so many other things I can't even remember... just the idea of the Granny Warriors and the Freedom Wagon. I am glad some people do recognize just how much you have contributed to the Freedom message, both in time, effort and money and in leadership..
I think April 15th is an excellent date, both for its symbolism and because the weather should not be so hot that early. Standing on concrete in DC in July is not a pretty thought. Of course if that is what the Exploratory Committee decides...then I would never discourage people from attending that event also. There is never going to be one date that is perfect for everyone. Another positive for the April date is that there will still be numerous primaries left and this will encourage supporters to keep right on working for Dr.Paul.
I initially thought that Devvy had a good idea about a rally at the National Convention, but you had already checked that out, and with permits for such a rally being required to be 7 blocks from the convention center, it made that seem rather useless. I do hope after giving it some thought, Devvy will join you in Washington. I am so thrilled over all the groups that are coming together. It will be a great experience for everyone who is able to attend.The more we unite and join together and support one another, the stronger our message grows. Dr. Paul has always said this movement is not about him, it is about the message and no one in the Revolution has done more to carry this Freedom message forward than you have.

I appreciate all that you do and remember a lot of the negative comments may well be from "outsiders". I believe the many that supported you in the beginning still support you but too many have left this forum or just don't post any more. You're right after super Tues. people started losing faith. What is really great about this is that so many different groups will be participating which is what really needs to happen. RP supporters can't do this alone, all groups need each other right now, anti-war, anti-amnesty, NoNAFTA, NoCAFTA etc etc. There is power in numbers and we have to show the government that we will no longer sit back like sheep and let them destroy our country. We still have Freedom of Speech and we need to use it before they can take that away.
Google the Chicago 7 and see what my generation did in 1968....we can learn from their mistakes and their victories. We the people, will take back our Constitution and end the wars.

With my vehicle covered with Ron Paul signs. And if I see anyone else on the highway with Ron Paul signs heading toward Washington, I will fall behind them to create a convoy.
We can sit and talk or we can do something. Ron Paul has always said that he relies on his supporters. I won't let him down.
