March 4th - Good Luck Dr. Paul!
Submitted by Michael Nystrom on Tue, 03/04/2008 - 01:00
Texas, Ohio, Vermont, and Rhode Island all hold presidential primaries today. But the big news is that Dr. Paul is defending his Congressional seat today in the Texas 14th District.
Good luck Dr. Paul! Those of you on the frontlines, please keep the rest of us updated!

It's sad that the good Dr.
It's sad that the good Dr. has lost.direct mail mailers

Precinct 266 results
Here's an image of the voting results for delegates:
http://picasaweb.google.com/natmaster/Precinct266RepublicanD...
Precinct 266 is ours!
Every delegate AND alternate selected supports Ron Paul.
We also passed cool resolutions like "no preemtive war".
We Made This Happen In 6 months
We have 8 months until the presidential election. Think about it. The media will be bored.
ALSO
Me and my wife were the only 2 to show up at my Precinct caucus. So I filled everything out and we are going to the county convention at the end of the month.
Don't Be a Party Pooper
I am from Ohio, and I venture to predict that Dr. Paul will do better than usual in the Buckeye state tonight. I mean like 3 counties are in. yall gotta lighten up. The movement is strong and if you thought this was gonna be easy you were living in Candy Land . Plus Bucks love RP! And Franklin and Mercer Counties ;) ain't in yet.
I'm trying...
not to be. But it's hard.
2% IN
Mccain has 60%, we have 5%:

60% or 0% McCain is still a fairy!
This is sad
This is a sad statement on the US. In the three states reporting so far, "Other" has gotten more votes than Ron Paul in all three.
Either there's not as many "enlightened" people out there as we thought, or "they" are manipulating the vote to come out the way they want, or some combination of both. Either way, it's a sad statement for this country. I guess they'll get what they deserve.
Our movement is around 10
Our movement is around 10 percent of voters. We didn't do a good job to build off the early number. The national campaign was led by morons and failed miserably. It has been well documented here on how unsupportive they've been of outside efforts.
And Americans aren't ready for this right now. Give it one more cycle and things will be a lot worse. What we need to hope for is a dumbocrat to get in. They'll continue to screw things up and maybe people will see neither party represents them. Personally I think our movement needs to be an indpendent one, not one affilated to any party. That's the future.
You Know I Am Starting To Think You Are Right
What 30 million has been raised this election year for Dr. Paul and the only stuff I hear about is what is being done by individuals not on the books.
Don't give up the Republican Party
We need to kick the neo-cons out of the Republican Party. As long as they control it, they will be a menace to America and the world. Think big.
This is what was wrong Jive
I believe that those of you, who are good people, I loved watching your videos and getting inspiration from YOU way back when the campaign was nothing and YouTube was everything...you didn't understand how much the GOP is destroyed. Let me put it to you this way, let's say the GOP is a first class luxury ride, compared to a third partr row boat. More people would rather row or swim independent and lose that join anything with GOP on it. GOP might as well mean " Hitler Party". It doesn't matter that Hitlar is dead, people want EVERYTHING that has to do with the GOP DEAD! This is on local, district, state and national levels.
Ron Paul's support came from Independents like me, and I know people, like my sister who joioned the GOP because of Ron Paul..she is not talking to me she's so PISSED as if everyone who told us, "Ron Paul is GOP and he's going to betray you because THAT is what the GOP does." They were right Jive. All of them were RIGHT about Ron Paul.
I told my sister from the beginning..I'm not joining the GOP because in my area the GOP is an old boys club, we have alot of Libertarians and Independents....I know all the GOP guys because as a Granger, I belong to a Fraternal organization, I belong to several, I'm a Leigionaire...I know many Republicans, and the old boys here weren't buying Ron Paul. The Libertarians here went nuts for Ron Paul and Steve Kubby joined my Meetup...so here we were really hoping he would make that Indy break because here, we need to break out of the Old Boys GOP.
The old boys like you, you can literally get away with murder, we've got a very corrupt system, maybe because cannabis is legal here, but for me to join the GOP to promote Ron Paukl would have made me a target, and to be honest, a few things have gone dowm on me...Old Boy came and had a talk with me about McCain...as if I should get the picture because I'm not a kid, I'm a well known active member of this community and until Ron Paul, my Ron Paul sticker has cost me quite a bit.
Here in CA 26% are registered Independent, and perhaps many, like myself, live in communioties where Old Boys and Cliques take over a party. While I got a small group to join my Meetup, (and like you and others, I spent thousands promoting Ron Paul..I worked a 500 mile radius, encouraged my sister to start a Meetup that got over 100 members..
The whole thing feels like a set up Jives...this whole thing was to pump people for money to pay off the GOP debt, here in CA we are 3 million in debt to one man (an old boy). I feel like a FOOL for falling for Ron Paul and plastering my house, my car writting all those letters...I was a useful idiot for the GOP, which the old boys don't give a crap because they have it locally despite what the GOP does nationally.
Anyways...Ron Paul had a great platform, eh?
I don't see it that way at all, Granger
Your experiences in your area and state are not the same as mine. I accept that you're reporting honestly what you've experienced, it just doesn't match what's going on where I am. Ron Paul hasn't earned much for our state GOP; we (about 80 of us) did give them $20/head to vote in their straw poll in October, but it was just recently announced that they're $300k in debt! RP clearly hasn't cured their poverty, or even made a serious dent, and I don't see any evidence that he or the campaign ever had that as a goal.
You've every right to your assessment, but other perspectives are possible. Remember the 3 blind men and the elephant. ;-)

Casted my vote for the good doctor today in Ohio.
Unfortunately, he is only drawing five in Tx, five in Ohio and seven in Vermont. But the campaign has basically been done for weeks so why should I be surprised?

I'm hoping he wins Vermont...
Me and 3 family members voted for RP today. Also had a co-worker email me saying she was voting for RP - wanted to make a statement & hated McCain.
Out and about today, saw a number of RP signs. None for any of the other repubs.
2 Votes From My Wife and I
Also going back after they close to be a precint delegate in Coryell county Texas.
I Hope He Keeps His Congressional Seat
But to be honest...deep down inside if he loses I won't be sad.
I'm keeping a small hope alive that maybe he will consider a run as an independent.
Am I evil?

RHODE ISLAND HEROES!
60 DEGREES AND RAINY.
The last three days has been an endless tirade of Obamanation (and they are) on the TV and radio.
McCain stopped briefly last week, but, was not noticed.
Every vote in Rhode Island will have been earned by the blood, sweat and tears of the Providence Meetup and others. Those people will get no medals, no trophies or news conferences, but, without them Dr. Paul would not have gotten anything in RI because Providence Meetup are the ones who went out on Christmas eve and got the signatures that got the doc on the ballot.
Day in and day out they have fought the commie propaganda organ Providence Journal (we have one newspaper in RI) to give Dr. Paul One GD line of press.....ONE.
This is from Rhody one of the original states. I live 5 blocks away from where General Rochambeau had 5000 french troops quartered here in Newport. He met George Washington and then sailed out of Newport to go and defeat Cornwallis at Yorktown and start this country.
This is where it started.

Did my thing in Ohio...
Did my thing in Ohio...
There was a woman helping to register people who had so much negative energy about her that it was difficult to approach her. Although I stood silently waiting for her to finish what she was doing, she insisted on accusing me of rushing her. The other two ladies seemed pleasant enough. They helped me along, and my voting experience went well.
As I left the voting area my attention was grabbed by three pictures hanging on the wall. Each one of Noah's Ark. The first was of the Ark on a high ground as all the animals were boarding. The skys were dark. The second was of the Ark perched atop the last of the high ground as the flood waters came in. The skys were dark, but a rainbow arched from the sky to the tiny Ark. The third was the Ark atop that same high ground, this time the water had receded and all the animals were back on land where they each belonged. The skys were blue and the sun shined bright. The animals in the third picture looked happy.
*sigh*

Pennsylvania Delegates...
I should know because I am one of those delegates. #3 on the ballot from the 5th Congressional District in Pennsylvania and the #1 and #2 positions in CD 5 are both Ron Paul Republicans as well! Stay tuned for big things in Pennsylvania!
Ron Paul is 1st on the ballot here in Pennsylvania. McCain #2 and Huckabee #3.
Good Luck Dr Paul
Good Luck Dr Paul !
Voted for Dr. Paul Twice
I just voted in precinct 151 in sunny San Leon, Texas (part of District 14) and will be going to the precinct convention at 7:15 tonight to vote a third time. They actually offered me the choice of machine or paper. I asked which ones they will be counting. They replied jokingly, 'whichever one I wanted'.
Go Ron Paul!!
response to jerry's comment
This is a response to JerryB9's comment about Ron Paul's Texas turn-out. It may come as a shock to those that love Ron's message, but he is relatively unknown outside of his district in Texas as well. This year is the first I've ever heard of him. I live in Austin. Texas born and raised. never heard of him.
I think that he will pull in around 8-10% here, but I thihk he's already in with a fix of 5-6% from msm. He's getting a little more airtime on the news lately, but it is still distorted. It was reported that his speech at UT Austin was around 4,000 people attending. I was there and there were A LOT more than that.
The media blackout is the same all over. They shape reality everywhere...even in his home state.
We can only hope something odd happens at this point.
I voted early last week for Ron Paul. He was at the top of the list of candidates here in Austin.
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy

Vote RON PAUL 2008
______________
And you'd never heard of him. That leaves me with a rumbling in my stomach hearing (reading) that. Not good.
As you surmised, I thought for sure EVERYONE knew of RON PAUL -- Him being a 10 TIMES ELECTED TEXAS OFFICIAL // Not elected to City or State Government, but elected to Congress of the United States of America. Once or twice (and not knowing of him) I might be able to understand that -- after all Texas is a BIG STATE ;-)
But surely not remain hidden for 10 TIMES. I do believe you and that's what's making my stomach continue to roll. Wait a minute, it's lunch time, that might also help explain the stomach thing -- but certainly it hasn't been good hearing what you had to say. Damn!
Vote RON PAUL 2008
I consider myself fairly
I consider myself fairly well informed but I had no idea he existed either until 9-30-07. I joined a meetup within 24 hours of discovering him by reading his voting record in a Digg comment. I don't live in Texas but still..... Yesterday while I was out canvassing, I encountered people who had never heard of him and he has phenomenal support here in Montana. It's a prevailing problem everyone and it's being hugely exacerbated by the corporate media pretending he doesn't exist. We just have to keep doing our best to get the word out. In the meantime, I wish to reiterate some ideas gleened from you good folks here in the past:
1. Make sure you write or stamp at least his name on all your paper money;
2. Take the envelopes for pre-approved credit that you get in the mail everyday, stick a Liberty card in them and mail them back to the company that sent them to you;
3. If you are shy about canvassing/approaching people you don't know, go buy a bag of rubber bands and use them to hang slim jims on door knobs
4. Definitely join a meetup
I'm sure there are many more ideas out there and I would Love to hear them....

I still can dream...
RP winning both. That's the best case scenario. I just got to turn off my TV because I will only get annoyed. 5-Plane could wrap it up today..blah, blah, blah...

People like winners...
Winning his Congressional seat is proof to those who refuse to look further than election results that Ron Paul is electable (I hate that word) and an accepted candidate. It would be a HUGE boost to the Presidential campaign to claim this victory. All sorts of ways to market this win.
IMHO
You are so right
He is going to ABSOLUTELY CREEEEAAAAM whomever opposes him in the 14th for the eleventh straight time and you can take that to a real bank.
