Becoming a delegate and running for office AINT GONNA DO CR@P if we do not get MORE support! We NEED MORE PEOPLE INVOLVED IN THIS WAR! We have a NATIONAL ID, DRAFT and MARTIAL Fn LAW on OUR DOORSTEPS!!! We need NEW RECRUITS!!!
MANY HAVE LEFT!!! Like it or not... that is the gosh darned facts.
We need to be reinvigorated by actively recruiting NEW Revolutionaries into our movement. What are we doing to do that?
I remember what got me into this thing and it wasn't a bunch of whining and moaning. It was your STRONG BELIEFS and very informative answers to my eager ears. I am astonished how EAGER people are to hear this message.... still. I talk to EVERYONE about the current situation. My customers, at the convenience store, at the gas pump and every where else my feet take me. You people got me into this thing with NEW and creative renegade ideas.... AIR CORPS BLIMP NEWSPAPER SIGN BLITZES and everything else.
So if we ARE still in this thing? What are we doing? And don't get me into this becoming a delegate cr@p. I HAVE MY PETITION AND AM COLLECTING SIGNATURES TO TRY AND BECOME ONE! I am also going to be campaigning for a fellow meetup member her in NJ. He is running for congress.

I almost hate to type it on this site because of the lack of response. But I have to.. This is where it all began for me. I really felt like I got unplugged and was on the Nebakanezzer when I came here.
We have a march coming soon and how can we expect a HUGE turnout? Not by neglecting recruitment.. that is for darn sure.

We are looking at a mear $10,500 to have RON PAUL in the shirt and TRUNKS in BIG BOLD LETTERS! OUR OWN RON PAUL WARRIOR FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! And cheap to. I hear it all the time.. that's a bargain and we should be able to do that... NO PROBLEM.
Well.. with about 11 days left... HOUSTON... we have a problem.

If you're in NJ come over to PA. Our meetup is strong and keeps on going.
We are planning on it.
NJ Meetup 458 is already putting together plans to canvass and assist in PA. We have signs and boots to walk the beat.
I emailed about 300 supporters in PA about the fight and got 0 response.
But, that still won't stop me from goin.
I am very tired and very fn mad right now. The sh#t is hitting the fan and these fn people do not even know it. WE ARE RUNNING OUT OF TIME!

I believe that delegates can change how this process works so that they are not bound during convention. Maybe some people can start working on doing that?
Who is leaving?
Many primaries are over, so the people in those states are in a holding pattern for now. I suspect they spend less time in forums and such for now, but I don't know anyone who "left." Indeed things are just getting cranked up here, but we have not had our primary yet.
Good work on the delegate thing! And you are right, we cannot concentrate so fully on one front that we neglect all others. However, I have my hands full and purse empty from my local efforts right now!

Ron Paul's seat in Congress is secure. He won last night's primary by an almost 2-1 margin. The down side of this, however, is that it's all but assured that his campaign for the White House is over. Granted, he may continue a low-level candidacy, and deliver a much coveted speech at the GOP convention, but it's essentially over at this point.
Which is why I'm focusing my efforts on the Libertarian Party now. Ron Paul was essentially running on the LP's platform. We have a home in the Libertarian Party, a whole organization dedicated to the same principles that Ron Paul is, and a host of candidates to support who are making serious bids for political office.

Become a delegate.
Becoming a delegate is the first step, since that will get Ron Paul the nomination. Secondly, unlike most American, we actually care about the nominating process, most American will wake up about a week before the election and look at and decide who they want as president. It is our job to have Ron Paul their to be a clear choice. Relax, nobody has left Ron Paul, they are fallen soldiers who need to be helped up. Relax, have fun and become a delegate.

I have been kicking myself because I have not been doing this lately, because everytime I have talked to a waitress or waiter, they have been interested in no income tax on tips. Think of how many of us on this site eat out and leave tips!

I am in about 15 meetups throughout the country!
Trust me. I have a good idea what is going on. Many are not around anymore. However, the remaining ones are doing what they are supposed to. The Vermont supporters really did all they could. They bought ads and all kind of stuff. So did the Ohio and Texas meetups. There was alot of chatter in those meetups. The states that are done barely have any. My meetup is down to 4 or 5 that are really active. Some stop in every now and then. Trust me we need to reorganize and reinvigorate this movement.

If McCain does get the no. of delegates required (and CNN says he already has) then doesn't he basically have the nomination? (no brokered convention)

The delegates make the rules at the conventions. If McCain is an unpopular candidate, and the majority of delegates really do not support him, and the media has seven months to tear him to shreds, anything is possible.

They can even change the rules to unbind every delegate if they wish and have the majority of support. 50.1%
We still need more support.
Say we win the Convention. Then what.?. Then start recruiting more into our movement. That would be a little irresponsible of us.. Don't you think? Here we wasted seven months on the delegate process when we could have ALSO been doing things to get more into our movement. The clock is ticking. War is on the horizon. And much more. I have been getting signatures to become a delegate in my state. I can chew gum and walk at the same time. Why not become delegates AND get new recruits? What is wrong with that? Why can that NOT be done?

I don't think this poster is being negative. I think he has a point. We need to continue to be creative and spread the message of Ron Paul...continue to get more people interested in his message.
I understand about the delegate thing being important...but getting people excited about Ron Paul's message is also important.
