Ron Paul's Victory Statement

by Ron Paul | From the Daily Dose

I am honored that the voters in the 14th District expressed their continued confidence in my leadership by overwhelmingly reelecting me to the House of Representatives. I have no Democrat opponent in November and will serve another term in Congress where I will continue my battle in behalf of taxpayers.

My message of limited-government and upholding the Constitution has once again been endorsed by the conservative-minded voters in my district. They understand and support the battle I have waged for thirty years to make the federal government smaller, to reduce wasteful government spending, to balance the budget, and to promote a foreign policy that always puts America first.

Some Washington insiders would have you believe that Republicans no longer believe in the principles our country and party were founded upon, but the voters in my district have once again proven them wrong.

The message of freedom is popular, and I will continue to trumpet it in Congress and across America as I fight on behalf of the conservative, common sense values which made our country so great.

In conclusion, I would like to offer my thanks and gratitude to all of the wonderful people who supported me in this campaign. I look forward to representing all of the good people of the 14th District of Texas in Congress in the years to come.

Ron Paul Congress

If we just more people that are running Liberty platform elected into Congress from other states congressional seats then Ron will have more allies to fight for Consititution.

No way I giving up on his Presidential bid for 2008. John McCain has not clinch this yet despite the MSM says,

I LOVE this man... Long may

I LOVE this man...
Long may Ron Paul run!
Let's send him some good company!

Wake Up Your Neighbors ?

Anyone think a 50 State March to their state capitol could wake up a few locals ? Maybe put the word out that our man is still in the running ? Maybe it would be good if all the "tried and true" supporters of the Constitution all got together for a weekend of good food and debate ?

Got a better idea ?

Numbers Don't Add Up in Texas

They want us to believe that McCain won Texas in a landslide. A place where I have never heard anyone mention his name, never seen so much as a bumper sticker, and clearly a state that is covered by Ron Paul signs. Just for the sake of discussion let's say it's possible. What I find seriously hard to believe is this:

* Ron Paul got 70% of the vote in his district for Congress-----37,220 votes.

* In that same district they want us to believe he only got 6,697 votes for president.

* That equates to approximately ONLY 1 in 5 people that voted for him for Congress supported him for President. They can't be serious. Don't lie to me!!

Please don't take my word for it. Look at the numbers yourself.

Texas Numbers

Excellent post. I was preparing a similar one. How can the district and presidential results be so different from the 14th district? I will be calling headquarters tomorrow looking for an explanation. A 1 to 5 ratio seems incredulous.. All Ron Paul supporters realize the election process has not been skewed in our favor for sure but these latest stats are beyond belief. I hope all Ron Paul supporters will persist in finding the rational for these two sets of numbers for the same candidate from the same group of voters.

Tell Ron Paul you still want him as President!

He needs us. He has said he will continue to run as long as we continue to support him. He has also said that our words mean something.

Maybe he is waiting for our move?

I am very pleased that Ron is going

back to DC & has more power & prestige than ever before. His nation-wide Presidential campaign will give him more weight to properly throw around.

I'm really glad Ron Paul

I'm really glad Ron Paul will be going back to Congress at the very least. We need him.

Fight on Dr. Paul!

The message is getting louder, it's grabbing the attention of many new ears. People are waking up, a delegate count doesn't matter if the people are not awake. Everyone must understand what the founders specified. The Constitution is not negotiable.

Good victory statement :)

Congratulations Dr Paul !

More harm to grass roots?

What does this statement mean??

I have no Democrat opponent in November and will serve another term in Congress where I will continue my battle in behalf of taxpayers.

RP can't serve another (full) term in Congress, if he were to become President, right? Isn't that exactly why Texas voters voted for him for the District but *not* for President?

When will supporters get any update on the Presidential campaign, if there is one any more, and the March, if there will be one *organized by HQ*?

as i posted elsewhere

Fortune Favors the Bold

it works to our advantage if the republican party rank and file think its already been decided. read my other posts on this topic.

I know what *people* post on DP

However, I want to know what RP and HQ want us *grass roots supporters* to do, now, if anything, when many of the states have already determined delegates for the however-many-levels there are!

Basic question - what will happen to any remaining or future donations, if RP is *not* going forward in the Presidential race? Should people continue to donate or not?

When RP is being reported as having *dropped out* like Huckabee (as appears to be indicated by RP's own statement that I quoted), why would any unbound delegates even think they could vote for him at any level? Will RP delegates be allowed to vote for RP in their own states, if RP is perceived to have dropped out (vs. Romney "suspension")?

Does the GOP *party* believe RP has dropped out, so it could decide he would be ineligible for anything at the national convention?

Or, given posts on LRC, is RP considering a third party run?

It would be nice if we supporters weren't being treated the same as the (clueless) "republican party rank and file" you mention.

Donation

Dont take this as gospel but I read somewhere (cant remember where though) that at the end of a campaign Ron Paul puts some of the money into his next political campaign fund and the rest of it goes to a charity.

The comments following this story were uplifting.

I am glad he sends strong

I am glad he sends strong accolades to the good people of District 14 but unfortunately, if I didn't know better, I might have also misinterpreted his words due to the fact that he doesn't mention his presidential candidacy at all.
http://www.youtube.com/wa...

I wouldn't read into it that much...

This was a victory statement sent out because he won his seat again. I would be more worried if he did mention the Presidential campaign.
Suppose he spoke of his continued Presidential bid in this statement, it would detract from his win (like, "yeah I won this, but what I really want to win is...")

Or suppose he states the he's ending his bid...totally detrimental, as the MSM would be on it like white on rice.

It's a damned-if-you-do/don't scenario. I think he took the only correct stance on this...yet again. He's been in politics about as long as I've been alive, I think he knows what's best to state and what's best to leave out.

GO RON PAUL!

“I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.”
Thomas Jefferson

Ron Paul is in a unique situation

in that Texas is the only state that allows you run for president and Congress at the same time ("Landslide Lyndon" Johnson did just that, in 1964).

Look at this "poison pen" from ABC News.

http://abcnews.go.com/Pol...

Only one of our "ethical" mainstream sources, would describe capturing 70% of the primary vote as "nearly losing your day job." Let's just hope we can completely bypass this slime while deliverying Ron Paul's message over the next several months and beyond.
