Straight Talk from a Texas Meetup

From: Al Gearing
Date: 3/5/2008

This is a bit of uplifting news from Jeremy Blosser the grass roots coordinator in the Fort Worth area. For what it's worth,
Al Gearing.

McCain does NOT have the nomination.

I hear some of you are discouraged even now. Turn off your televisions. The media lies, people die. How many of you knew the convention process existed 3 months ago? Why do you think the media is going to tell you all the truth about it now?

John McCain does not have the nomination locked up, and in fact the way things have played out is possibly in the worst shape he's ever been on the delegate front. Many of the Huckabee people are not going to vote for him. In our conventions last night, the no-confidence-in-McCain resolution passed unanimously in many rooms where we were not the majority. Those people are with us now, as long as we get them there. You have their names and noticed how they voted on core issues -- that is your new canvass list! Go win them as supporters, and keep them in the fight with us!

We don't need a bunch of candidates at St. Paul to keep going. We need a bunch of delegates there to keep going. Many of them were never bound in the first place, and many of the rest are now released and mad. The floor is going to be McCain-vs-everybody, and his support is just not there in even the people on the ground that are saying they'll vote for him. Remember what we told you about Reagan's Raiders, and get used to the phrase Paul's Patriots. (I'm tired of them having that word, I want it back.) If you think that's a fairy tale then WAKE UP and look at what we did in Texas last night!

HERE is how we could have lost it all last night, and ended the race in favor of McCain -- if you guys had not gone out, across the state, and done the work. That's it. If we got killed in the delegate process, it would send the message that we can't do it even in Texas, and other states that still need to vote would have a very hard time keeping their people going. Other states gave us a fair amount of momentum, but to me it really came down to us, here. Operation Come and Take It. Would Texas keep it going and make it even stronger, or would it fizzle here?

I need not have worried. Phase 2 of Operation Come and Take It was a resounding success. You guys responded, and I think last night may go down as the shot heard round the world of this Revolution. We still won't have final numbers for a while but there's no question we did something the rest of the country has got to hear about. The media isn't going to tell them any more than they told you, and we need those people out repeating our successes and expanding on them. We need them to be delegates in their own areas. Now. Point them to the resolutions we passed, and the strength with which we passed them -- to me, these resolutions serve as a great metric on how well we are doing in delegate strength. If we keep passing our resolutions, we are staying the majority. It's like the final numbers on the primary vote. Show others the resolutions if you want to encourage them; you can find them here:

http://WWW.ocati.org/delegate/TX_r3volution_resolutions_clea...

Keep your eyes on the prize. We are after the national delegation and the party platform, nothing less. We had major success on that front last night, but it only continues if we keep going. We have 7 months until the national convention. We don't need all your time until then, and we probably need less than we've needed so far, but when we call we need you to be there. All the way to the end.

PS -- If you have signs out in your neighborhood please collect them ASAP, they won't likely last today. We want them so we can use them later.

We took a broom to them as well. Precinct 4103 Cedar Hill, Texas

I was voted precinct chairman and we had 6 or 7 out of 8 Ron Paul supporters in our group. I will be going to the state convention as an alternate delegate. I hope to raise that status to a designated state delegate in the up coming meetings before the june state convention.

If I do nothing else I will pound Ron Paul ideas into anybody I come into contact with along the way. I wish to take back my Republican party but most of all Take Back Our Country.

For those who are in the remaining states. Know this, It felt so good to vote for Ron Paul and to get involved. I want to encourage all to become Precinct leaders and make sure you are the one picked to be your state delegate.

Sincerely,
Don Preston

You guys are amazing, you

You guys are amazing, you need to pass this on to EVERY meetup group that is yet to go to convention.

Delegates

Another Texan here to report we sweep many precincts with Ron Paul delegates!!! Concentrate on getting delegates !!

Be on your guard....

I sent this good news to a friend of mine, and this was his response:

"That is very encouraging ... It looks very similar to what I was a part of in Texas 20 years ago (switch out McCain for George H. W. Bush, same level of angst amongst the conservatives) at the Brazos County GOP convention but we didn't go so far as to have a "no confidence" resolution.

You might want to pass my observations on to Al and Jeremy. What happened was that we got suckered into thinking we were making progress (I was on the county platform committee and spent some number of hours helping craft a draft platform and resolutions for the county convention). By the time we got to the county convention we got Bushwhacked -- they shut down the convention with no action on the platform and resolution because the county party leadership said it was not amenable to 'our' presidential nominee. That's right -- from 1988 to 1992 the county had no party platform to protect the elder Bush's hide from being embarrassed. I'll expect nothing less this time around at county GOP conventions across the nation. If the Paul and Huckabee camps work together they will have ample opportunities to stop such foolishness if you prepare beforehand.

I must admit though that some of the resolutions do ring hollow. For instance on the taxation resolution, if they GOP of Texas is dedicated to the abolition of the IRS, the repeal of the 16th Amendment, and the repeal of other taxes that violate the intent of the Founders, then show me the actions by Republican elected officials at the state or federal levels (other than Congressman Paul) that have done something significant toward these goals. The GOP of Texas has given us two presidents and at least two governors since these goals have been state party policy, yet these elected officials have undermined every expression of party policy that the resolutions addressed."

RP voters are not sheep

The sheep came out and voted the way they were "supposed" to vote. They voted for McCain and went home. One McCain voter I was talking to told me I was "throwing my vote away" by voting for Ron Paul.

She did not go to the convention, she probably didn't know there was one. The polling judge at my polling place told me that there was no Republican convention. Nobody was getting their voter cards stamped Republican because they didn't think there was a convention.

I had to convince the polling judge that there would be a convention. He then found a room that we could have it in after I convinced him that I would be there.

All day the next day the right wing radio shows were laughing at the Democrats and their process of conventions after the vote (implying that the Republicans were oh so smart because they only had the vote and no precinct conventions).

I'm sure my precinct had about 1000 votes for McCain...I was the only one who showed up to be a delegate.

So...who's vote was wasted?

So how many delegates does your precinct have?

Do you get to vote for all of them? What happens in precincts where indeed a precinct convention was not held? Can people still apply? Let's not miss any opportunity to get our people where they need to be.

Go Ron Paul! Woot woot woot!

This show is not over until we say it's over, and I better not hear anyone here say it is over! LOL :)

Go Ron Paul!

Go Paul's Patriots!

Great Post.

Thanks for that. Good read, and people need to realize that what is happening in real life is not on TV (is it ever?).

I was watching Glenn Beck last night, and I saw a crack in the armor.

The ticker on the bottom of the screen, after a Hillobama blurb, turned to McCain, and called McCain the "presumptive GOP nominee".

Presumptive?

The only GOP people I know that support McCain, also voted for Bill Clinton. Those are the staunch republicans in the McCain camp.

What could really work out, is that in the final primaries, the GOP voters stay home, or vote Dem for other reasons, and only Ron Paul voters show up for the GOP votes.

Resolutions passed in district 3161

several resolutions passed in 3161 on march 4th

The following is one of the most important for texas:

NORTH AMERICAN UNION
Whereas the goals of "economic intergration" and "labor mobility" among the three North American countries are proceeding rapidly, following the pattern of the creation of the European Union, despite the fact that it has never been voted on by Congress or even discussed with the American people, and Whereas, wen President Bush met at the third summit of the Security and Posperity Partnership (SPP) in Montebello, Quebec in 2007, he was asked by Fox News "Can you say today that this is not a prelude to a North American Union, similar to a European Union," and he did not deny this but instead ridiculed and insulted the questioner, and Whereas, the prestigious Hudson Institute published a report called "Negotiating North America: The Security and Prosperity Partnership" which describes SPP as the vehicle for "future arrangements for economic intergration to create a single market for goals and services in North America" that is "designed to function within existing administrative authority of the executive branch," and Whereas the prestigious think-tank the Center for Stratigic and International Studies (CSIS) issued a taxpayer-funded report called "North American Future 2025 Project" revealing that the core of the plan is North American "economic intergration" and "labor mobillity" and Whereas President Bush signed the Secure Fence Act on October 26 2006, after it was passed by the U. S. House (283-138) and Senete (80-19), but 15 months later only a few miles have been built out of the 845-mile fence mandeated, and Whereas, Congress prohibited the admission of Mexican trucks onto U.S. reads by a House vote of 411 to 3 on May 15 and a Senate vote of 75-23, but the Bush Administration announced that it will continue with the Mexican crossborder trucking program anyway, Whereas there is no evidence that the American people want t be intergrated into any sort of North American Union, Therefore, be it resolved that_____________ call on all presidential and congressional candidates for public office to verify that they will use their best efforts to oppose all plans that might lead to a North American Union. Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be sent to the ______________Senatorial/County Conventions Comittee from Precinct#____ of the __________County Republican Party, with the recommendation that it be passed ant sent to the State Convention Platform Committee of the ____________ Party of Texas.

I share this with you to let you know that we can continue to fight on the small scale. We also Passed a resolution against the RealID, and a majority of the members (aside from us ronpaul republicans) had never heard that this chipped ID device was not only in the works, but scheduled to be implimented in Texas by May of 2008. Needless to say, our defense is not now to promote a specific candidate, but to continue our defense of the constitution by moving forward in the electoral process as the voices of reason.
I have hope that I will see a lot of you in the Freedom movement on the other side.
With Love,
Aimee

very true.... I was talking

very true.... I was talking to my precinct chair yesterday.. she was a huckabee voter.. she is now voting for Ron Paul... no one likes McCain.
If the Romney people come over McCain does not have chance at the convention.. The media is socilist/communist.. they want either socialist obama or hitlery in office.. McCain is not even a speed bump for those 2 to run over. they know if Ron Paul gets the nomination that he would kill either of the 2 in a national debate where lots of people will watch and learn! they cannot have this.. this is why were getting the mccain BS about him winning the Nomination! Fight the good Fight my brothers and sisters.. BECOME A DELEGATE..there are still spots open in many states! THIS THING IS LONG FROM BEING OVER! I'm going to be giggling my ass off- hopefully in Minnesota as a colorado national Delegate, or sitting in my home watching from tv.. that old man scowl that mcmain gets like hes got a turd caught crosswise- when he loses!
God Bless Ron Paul!!

I agree with you 100% that

I agree with you 100% that McCain has nothing right now, I would estimate that at VERY VERY BEST he has around 800-900 delegates.
That being said, the Republican Party will be in a vastly different shape come September.
Here is the problem, it costs money to travel to St. Paul. Anti-McCain people are much less likely to take several days off from work, and spend the travel costs to vote against someone. As for the Paul Supporters, they would likely be willing to spend the money, but by that time many will have been indoctrinated that McCain has won and so may decide to cut their losses and stay home.
The only way this whole thing will be effective is if we can somehow finance peoples travel arrangements (a massive moneybomb) and somehow keep it out there that Paul is still in the race and that anything can still happen.
Remember that by August (convention) the Democratic race will have been settled which means that many of those Anti-McCain Republicans will see the need to embrace their "winner" so their party looks stronger than the Democrats. Its unfortunate, but true.

I really hope the Veterans against McCain gets their message out there in a bigway. I hope that a Republicans Against McCain group starts (and not by a bunch of liberal Rep. who are supporting Obama) and they get their message out there in a big way. We need lots of advertising on the Keating 5 scandal, his recent lobbyist scandal etc.

One thing that would be smart so as not to look partisan is commercials taking on the Democratic Front Runner(s), and McCain at the same time. This would be very effective to show that neither are worthy.

Extremism in the defense of Liberty is no vice.

the problem will be finding

the problem will be finding housing.. much of everything is booked!

Become a delegate for Ron Paul.

We got 5% and we got delegates, so big deal, Ron Paul will take the convention.

votes in Pauls 14th precinct race

Could anyone from Texas please explain why Paul got 38,000 votes for congress in his district but only about 10,000 for president in the 10 or 12 counties that make up that district? Is this even plausible. I have called my Congressman, my local GOP hq, the Texas GOP and the TX state elections board and just got the run around. Thanks.... GO TEXAS.!!!!
GO RON PAUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Low POTUS Vote Count in TX

Ruling out any conspiracy, the only logical explanations would be that no one in his district believes he has a chance, and perhaps they want to see him stay as their congressman.

McCain Problems with the FEC could be why...

McCain problems with the FEC could be why the GOP is jumping in there.
If he's the nominee, they can start spending money on his campaign, which
right now is under intense scrutiny by the FEC for his acceptance of public
funding and then that shady loan in Florida.

I've sent green papers' delegate count info to the DNC . It appears that McCain is still 50 or so delegates short of the 1191 needed. That includes his unpledged count.

RP just needs to hang in there, down to 2 now, whether they admit it or not.

Any word from our candidate or is he just hanging low for all this crap to blow up?

Ron Paul was on a conference call 3/5

Check the recent threads, with 3/5 in the title.

Listen to the linked audio. After Ron's participation, it gets into the juicy stuff on how we are winning. (Shhhhh!)

Our momentum can begin shifting

This news is great! I've been so excited to move forward since Huckabee dropped out.
I see 2 possibilities now - both wonderful! 1) The remaining states can force the brokered convention, which puts RP toe-to-toe with McCain. I live in NE and from what I'm hearing, we're saturating delegates very well (at least 80% in my county). With spring coming, we will be hoofing it from door-to-door.
OR 2) An unbrokered convention where every other bound delegate will express their regret for being bound. -- I think both scenerios will do well for our cause.
I am also anticipating a growing regret in our country for voting McCain as more events and information unravel in the months to come.
9 of the states remain, and now that neo-cons are letting their guard down, more truths will come out before their primaries and more people will begin to question neo-con ways.
The dems are sounding more and more like RP every day - even though their real platforms are socialist programs, they're fighting McCain with constitutional arguments. This can only help us, now. Full steam ahead!!

Now we just somehow have to

Now we just somehow have to make everyone else in the US know Ron is still in it and what his platform is...what else can we do?

Here's an idea

Disclaimer: this has been a sore subject around here. Please don't flame up.

I know there has been some questions about this before, and perhaps even about myself. But, I have to say: Liberty Racing PAC is STILL alive and kicking. The first grassroots advertising campaign of our young PAC is now at RonPaulRacing.ORG. We have a LOT of candidates we officially endorse other than RP around the country that you can see at libertyracingpac.org, and more to waiting in the wings to be officially approved by our board.

Right now, I am working on our relaunch. We'll have a new video that will express our goals and get people pumped about the idea again which can go viral. We have set up our OWN account in the business name and our own merchant account and credit card processing (no more Google or Paypal!). I still have to set up the page to take all the right info and integrate with the site look and feel. I just have been so busy with my own business, and local Ron Paul activities (I am now a delegate for Ron Paul in my county here in TX! woohoo!)

The basic idea is FIRST to get Ron Paul on a NASCAR. This is actually very close to happening. Despite all the debacle before, LRPAC was actually able to raise and hold on to enough money to offer our team sponsorship for one race to start off!! But we STILL have a great deal on the table for the whole SEASON! With Kenny Wallace and Mike Bliss!! The value of this is that the team we're going to sponsor knows how much their promotion of us (in MAINSTREAM ESPN, ESPN2, SPEEDtv, NASCAR television, radio, events, Kenny's shows, etc.) will get them more sponsorships as long as the people are willing.

The beauty of our PAC is that we are definitely NOT a single candidate organization! We have every intention (if the people are behind us) to spread messages of liberty by purchasing NASCAR sponsorships even beyond the general election.

We actually have an opportunity to get WHOLE CAR sponsorships for nationally televised (ABC) races for A VERY GOOD DEAL if we play our cards right. Imagine a whole NASCAR for Ron Paul, maybe his face on the hood or something.. mainstream people would be like .. huh? there would be no possibility anyone could think Ron Paul has dropped out with this unprecedented event unfolding on the race track. It would definitely become a news item outside of the sports world.

Ron Paul isn't giving up on us! We're NOT GIVING UP on this idea!!

Look out for updates!! Hopefully I can get everything wrapped up before this weekend is over. Even more hopefully, everyone can get behind this. This is a great deal of media coverage for a GREAT price. Ask around the NASCAR track to find out how much sponsorships like this usually go for.

GO RON PAUL!!! Burning rubber and RACING to the White House!!

Ron Paul or bust...

We must persevere. There is no alternative. To quote Patrick Henry, It is nothing less than a question of freedom or slavery.

"We don't have to start a brand new revolution...All we have to do is restore the original Constitution." -Ron Paul

From the reports i have

From the reports i have received we did awesome in TX

by my numbers we have obtained 56% to 58% of the delegates in TX

Great job all.

Any Links

to the supposed SGP Report? If it is that good wouldn't you want to share with us? Hmmmm

We

We got 5% of the vote...your post is BS

Where are the reports?

Or is this just another BS statement?

19 resolutions passed

I was the only delegate for my precinct (technically there was the old precinct chair and my wife but they didn't want anything to do with the process).

I passed unanimously 19 resolutions.

12 resolutions from Bexar county, 5 of the Lubbock county resolutions that didn't overlap the Bexar county ones. Two of my own. One against undeclared wars and one making all votes null and void for any _CANDIDATE_ who could not show a photo ID proving their Texas residency.

Al, Have you seen my post

Al,

Have you seen my post about the delegate process in depth?

I have been pushing this for months and i spelled out a long explnation of how delegates and the nomination works.

If you have not seen this here is the link if you have seen it please send this to every meetup and email you have please.

Williamson County Pct#149 sent up at least 4 RP delegates

We had 8 attend, 9 R3VOLution resolutions passed, mostly unanimously, majority RP supporters.

Our friends in the area all attended their conventions and had similar numbers. At least 4 precinct conventions I know of that were dominated by Ron Paul supporters. There are many more, these are just the ones that I actually spoke to people who attended.

Talked to the campaign

I just spoke with the campaign on the phone. Ron Paul is staying in the race..and collecting delegates. She said it did not look like there would be a brokered convention. That's not so good. She said MCCain doesn't have enough delegates but he is close. She said Ron Paul will stay in to give all Americans the opportunity to vote for a true conservative. If you have not voted yet...please CONTINUE THE FIGHT! We will collect more supporters! RON PAUL 2008 Jazzloversinc

Ready to shift into high gear

I think many Texans who made the effort to attend their precinct conventions noticed the throngs of Democrats queuing-up to caucus for their chosen candidates. I hope that spectacle has helped others realize that our battle is still looming. All of our challenges have been simply minor skirmishes up to this point. After making major in-roads to the convention process on Tuesday, I think my fellow Texans are encouraged and eager to continue this fight to the next level. Let's do this!

Great Job Team!

Texas

Yes, we may not have received much of the popular vote, but Ron Paul supporters are more active. I had 5 people in my precinct, 2 voted for RP, 2 for Huckster and one I can't remember. [may have been RP] he was kind of quiet.

However, we had 3 RP delegates going to the next level. You did not have to be there to advance if you were nominated.

Another Precinct next to me had several people, at least 2 of them were Ron Paul supporters and they had no problem passing there resolutions.

The RON PAUL REVOLUTION continues.

Yes, it's the delegates that matter now.

Ron Paul will be the next President of the United States of America.

Again, I say Thank you TEXAS!

great statement about the

great statement about the events that transpired last night in Texas. In my precinct and 3 others I checked with the no confidence in McCain resolution was passed with flying colors. over 50% of the delegates were obvious RP supporters. Its now time to make it to nationals and stand in defiance of tyranny. Special thanks to all the other states who set an example for us Texans to clean house at the conventions. Lets not stop now, we have just begun.

GO RP!!

precinct meetings

I lost precinct chair to the incumbent but i did get over 200 votes. that was cool.
It would be nice to compile a list of all the RP resolutions that passed throughout Texas last night. Our meeting lasted 2.5 hours. We passed 7 resolutions, of which 4 were specific RP Resolutions. we had 18 in attendance. We had for sure 7 RP supporters of the 18 present

All I can say is----

Wow! Thanks!

Yes, thank you TEXAS!
