American Troops Tormenting Iraqi Children -- Sickening

soldiers make us look bad in America, and all our good soldiers.
However, Bush and Congress are no better than these idiot American troops.
They're sense of humanity and morality are morbid

I agree that it is sickening, but why do we keep posting this stuff here? It casts a broad brush on all troops and detracts from the mission at this site.

By no means do I condone the actions taken in the video - they are clearly wrong. However, it comes real close to what happened to the Vietnam Vets when everyone was chanting "baby killer!' to them when they returned.

One apple spoils the batch in the public eye. That is not true when it comes to reality though. I know more valiant and honorable troops that are serving in the military than anything else. In fact, I do not know one of these people that keep getting videod. Most of our troops do not like what they are being told to do and trying to make their impact as positive as possible. So, let's focus on the election and get them home.

By the way, I am suggesting that we stop posting this stuff here, not saying "stop!" You are free to do as you see fit.

These people don't deserve our sympathy. They are putting the lives of their fellow soldiers in danger, disrespecting their duty, and undermining the mission.

this is nothing new in warfare. cut the troops some slack. they are not your enemy and are under attack enough from other sources. if you haven't been to Iraq you'll never understand. the wrong thing to do in the US might be the right thing to do in Iraq.

trust me when i say this. very few if any of these guys deployed with plans to torment children. the strain you are under when on combat patrol in Iraq will never be understood by the average American.

so instead of attacking the troops let's continue supporting them. and work on ways to get them home. we don't need this turning into another Nam were people are spitting on veterans. this only further divides us and helps the neocons win

It is a sad painful truth. But they both fight in stressful situations with all these deaths. Moreover, they are told what to do. They act in ways that they would normally not. Something worth thinking about. Hmmmmm...

I do not support such behavior and quite loathe it but I feel for all soldiers who fight politician wars.

I know many of these young Men and Women are strung out, nerve racked and can know doubt feel some sort of abandonedment or betrayal from their government.

However this is no excuse for their actions. Many of these senseless actions go hand in hand with senseless asshole actions we see or have seen here at home. Just because someone enlist in the military, does not mean that they no longer posses the extra large asshole gene.

These young men have no doubt had poor upbringings. I blame their parents. So many poor individuals enlist just to get out of the projects, trailer parks or back woods shacks. To get away from abusive parents or to be fed.The military is a quick get away for these kids.

My Daughter is in the NAVY. She is still the strong respectful individual that her Mother and I raised. She has told me many times about these disrespectful individuals. They joined to get away from their homelife, and now they are resentful against their choice.

Sometimes the military will re-shape an individual to maximize their character, but not always.

The standards of acceptance has been lowered to accept almost anyone. That alone is a dangerous within itself.

I know there are many many good, strong, respectful troops over there. However, it only takes a few to ignite a crowd and instill resentment.

This is what happens. Troops become hard. Emotions are suppressed. Death is always present. Stress is constant. This is what war does to people. That's why you don't go to war unless you have to. This is just another cost. This soldier needs help, not the ignorant judgment of clowns on DailyPaul. How about we get pissed at the asshole that lied and started the war? How about we get a little angry at ourselves, since we help pay for the war?

Troops we need you here at home. We will do everything we can to bring you home. God bless.

An explanation that I have spoken of before. When people feel disenfranchised (which our troops do) they act out in different ways. The "fringe" will act out in ways that are despicable. Some of our people here are considered fringe because they approach solutions in ways that many people would not. It is a release valve that is not condoned by most other people, but can be corrected by correcting the problems. Our troops have no rights. They are made to do things they don't want to do. Their behavior indicates it is really getting to them. They are filming it and don't care who ends up seeing it. They are fed up.

I don't even know the word for how that made me feel. Shame, disgusted, angry, sad, mad,embarassed.............

This is the end product of the shock culture so prevelent in our society. It is designed to remove your humanity . Howard Stern, is a prime example of shock jocking, no control under the guise of freedom of speech.

Folks on TV airing all their dirty laundry we are a sick nation! I don't have a TV anymore bc of sick , demorailzing shows like this. Plus that show jack ass, or is that dumb ass. People just don't understand what such "entertainment" is doing to this generation....it's sick, sick, sick!!

I know ALL soldiers aren't capable of this type of brutality, but one is all it takes to cast doubt and distrust on the entire group. That is just human nature to protect ones self against a possible threat.

Shouldn't the focus be on us and the individuals in our government who put them in this shithole war? Many of them are 18/19/20 year old boys under chronic stress and many have witnessed their friends killed or wounded. They are there for a year, two years. We are destroying the minds of our troops. They are in a civil war. Surrounded by enemies. Anyone of you here would be a very, very different person. Yes, what they did in this video is wrong, however, what the individuals did to start this war was far worse. Lets keep our focus on them.

two days ago i started a forum concerning marine soldier throwing puppy off a cliff and commented this was the tip of the iceberg....i asked them not to believe me but to look for videos concerning soldiers harming innocent iraqi civilians, dogs, cats, livestock etc and took quite a bashing,,,i was accused of several things by about half the people who responded back including being unpatriotic!!! the other half got what i was trying to say and were as shocked as i was......thank you for picking up the ball with this....there are some very sick people wearing military uniforms and then return here and don police uniforms,,,which may explain increasingly violent turn our police force has taken.....take care

These are our sons and daughters, brothers and sisters and they are terribly ill. They need our love and support, and an end to this war. How would you feel if you were a soldier who signed up to defend his beloved nation, and THEN figured out what we have figured out?

and it hurts our men and women in more then one way. The true crime is not the action of the soldier, it's our inability to stop individuals in our government from abusing their power. We are at fault also. We allowed our troops to go fight an illegal war and WE subjected them to the horrors of war. So Adam, take some responsibility. Sitting on the computer posting war footage isn't cutting it. What have you done to get our troops out of the hell that is Iraq?
