Do-Over in Florida and Michigan?
This is breaking news from NewsMax...what does it mean to us?
WASHINGTON — Officials in Michigan and Florida are showing renewed interest in holding repeat presidential nominating contests so that their votes will count.
The governors of both states are now saying they would consider holding a sort of do-over contest by June. So are top officials in Hillary Rodham Clinton's campaign.
That's a change from their previous insistence that the primaries their states held in January should determine how the state's delegates are allocated.
Clinton won both contests, but the results were meaningless since the elections were in violation of party rules. The Democratic National Committee stripped both states of their delegates for holding the primaries too early. The candidates agreed not to campaign in either state.

I'm in Michigan
If the Dems have a do-over, I believe Obama would win. He was not on the ticket for the primary so voters could only vote Hillary or "uncommitted". There was a big push to go to the polls and vote "uncommitted" to show support for Obama but it didn't really materialize.
Who elects party officials??
Just who made the national DNC/GOP parties "God" to be able to disenfranchise voters "by decree" due to the actions of the state DNC/GOP parties?
What are the ramifications for Sabrin's delegate slate? Can it simply be denied legitimacy or even entrance to the convention?
This election cycle will definitely be one for the history books-
We lost 1/2 our Republican delegates in Florida
If the DNC decides to allow a "do-over" then I would think there will be Republicans pushing the RNC to allow the same treatment and get all their delegates seated also. Honestly I think it is pretty stupid that the DNC and RNC can even make the decision on whether delegates get seated or not and when a state can hold its primary. Hopefully we can get enough of our own delegates to change this.
Just For Democrats...
though, by June, GOP voters may wish they had a do-over.
Michigan is an open primary isn't it?
Michigan Paulaholics should go and write-in Ron Paul's name if they have a do-over.
"We don't have to start a brand new revolution...All we have to do is restore the original Constitution." -Ron Paul
Only Open for Republican
You have to be Demb to vote in the Demb primary.
(just pronounce the e like a u)
Michigan is an open primary
According to the wikipedia entry, Michigan is an open primary. An open primary by definition allows voters to choose the party's ballot that they wish to vote on, regardless of party affiliation.
Therefore, how could the primary be "only open for Republican"? I think that you're mistaken.
But let's wait and see what happens. Maybe Ron Paul supporters will be able to cast a protest vote if the state of Michigan holds another primary election. I think it's fair to say that what I suggested might be possible.

Correction
Ok, sorry i was a little off. It is a modified open primary. Only Dems or Independents in Dem, Anybody in Republican primary. The Dems have slightly tighter rules for some dumb reason. So, registered Republicans CAN NOT vote in the Democratic primary but registered Dems CAN vote in the Republican primary.
"The national leaderships of the two major parties have never been entirely comfortable with those states having such "open" primary/caucus laws; to their minds, the only persons who- for the most part- should be entitled to vote in a state party's presidential primary or caucus are those who are registered members of the party: though- somewhat begrudgingly, perhaps- the concept that, in an "open" primary or caucus, those who are truly Independent by virtue of not being affiliated with either major party (or, for that matter, ANY party- even third parties) should be allowed to vote in either major party's presidential primary or caucus as they might choose (as long as they are not permitted to vote in both!) has seemingly become more and more acceptable."
