-Election day is coming (what you must do)

HELP KEEP THIS BUMPED!

It's important that people in the states/areas with upcoming elections continue working for the message! It's equally important to remember that McCain hasn't won the nomination -- and Ron Paul hasn't lost the nomination -- until after the Republican National Convention in September. This will ensure a brokered convention and will win Ron Paul supporting delegates.

Having been through all this, let me give you some tips.

WINNING YOUR PRECINCT...
1) It's very important to sign up as a Precinct Leader as soon as possible. You will receive a list of people in your area (by either zip code or precinct number) that have donated to Ron Paul and you will be able to contact them as a grassroots member of the campaign. Focus on the known supporters and get them to the voting booth and to the convention after your primary.

2) If there is a RP HQ (or meetup group) near you, go there to get free campaign material. You'll need about 1,500 slimjims that outline Paul's main message.

3) Print slips of paper showing the military's donations to all the candidates -- emphasize Paul's donations -- and attach one to each slimjim (time: 1hr. w/ a helper. You can print about five of these slips per page).

4) THREE DAYS BEFORE YOUR ELECTION...
Print out a map of your precinct and divide that into four sections. Get three helpers and assign one to each section. Put a slimjim on every door in your precinct. You will have your entire precinct covered in about three hours. The time will fly.
(You can staple a rubber band to the slimjim to hang it on doorknobs.)

5) The day before elections, use the Precinct Leader program to call people to urge them to vote for Ron Paul. There is a script available to use. If you get a machine, leave a short message, something like: "The grassroots support base has called you because you are a registered voter. Please remember to vote for the only candidate who truly believes, and consistently stands for, individual freedoms and liberty, low taxation, limited government and free market benefits. Please, cast your vote for Ron Paul [brief pause] for President. Thank you."

6) The day of elections, VOTE EARLY. Be sure to put a "Ron Paul for President" yard sign up while you're there. Also, be sure to pick it up after the convention.

7) Find the Precinct Leader in a neighboring precinct and arrange to swap precincts for the day after you've voted. Spend the day passing out Ron Paul info at his/her voting location and let him/her pass out info at your voting location. Those military donation slips will come in real handy here, too. They make a big statement with very few words! Make sure you stay the legal distance from the front door of the building.

CONVENTION INFO...
The location/time of the convention should be posted at your voting location from the moment the polls open.

Contact your local Ron Paul HQ or meetup group and ask if they are holding Precinct Convention Training. This is absolutely wonderful!

If you can get five or six people to your precinct convention, you'll usually have the majority. If you get ten people, you are awesome. Get as many RP supporters to the convention as possible.

Don't forget to bring resolutions to your convention! These are what start changing the Republican Party! They should exclude any mention of Ron Paul and conspiracy. They should be well researched and worded. An example is at the bottom of this letter.

Volunteer to transport Ron Paul supporters to the convention if they need a ride.

Take a list of names/contact info to your precinct convention. That way, as you meet new people you can check your list to see if they are Ron Paul supporters. Protect your list.

Arrive at your convention location thirty minutes early. While waiting for the convention to start, chitchat with everyone. Do not make Ron Paul a topic of conversation at the precinct convention, nor wear clothing/accessories that identify you as a Ron Paul supporter just in case you turn out to be the minority. Do you have a Ron Paul bumper sticker on your car? Take it off.

Your main goal is to get as many RP supporters as possible elected as a delegate from your precinct. This is relatively easy to do. Even if you're the minority, if you've talked to everyone and been nice they'll elect you as a delegate.

As soon as the floor is open for delegate nominations, nominate yourself and other RP supporters. The convention will vote for delegates in the order the names were added to the nomination list.

If the majority of the people at the convention are RP supporters, you can vote to elect yourselves as delegates and vote to block everyone else. But don't be too stingy...if there are 8 RP supporters and 10 delegate positions available, go ahead and elect two non-RP supporters. Be fair, but nominate and elect yourselves first.

Have fun! Whether they are RP supporters or not, most people at your convention will more-than-likely be first time participants, too.

Example of a Resolution:

Protect the Citizens of Oklahoma from Dog Bites

Whereas many dogs belonging to individuals have roamed the streets unattended; and

Whereas, thirty citizens have received dog bites during the month of February 2008; and

Whereas, many citizens cannot afford medical treatment; and

Whereas, lawsuits can be prevented by responsible ownership; therefore

Be it RESOLVED that the Republican Party of Precinct# ____ urge the legislature of the State of Oklahoma to write, enact and enforce laws that prevent any owned dog, whether owned by an individual(s) or company, from roaming streets unattended.

Be it further RESOLVED that the law prescribes a fence maintenance clause to ensure proper containment.

Be it further RESOLVED that the law prescribes a statewide leash law that requires walked dogs to be on a leash.

Be it further RESOLVED that the law prescribe a reasonable fine for such offenses.

Now, this would be more for a city ordinance rather than a statewide law, but you get the point.

The majority of the vote is 50% + one vote.
If there are ten people voting, half of that is 5.
5 + 1 vote = 6 votes.

If there are 10 people in the room, but 3 people don't vote, then only 7 people are voting...

Half of 7 is 3.5
3.5 + 1 vote = 4.5
(you will drop the ".5", so the majority is 4 votes)
