We Can Take Back Our Country with 30 people!

Folks I have been listening to the debate for sometime now and even though some fantastic ideas and promotions have come out of this movement, it seems we expend a lot of energy doing unproductive things also, myself included. I have been racking my brain looking for some magic bullet to overcome our dilemmas. And I have a solution, however I’ll get to that in a minute.
First let me say we have tried all the conventional methods. I have been in this fight for over twenty years. We have marched, we have petitioned, we have gone to court, we have pressured our reps and senators, we have done civil disobedience etc. etc., and they have all failed to accomplish anything significant.
It’s broken and all the conventional methods are not going to fix it, we are no longer represented by the politicians pure and simple and all the efforts to get their attention and to change no matter how well intentioned have been in vain when you boil it down. The push toward fascism and tyranny marches on.
Also our efforts to rally the American people have not worked either. Yes the media bias had been a problem but lets face it the majority of the American people are relatively happy with the status quo. They think; yes we have problems however things are not that bad. Yes as things get worse that may change some of their minds but it is unlikely to bring enough of them on board to effect real change. It is in fact more likely to frighten them into accepting more fascism as necessary to our survival.
Ok so how do we take back the country with 30 people? Consider this; all the actions mentioned above are like being on the outside of a fort throwing rocks. It accomplishes nothing. If we want to take the fort we must overthrow those who control it and seize it from the inside.
This brings me to my point. I went to my County Republican Central Committee meeting last month. And there were about 30-40 people there, mostly friendly and helpful. After observing and talking to folks I suddenly realized if I had about 20-30 friends with me we could infiltrate and take control of the committee. Not overnight mind you but in a relatively short time.
These are the folks that set the agenda, make up the platform, select delegates and run the fund raising etc. And they make up the state delegation, which makes up the national delegation and elects the officers of the state from governor to state and national reps to precinct committeeman. They do most things by a majority vote. They filled a vacant precinct committeeman slot right there in the meeting by a show of hands.
Imagine of you will 20 – 30 liberty loving individuals in every county in the nation attending their Republican Central Committee meetings learning the ropes and gradually moving into leadership positions? The impact would be fantastic! Of course it would take some time but this is the only way to seize power without violence. Seizing power is the only way we can take back our country. Don’t fight the Republican Party, Become the Republican Party! We can do it with 20 – 30 people in most cases. Yes maybe more will be needed in large cities but I bet a hundred would do it in the counties of most large cities. Actually if we just did it in about 80% of the counties it would work. We could have a significant amount of control by the midterm elections.
We have folks already doing just that in some states. We need to join them and make this a priority.
Now I know some folks are against saving the Republican Party so let me address that. I have nothing against the 3rd parties and I appreciate all the work and passion they have done. However they have been on the outside throwing rocks while the march to fascism and tyranny continues unabated. We have talked about it not being about party but about principle, so why save the Republican Party especially with what it has become? Principle over party is exactly why we should use the Republican Party to accomplish our goals. The party name doesn’t matter; only it resources and infrastructure that can help us reach our goals matters.
Let me say that the folks at the meeting I attended were good decent people they were just going along with the flow and buying into some of the lies of the Elite of the party. I bet some of them would side with us if we approach it right. If you ask them if they are against over taxation or want the borders sealed, and want limited government they would hardily agree.
Principle over party is exactly why The Republican party is the best vehicle to take back this country in the quickest and efficient manner. It doesn’t matter what label we put on the movement it only matters that we take back the reins of power as quickly as we can. The Republican Party already has the infrastructure to do so if we control it. If we tried to form a new party, or use an existing 3rd party we would essentially be starting from the ground up and trying to convince millions of Americans to join us. We have seen how well that works. Most Americans are not interested enough to change. By seizing control of the Republican Party we would gain those party voters who really don’t know what’s going on and just vote party line, they make up a huge voting bloc. We would also have a huge fund raising machine bigger then we already are and immediate national clout.
Don’t let past pride, and emotions of what the Republican elites have done using the party in the past keep us from taking back our country. If we insist on fracturing and going our separate ways and fail to act in unity it will be a crying shame. Especially when we could get about 30 people together and affect a real and lasting change. How do you eat an Elephant (literally)? One bite at time! Acting in unity is our strength. It really is that simple, not easy, but a simple plan we can readily accomplish if we go to work and do it! We have the numbers.
We have come up with some pretty amazing things to try and overcome the obstacles before us and I don’t want to discourage that innovation. However this simple method will do it faster then all of them combined. It’s not real sexy; it doesn’t seem like some great and noble thing. However it is where the rubber meets the road and will be effective. Also it really is necessary short of an armed revolution. Trust me we don’t want an armed revolution, those that do have never been in combat or seen a war torn nation. Just ask a combat vet.
In conclusion let me reiterate; don’t fight the Republican Party, become the Republican Party! We must do this now. Even Ron Paul is asking us now to become precinct committeemen. This is the only way. All the other ways scatter our efforts and energy in a million different directions dispersing them and effectively rendering them impotent. We must do it for our children and grandchildren, to preserve freedom and liberty for our posterity.

As one who favors the Trojan virus approach to take over the Central Committees...my question is why are we limiting our influence to one party? We are starting to influence the discussions on the subject of impeachment, which is starting to develop support in city and town councils, and in the state houses of legilslature in every state...

I think your suggestion is great. That is the best way to take back the party.
I attended the delegate selection process here in NM a few weeks back. There were only 2 Ron Paul supporters out of 57 in my ward. Those other 55 were all over the age of 60 and they voted for their friends to be delegates, (15 were allocated). The 2 young people didn't stand a chance. It was very discouraging to say the least. The only way that my ward will ever get new blood in there is if some of these people die. This may sound crude but it is the truth. I fear it may take 10 years or more for my ward to have any real change.
I find it ironic, that the old people say that the young people don't get involved in politics but when they do, they don't give them a chance. One young man was so upset that he didn't get voted to be a delegate he was broken hearted. It really was sad to see this.

A slate of GOP "regulars" was presented for consideration. So far, so good; anyone is free to offer a slate if they want. But then a motion was made to elect all the names on that slate first, and then fill the remaining delegate slots from the other candidates nominated. A young man -- RP supporter, I presume -- stood up and said that he objected on the basis that doing that would tend to keep out the many new people, like himself, who were there and hoping to have a chance to take part in the system. He said the regulars have been involved for years and so they don't need another chance as much as the new people need a first chance, to help them learn.
Someone else stood up and said the new people were already involved, just by being there at the district convention.
I couldn't read the overall reaction from the crowd to that exchange. However, debate was curtailed and the motion was voted on, and failed.

We would rekindle the hope, reunite the alienated and disenfranchised supporters, reinvigorate the donations and all positive enthusiasm back into the movement. Instead, you are locked in your old strategy thinking that yours in the only way to proceed. If it is as you say, principle over party, why not align with a constitutionally based party instead? Like attracts like. Believe me, if we all went Libertarian, we would not worry about the rocks, we would own the fort!

If we all went with the LP nothing would happen because the LP does not have the infrastructure and national clout to effect a change like the big two pure and simple. That's why they can't make a dent in a national election. Nothing against them I think it would b great it they could but that is just not reality.
Why would we want to waste time to reinvent the wheel when we can just take control of the bus? It's not about party name it's about principle and taking back our country in quickest most efficient manner possible.. Those that insist otherwise are spinning their wheels.

VENEZUELA was able to take back their country with a revolution and many of these people didn't even have running water. Maybe we are still too complacent.

The coup was funded by our government and lasted all of a day. The people of Venezuela knew their media was propaganda controlled as ours is. But somehow these people were able to take what was theirs and reinstall their president and Constitution.
They have 80% poor, we should be at that point. I hope this documentary serves as inspiration; Revolution can be successful.

I am a relative newcomer in a rural small town, yet I was elected as a delegate, had a resolution opposing emminent domain unanimously approved and nominated a candidate for County Commisioner who was also approved. The candidate is a Native American woman and the rest of the Republicans were all Whites. Outside of the nominee I knew none of the other party members.

I am not sure many read the front page anyway. Most come right to the forums. I certainly do.
I emailed him and asked him to read it and consider stickying it and he did. Sometimes you just need to ask. People including myself have been bumping your info regularly so relax a little. I know it can be frustrating, I am having trouble getting folks in my meet up to do much, but you can't brow beat folks no matter how frustrated you get, it just doesn't work.
You just have to persevere. Build it and they will come as the saying goes. Hang in there and don't let it get to you. You are doing important work keep it up! However also take a little R&R with family and friends after all they are what it is all about.

Members of our Orlando FL meetup are doing just that. They are not trying to take over but reintroducing ideas that the party has drifted away from. So far so good. I am very proud of them. Their last meeting involved at least 47 Ron Paul loving republicans. The organizer of our group is doing a wonderful job keeping us organized and together. I appreciate your thinking and your enthusiasm, but, What Kind of Evil Will You Have to Do while you are working your way up in the ranks of the party. If you act conscientiously and consistently for freedom you won't be allowed to advance. You will have to "pay-your-dues" to rise in the party. Political solutions almost always include these kind of compromises.
The only answer consistent with freedom is to apply freedom principals to tackle real-world problems with free market solutions. Politics is what people do when they don't want to (or can't) do the hard work of helping real people.

I went with Hawkiye to this meeting and he tells it straight. But we can not just attend one meeting. We must make a committment to ourselves, the RPR ideals, and to our nation to effect this change- and that means participating on a regular basis until the change becomes manifest.

Just came back from our Republican county convention this morning. These are good people and many of them are really Ron Paul Republicans and don't know it. I would join the Democratic Party in a heartbeat if that were the shortest route to taking back our country, but it is not.
The RP supporters that won't try to work within the GOP organization are playing into the hands of the establishment. They are victims of the divide and conquer strategy that has worked so splendidly for the CFR all these years. Well it isn't going to work anymore. Yes, we will lose some so-called patriots after this election, but they probably weren't going to be much help anyway. Taking over a political party is a lot of work, but the prize is freedom itself.

I would like to piggyback off everything you just stated, hawkiye. Me and a few fellow meetup groupies "infiltrated" our county Republican committee today. It was the first time I have ever attended a political meeting, and I'm pretty sure it was there first time as well. Anyways, there were only about 80 people there altogether (six of us were Ron Paul supporters). So if we gathered about 35 more people, we would own our county! I became a precinct captain, so now I guess I'm responsible for recruiting other republicans to our committee who live within my precinct. This will be a good chance for me to use this opportunity to also canvass for Ron Paul.
You guys can do this too, it's not that hard to attend a Republican meeting in your own county. This is a good forum for you to voice your concerns with the party. But before you voice you concerns, it will be very important that you establish rapport first. Remember, we're all Republicans who believe in less government control, right to bear arms, etc. So, establish yourself within the party first and foremost. People are more willing to listen to what you have to say, if they know you and feel comfortable with you. When you get better known within the party, then you will have better leverage to speak out and be heard!
Members of the GOP are in general decent respectable people, it's just that they're brainwashed right now. It's just a matter of finding out a way to switch their lights on.

I think that people should infiltrate the Democratic Party as well. Or really, any party that one feels most comfortable with, including Libertarian Party. I have a bunch of friends that would normally feel more comfortable among democrats, even though they've recently registered Republican to vote for Ron Paul. Getting these people to actively participate in the Republican Party is not going to happen. The Democratic Party, however, is a possibility. Remember, the elite stacked the deck against us and took over both parties. We need to do the same, lest it become a party battle all over again. As long as everybody holds on to the libertarian principles and takes control of the party of their choice, we can do it. Just a suggestion for those Ron Paul Democrats out there. BTW, I am a life long Libertarian, but will now be doing my best to take over the Republicans, because I feel more comfortable there. But I would have no problem infiltrating the Democrats too.

If someone had told me last year that all I had to do was inquire and I would become a GOP committee person, I wouldn't have believed them. But it wasn't until the last few months that I knew what I would even do with the power if I had it. Ron Paul has woken up so many people to the dangers we face and a renewed awareness of what we can still do to avert disaster. I signed up last week with my local GOP. As I'm reading all over the comments here, it was unbelievable how eager they were to have me.
This should be an example of how the neocons took control of our country. There has been so much apathy on the part of people who believe in liberty. But nature abhors a vacuum and since no good people wanted to work to preserve our freedoms, the evil ones moved in to claim our rights.

This IS the Ron Paul plan. It's VERY VERY easy and won't take much of your time. Just look at it as a small side job that you need to do once in a while. A few dinners and meetings and elections and you got it. It's for the future--our kids and grandkids. So just DO IT.

I'm not even nervous. I'm 25 years old and never participated in anything related to politics in my life, but this is the only logical approach to getting our ideals implemented.

We could enact the changes that we want from the bottom up, not from top down (which hasn't been working so far, according to the primary and caucus results).

Party doesn't matter anymore but there is no reason why we shouldn't use the resources that are available within the GOP to attain our goals. I have talked about with in emails to my meet up groups and sadly have not heard a peep out of any but a very few of them. It will be hard to gather our 20 or 30 per city but I will try.

that I've read all day. I am commited to taking my party back, and signed up to be a delegate in Oregon. The Oregon Republican Party is almost $300,000 in debt, and had to recently move to a smaller office space. Do they not realize that the party is in trouble? And the best that we can do is insane McCain? The revolution is in our hands-be part of it!!!!

That's what we're talkin' about in our state. I'm sure this discussion and plan are widespread. Precinct by precinct - committee by committee. By the mid-term elections MAJOR impact can be made.
Even if Ron Paul were to be President, the fundamental ideologies would not change, because those changes have to begin at the local level. Yes, he would have the bully pulpit and would bring the troops home, but he would be fighting an unwinnable battle to institute legislative change. Things like competing currencies, eliminating income tax, rescinding NAFTA & GATT, etc.
One benefit to him being back in Congress is he should have some like-minded company this term, plus he is a senior member. Also he can continue to bash the Bernanke and the FED. America will know Ron Paul!

To the point about being back in Congress - during his telephone conference call (3/5) in MO he mentioned that he is gaining support in Congress where at one time he was quite literally alone. He sounded almost incredulous as he spoke; it's been a long time coming for this elder Statesman to see this kind of fruit from his labor. Good things are happening!
