Pauls Missed McCain Knockout?
John McCain survived the New Hampshire primary thanks to receiving the support of the bulk of Republicans opposed to the Iraq war. McCain also did much better with the antiwar voters than other GOP candidates in the crucial Florida primary.
Ron Paul, who announced he was dropping out of the race last night, never made his opposition to the Iraq War the key theme of his own campaign. (He did superbly when asked about this issue in debates or interviews, but most voters never saw the debates or interviews).
After McCain had emerged as a near-frontrunner before the Florida primary, a single 30-second ad highlighting his warmongering could have had a huge impact. Even if the Paul campaign only paid to have it broadcst a single time, it would likely have gotten picked up and frequently rebroadcast as a new story (the same tactic other candidates used).

Is this real ? McCain supporters have lost it !
EDIT: I just realized this might be a obama supporter site, sorry for the post if this is correct.
I read this on a blog, if I'm not mistaken, it's from a phonecall or letter. Man, McInsane had better not be the next pres... I can't even finish the last word.
"Senator McCain is begging all registered voters and illegals out there to please, please, please not vote for Barack Obama in November because that Condoleezza Rice-look-a-like wife of his with the bad hair is an idiot with a learning disability!"
"Thank God John McCain's old-as-dirt-butt is smart enough to know this because his 2008 political slogan is..."

This was a msm article and
This was a msm article and not mine. Checl the headline over 20 papers have said paul has suspended, ended, or dropped out. Including Fox and Abc.
New Hampshire,Vermont, & Maine all had big Anti War Groups and according to MSM they voted for McCain and Obama.
Everyone is drawing their own conclusion about what Paul said but we can pretty much agree thats its pretty much over. We can look forward to the convention then its on to Congress, Senate and local postitions.
FL & OH Dems should have voted for Paul then their vote would count
Put that coffee down! I am not ****ing with you.
We all need to get over the past and move toward future victory. If you have any doubts that we are still in this race and any doubts that we can win then you must watch this clip and get back out there and sell Ron Paul.

"Victory for liberty! That is our goal, and nothing less. -- Ron Paul, December 17, 2007"
well actually what happened
well actually what happened is, DIEBOLD and McCain committed vote fraud and stole Ron Paul's votes....
haha... that makes more sense I think...
did they ever figure that out?
The original post of this
The original post of this thread mentioned New Hampshire. It brings back bitter memories.
In retrospect, I don't think that the campaign as a whole was able to fully recover after the disappointing results of the Iowa caucus and especially the New Hampshire primary.
Most of us expected Paul to come in first or second in NH, and the most pessimistic were saying third place. When Paul ended up coming in 5th place, it hit us like a slap in the face because we knew full well how active the grass roots had been there.
We realized that no matter how hard or innovatively you campaign, if you hit the people with too much truth, they will react like turtles going into their shells.
Yes, I think the official campaign HQ could have done a better job supporting the grass roots, and yes, I think that Dr. Paul could have performed substantially better in the debates. But the reason why McCain is going to be the Republican nominee and not Ron Paul is the American electorate, who are so easily swayed by what they see on TV, by what they hear on the radio, and what they read in newspapers.

I've seen interviews with
I've seen interviews with McCain where he says there will be more wars and the American people don't care if we are in war for 100 years, 1000 years or 10000 years! The guy is a lunatic if he thinks that is the truth!
I think most Americans are more worried about being able to pay their bills as well as having our government NOT squander our retirements.
Regarding RP missing the knockout, I believe that is still on the way.
People know
he's for the war. If you are in a republican state, he is going to win! The bulk of the GOP (even though it is shrinking) still believe that we have to be at war in Iraq. Many young kids believe we were attacked by Iraq on Sept. 11. No one bothers to correct this thinking because they dont even concern themselves with it. They like to get their news in sound bites, because they dont have time for news. American Idol, or Lost, or Survivor, is on and we dont want to miss that. The sound bites say McCnuts is winning, and they believe the worst thing that could happen is Hillary for President, or any democrat. Because any Republican, no matter what he has done is better than a Dem. This is the mentality we are dealing with. I cant count the times I've been told I'm wasting my vote if I vote for RP. And they can't believe that I don't give a crap if McCain, Hillary, or Obama wins! They just dont think!
Your conclusion is irrational!
New Hampshire and Florida voted for Mc Insane because they thought he was anti war? It is irrational to believe this. My mother knew the Collier brother years ago who wrote the book, Vote Scam. With all do respect I do not believe that Black Box has the right approach to outing the vote tampering that occurred in this presidential election. Objectivist logic tell us A is A it can not be B. Your argument is incorrect because even if Dr. Paul's anti war message was not widely known, certainly McCain's 100 year war proposals were. As you know he did support the "surge" which cost $800,000 per day to bribe the opposition in the surge area so the MSM could say it was working. But you can not get that far. New Hampshire was blanketed with "Live Free or Die Volunteers". It is a small state and the door to door contacts and the direct mail reached almost everyone. The enthusiastic Ron Paul supporters waved signs all over the state. There were full page adds both in U.S.A. Today and a local newspaper. My brother, who had friends there believed that Ron Paul would certainly place in the top three. It is incongruous that people voted for McCain in New Hampshire because they believed him to be anti war. In Florida they say that if you win the vote in Central Florida you win Florida. Dr. Paul had active and vocal meet up groups in this area who funded 5 billboards and were present on the local media and at universities. An Orlando paper featured my cousin Corey Martinez in a two page article about students for Ron Paul. My brother, who is part owner of a Central and Northern Florida newspaper called Liberty Sentinel participated in numerous radio broadcast with call in participation and the support for Dr. Paul was strong. The Saint Petersburg debate had an amazing turnout with planes in the sky and boats in the harbor displaying Ron Paul signs. It was at this event that Romney's 20 supporters, with the help of GOP officials generated almost 900 straw poll votes to beat Dr. Paul who had about 600 actual voters and a crowd of over 1000 supporters. My brother filmed the cheating and it may still be on U Tube. No evidence of support for McCain was visible at any of the Florida debates and just a few supporters could be found for Romney and Huckabee. I do not believe that McCain won Florida. Now lets get to the most blaring and obvious vote fraud. How could Ron Paul have won in his district by 70% and then only 1 out of 5 people who voted for him for his congressional seat voted for him for president? If you vote for Dr. Paul and you live in his district your political philosophy is that of liberty, sound money, non intervention, small government returning the power to the people, it is everything that McCain does not stand for. Why are you so willing to believe the altered reality presented to you by the despots in control of our media and our government? In a recent article debating the legitimacy of the election process in Russia, Professor Nicolai N. Petro from the Department of Political Science at Washburn Hall, University of Rhode Island state: "In Russia all presidential candidates get 42 hours of free television air time, contrasting this with the United States and the main stream media that limits it's coverage to two political parties, effectively removing "marginal" parties and candidates (Ron Paul, for example) from our political consciousness. Russian electoral law does not allow public media entities to do that. Consequently, as the number of parties registered for an election expands, the issue of fairness and balance will multiply exponentially." There is no doubt that our media is controlled by the power brokers that create the fantasy of the two party system as a smoke screen for the tyranny that is occurring, the total despotic control of our political process. It makes no difference what hand picked CFR One Worlder candidate get "elected" the men behind the curtain are in control. This election was rigged. I would not recount ballots to prove it I would go to Dr. Paul's congressional district, door to door and get affidavits of the people who voted for Dr. Paul as a Congressman and McCain for President. I do not believe that those people exist. Let's prove it.

[EXPLETIVE DELETED] YOU!
"We don't have to start a brand new revolution...All we have to do is restore the original Constitution." -Ron Paul
Dude, I respectfully submit that you are so wrong
RP has not dropped out. The anti-war stance was very forceful and it hurt him with many Republican voters, a fact which anyone who caucused will confirm. The anti-war issue is directly linked to the economic issues, which are going to carry RP and his delegates to the RNC. The MSM is successfully distracting Joe Average from the debacle in Iraq with crap about Hillary and Obama, American Idol and other ridiculous drivel. The rapid deterioration of our currency and economy will hit Joe Average where it hurts very soon, maybe days, weeks or months from now, but it will happen. And we, all of us, must be ready to sieze the opportunity.
Why???
Why are people still trying to convence us that Dr. Paul has dropped out? It is an attempt to break up the Supporters. When you read in a post that Ron Paul has quit, ignore that post, it is most likely written by a Neocon Puppet. "IF"an that's a "BIG IF" Dr. Paul does drop out the MSM will be running it ever 5 min. and RP Supporters know this. MSM will use it as propaganda every chance they get.

McCain KNOCKOUT!
The best way to handle McCain is just the way Paul is doing it. McCain will knock himself out. The latest report on Huffingtonpost, com is that he lost his temper with a NYT reporter. Worth a read. He is known "Senator Hothead" -- and during the next 6 months he will reveal himself to Republicans, even the neoconned Republicans, as a sure loser -- broke and scandal-ridden. Ron Paul's ideas will be out there. and Paul, who will still be in the race, can emerge as the only attractive alternative for a G.O.P. deprived of McCain. Needless to say Bush's boys will lead us on to further economic and military defeats. Paul will look better and better. As to the Democrats, the fight of sex and race will end in a bitter victory with the remaining candidate emerging deeply wounded. Paul will continue, and, I would surmise, suddenly use up his campaign cash in a media publicity blitz just prior to the Republican convention in September. Can't he just come out and say this? Or tell us more clearly that he is still in the race? No, there is no need at the present moment to do that... best to let the MSM concern themselves with reporting on McCain and the Hillary/Obama set-to. Trust him. He is intelligent and knows just what he is doing. Be patient. Contribute to his campaign if you can. Keep up the yard sign, and don't tear off the bumper sticker, and enjoy watching McCain implode.
Intellectual Ammunition necessary for the battle of ideas!
Does anyone here think that the Republican Party which amounts to 65million republicans, will rally behind Ron Paul if we succeed in nominating him in Minneapolis? I think there is no "if" about it and I should have said "when!"
I encounter an endless stream of people who have heard Ron Paul and would vote for him but are not active in the R3volution yet. They just say that he doesn't get the votes or doesn't have a chance. It is up to any of us who care enough to join in the effort to make sure what we want to happen happens!
Once Ron Paul gets the nomination I expect that will result in an upsurge in support amongst our countrymen. More will contribute and more will join in our endeavor. Even the media will be jolted out of their ignorance and must report on the existence of our movement's vigor to have pulled off the coup of historical proportions.
I do wish that our movement instills in Ron Paul supporters the desire to learn more about Austrian economics by reading the works of Ludwig von Mises. There is a website devoted to the ideas of von Mises which I am sure you can find by googling.
Ayn Rand's newsletter introduced her admirers to Ludwig von Mises by reviewing several of his books: Planning for Freedom and Planned Chaos and Human Action. Her articles and essays in The Virtue of Selfishness and Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal and For the New Intellectual would also be worth reading especially her essays on Man's Rights which also contends that the rights of human beings are not granted by governments but are natural based on the nature of a human being. Her contention is that human beings are characterized by the possession of a volitional conceptual consciousness. It is that fact which gives rise to the meaningfulness of the concept of morality in the first place. Notice her concept of human being includes those of either gender and every color, creed and belief. She is an advocate of reason and rational evidence and of a society based on the rights of individuals to their own life liberty and property and shares Ron Paul's commitment to the principles of the U.S Constitution.

That now shows him as out

Really Where You Troll !!!
Latinos for Ron Paul
Sheesh
Sorry, rubbing my eyes, I thought I saw something different, weird, yep, he's still in there.
The media
is the problem here. All this other brilliant reasoning is for not.
Also disagree
First of all, he didn't drop out. He said the campaign is winding down, which it is. What do you expect hi to do? McCain isn't going to debate him. The primaries are almost finished. There is nothing to do now but wind down the campaign and work on phase II while we wait to see what happens at the convention.
Secondly, on what do you base your conclusion that McCain got tha anti-war vote?
Finally, my experience going door to door was that very few people even knew who Ron Paul was. Those that did were well aware of his anti-war position.
Besides, if anything wakes up the sheep this year it will be the economy, not the war.
And, speaking purely from poll numbers, Republicans FAVORED the war.
SO I conclude that your postmortem is all wrong. Including the fact that the patient isn't dead.
disagree
Considering the treatment Dr Paul got he did good. Media blackouts, backroom deals, smear campaigns, ignoring, ridiculing, ganging up on, not invited to some debates. voter fraud and he's still hanging in there.
He's an amazing man. I don't think America will realize how great of a man he is until he's gone.
AMEN Justcomehome AMEN!
I think about all of that every single day.
