Stop ! We Are Sounding Like a Bunch of Bickering 10 yr. olds !
This is a perfect way for this rEVOLution to collapse. Who cares who says this about that. This finger pointing and bickering is driving the MSM. Don't we see the negativity of it all ? Come on people, we have a rEVOLution to continue ! RON PAUL is our catalyst. Yes, donate get out an become a delegate if nothing else just to see how the process works, so we can get our people into Congress and other state and local positions, This is where the "change" will take place ! We need to work together for this movement to have effect on this country. So what's it going to be ? Act like children or be true revolutionaries ?
GOD BLESS US ALL
I apologize for my Ranting
Sorry I got out of hand. I had just heard from a strong supporter (a good friend in Grants Pass), who has been donating all along that Dr. Paul was no longer IN IT and that his spokesman had confirmed it. No, I'm not his x-wife I'm my husband's first wife. The good news from an Oregon e-mail that just came in is saying 'THE GOOD NEWS IS DR. PAUL AND HIS SON RAND MAY BE ABLE TO COME TO VISIT OREGON BEFORE OUR MAY 20th PRIMARY'. He is too smart to quit. I beg your forgiveness.
Why not just say that Ron Paul quit?
He may as well have said that.
Here is what he said:
“Dropping out is not accurate,”said Jesse Benton, Paul’s presidential campaign spokesman, by phone.
In the same breath, however, Benton said Paul acknowledges he won’t be this country’s next president and that Sen. John McCain secured the party’s nomination.
These were his words. Does that fire you up? Does it make you want to go out there and make Ron Paul the next presidents elect when you got the campaign manager saying he won't be the next president!
Do these people know anything about human nature?
I don't know about Benton, friend or foe?
AGAIN :
BENTON WAS FIRED!!!!
A better approach
Wonder why they didn't come out with a video saying, ok, folks, i'm not dropping out per se, i'm officially staying in the campaign, just not going to be running quite as fast.
I don't like hearing from the campaign that mc "secured the party’s nomination" because, as I understand it, significant numbers are unbound and he only has a handful of bound delegates to work with.
While ppl are acknowledging things, I'd like to see McCain come to terms with the fact that there isn't any enthusiasm behind him, people see him as mentally unstable, a devious conniver, and he ought to say, yes, I'm in it for now but I really don't intend to actually be president because nobody actually wants me, they are holding their noses, so i'm going to drop out at the last minute and give it to Ron Paul, a guy with real principle, a guy people get excited about.

I'd like to ask the young Benton (too easy going to be running a national campaign) to read http://www.dailypaul.com/... and consider resigning very soon.
I think Lysa
is Jesse Benton's ex-wife or something. Wow.
This campaign has gone underground. That's what Dr. Paul said when he said traditional victory is unavailable to us. He was telling us that we are pissing in the wind trying to get the media to get on board. They won't.
Now let's get out there and get our guy elected.
'Live for yourself, there's no one else more worth living for,
Begging hands and bleeding hearts
Will only cry out for more...'

NO LONGER WORKS FOR THE CAMPAIGN!!!!!!!

Benton should have been replaced 6 months ago. Too little too late.

Ron Paul says not so fast.
Despite reports indicating otherwise, the Texas Republican is not ending his long-shot campaign for presidency, Paul’s top spokesman said Friday.
“Dropping out is not accurate,”said Jesse Benton, Paul’s presidential campaign spokesman, by phone.
In the same breath, however, Benton said Paul acknowledges he won’t be this country’s next president and that Sen. John McCain secured the party’s nomination.
Paul plans to use his leftover campaign money, grassroots popularity and energetic support to shape the national debate and further spread his message, Benton said.
On Tuesday, Paul handily lost the Victoria County and Texas Republican presidential primaries to McCain, an Arizona senator.
Two days later, Paul addressed supporters during a 71/2-minute video message posted to his presidential campaign Web site.
During his online talk, Paul thanked supporters, said their efforts led to many victories and that his campaign is winding down.
Almost immediately, reports surfaced that Paul is bowing out of the presidential race.
That’s not the case, Benton said.
“We’re winding down the campaign, but he’s still very encouraging of grassroots support around the country in moving forward,” Benton said. “The presidential campaign will be the vehicle.”
Toni Marek, a 29-year-old Victoria stay-at-home mom, is a vocal grassroots Paul supporter.
“It’s not over by a long shot,”Marek said Friday. “His campaign will be used as a vehicle to spread his message even further – less government, less taxes and more freedoms for us.”
Marek blames the media for burying Paul’s message and for skewing what she called campaign victories and vast support.
“It’s upsetting the way the media is portraying his victories and the number of people listening to what he has to say,” she said. “It’s upsetting to see it ignored by the media.”
Paul garnered 5 percent of the Texas vote on Tuesday. He lost to McCain, who garnered 51 percent of the vote.
Still, Marek said Paul’s message is catching on.
“His message is logical,” she said. “The government is being very badly run.”
Mary Ann Wyatt, the county Republican Party chairwoman, said Paul’s continued campaign could benefit her party if voters are drawn to the right.
She declined to say whether she agrees with his decision to stay in the race.
“I think that’s his business, to be real honest,” Wyatt said.
Paul was unavailable for comment on Friday.
Benton, however, said Paul will use leftover presidential campaign funds to help spread his message, but it’s undetermined how all the money will be spent.
Some of the money will pay for Paul’s campaign travel, full-time campaign staff and for political action committees.
“He’s got his Liberty PAC, a political action committee established for Constitution-minded candidates, and he could give money to Republican candidates,” Benton said. “There are a lot of options. Of course, we’re still spending money to send him around the country.”
Steve Weissman, a policy director for the Campaign Finance Institute in Washington, D.C., said by phone that Paul has the legal right to continue to do what he’s doing.
“He can use the money to campaign for office and give the money to party committees,” Weissman said. “He can make transfers without limitation to national, state and local political parties and charitable organizations.”
As an example, he said, “Hillary Clinton used her senatorial money for her presidential campaign.”
Candidates, however, cannot use political contributions for personal use, he said
“You can’t use it for things like country club memberships, health club dues and mortgages – that sort of thing,” Weisman said.
Benton, meanwhile, said it’s unlikely Paul will endorse McCain.
And this continued campaign is not a sign Paul will run for president again in four years, Benton said.
“It’s awfully tough to think he’ll do that. He was reluctant to do it this time around,” Benton said. “At this point in his life, he’s more interested in educating people and being a standard bearer of the message.”
During the campaign – which lifted Paul from relative national obscurity to the front pages and TV spotlight – the congressman learned a lot, his spokesman said.
“We learned that a lot of Americans out there want to return to our Constitution,” he said. “We also learned that the freedom message is very popular and can spread.”

Why didn't they just announce...
Why didn't they just announce...
"While it's true Ron Paul's campaign for the presidency has reached an end, the revolution set forth by Ron Paul will continue in the form of volunteer recruiting, continuing to get the word out on a series of positive steps we all can take to pull our teetering country back from the abyss of an America without an effective Constitution, an America involved in war without end, and an America with an economy in shambles.
"We ask that you join with us to right the wrongs that have been caused in the name of the Republican Party and the Democratic Party by taking action today... please join to help make America whole again.
"Visit ronpaul2008.com to learn how you can turn our great nation around once more. Thank you!"
Why Did Benton......
feel it necessary to add ANYTHING to Ron Paul's word's yesterday? These kind of "Keystone Cops" flubs could dry up fund raising and discourage potential delegates, not to mention dropping Dr. Paul's popular vote number in the remaining primaries to zip.
I talked to Jesse Benton Today.
I talked to Jesse Benton today and he told me all he said is what Ron Paul said and that was the campaign is winding down. Do not listen to the media, they will always spin it.
Peace,Robert
So why is
Benton spinning it? He's a disaster. What a creep!!
needs to keep going!
needs to keep going!
HOW BOUT' WE LET RAND PAUL SAY IT...
by Rand Paul MD | March 8, 2008
Reports that Ron Paul has quit the Presidential Race remind me of Mark Twain's famous quote, "Reports of my death are greatly exaggerated." The Ron Paul Presidential campaign continues, albeit at a different pace.
What does that mean?
Ron Paul will continue to contest the remaining primaries. Ron Paul's name will be on all the remaining state ballots. Ron Paul volunteers are encouraged to become precinct captains, delegates to state and national conventions, and to try pass Constitutional proposals to each state's Republican platform.
For example, volunteers in each state should try to attach amendments such as the following: Republicans believe that war should only be fought after a proper Declaration of War by Congress. Another possible platform idea is that: Republican Congressmen are expected to vote against any federal budget, Republican or Democrat, that is not balanced.
Want to have some fun? Just imagine the fun when the debate begins on these ideas.
Is Ron Paul still campaigning for president? Yes. Ron Paul has tentative plans to campaign in Pennsylvania and Kentucky. Ron Paul will also likely appear in other states that have remaining primaries.
The press is reporting that Ron Paul has quit the race. This is not true. Ron Paul's video simply acknowledges that the campaign will continue but will also transform into additional activities such as education and supporting other candidates. In Kentucky we just held precinct conventions and Ron Paul Republicans won hundreds of precinct captains. In Kyle Texas, Craig Young upset the establishment choice for Republican County Chairman.
The Ron Paul Revolution lives on! Victory comes in many forms. Help shape what the Ron Paul revolution becomes.
Independent Run
Ron should run independent.
Otherwise his run for president is plainly over.
He's saying he's "winding down his campaign" but "it's not over." This is crap. Be clear. Don't say you are running for president unless you are seriously running. Not this "keep the debate going" bullshit.
Get rid of
Benton - he's incompetent. This is critical - who will send money now after listening to that mouthpiece?
People KNOW the TRUTH....

STFU You have no idea what
STFU You have no idea what you're talking about.
HIS MUST SPEAK AT THE CONVENTION
If he declares an independent run now he will not be able to do that. WE NEED THAT FACE TIME!
You think Ron Paul was ignored before, wait until he declares himself an independent. The convention is the only forum that will allow Ron to speak his message to a CAPTIVE audience not necessarily there to see him. Everyone there WILL hear his message, they may even listen to it.
If he still does not get the nomination but the voting is close, that would be the time to make that call.
Also, I have said this before, if the Rally is hugely successful, he my be rejuvenated enough to say that an independent run is still possible if the nomination is not secured at the convention.
We have our tickets, let not throw them away.

I Agree... flat response from Benton
Benton's responses were so flat and uninspiring - was he taken out of context?? Here's what PressTV.ir had to say:
Paul gives up race, not revolution

Republican Ron Paul
Republican presidential hopeful Ron Paul's spokesman has announced that the Texas congressman is ending his race for the White House.
"We are acknowledging that Ron will not be the nominee and that we are winding down the campaign," said Jesse Benton, Paul campaign's communication manager.
The announcement came as Senator John McCain clinched the Tuesday's primaries and became the presumptive GOP nominee.
However, Benton said the campaign encourages supporters to participate in the primary process adding that Paul would appreciate requests from supporters to speak.
"We still think we can influence the debate and build an organization moving forward that brings the GOP back to its roots," Benton said.
"We must remember, elections are short-term efforts, Revolutions are long-term projects," said the libertarian-leaning Paul.

Benton's choice of language
Benton's choice of language is defeatist. He should have been booted out by Ron so many months ago. He's like toxic sludge.
benton's choice of language
i agree.

You want to take things out of context.....
Watch this and forward to 08:18,

Ron Paul says he does not want the stupid job, but he will answer to his calling and do his duty like he did when he was in the Air Force. I am sure he did not want that stupid job either, but he still did it with pride and did his best.
I have Read Thomas Jefferson did not want this stupid job either.
NEVER SURRENDER!
Are you not able to see
Are you not able to see Benton's quotes in this article you post...are the very things RP said in his video.
This report is the same as ABC/CNN reports in that it uses statements out of context...
Where media is spinning is taking RP & Bentons comments OUT OF THE WHOLE.
Just go read the article
What Benton says is still not what he should have said. Basically it is saying the run for the presidency is over, but the run for the message will continue. All of us here are saying the run for the presidency is NOT over. Benton is saying it is.
Why should his supporters
become delegates, PCP, Precinct leaders and keep donating money? Why would RP say get as many delegates as possible??? BENTON IS A CREEP AND SHOULD GO WORK FOR FOX NEWS
In case you have not heard, Then just sit back and watch...

WHAT ARTICLE ARE YOU
WHAT ARTICLE ARE YOU READING???
...READ AGAIN....
After RP's 7 minute video....the article say..."Almost immediately, reports surfaced that Paul is bowing out of the presidential race."
THEN IT SAYS....
That’s not the case, Benton said.“We’re winding down the campaign, but he’s still very encouraging of grassroots support around the country in moving forward,” Benton said. “The presidential campaign will be the vehicle.”
The article's title is "Paul for prez: It ain’t over yet."
The author---was clear about Benton's words....but you are NOT?
again....Benton was reiterating RP's video words...'winding down'--CNN took Benton's words (as well as RP's ) completely out of context.
BENTON SAYS
"We are winding down the campaign" then he says "THE CAMPAIGN WILL BE THE VEHICLE" - What's that supposed to mean? DO WE SUPPORT A CAMPAIGN OR A VEHICLE??? Who will donate now? Anyone out there? You can spin it all you want. He's a creep and does not know what he's doing or SAYING.
I'm Still Gonna Donate!!!
Yes I will donate and participate and rest assured many will! Keep the faith sweetie ;-)

Did you read this part???
"Benton said Paul acknowledges he won’t be this country’s next president and that Sen. John McCain secured the party’s nomination.
Paul plans to use his leftover campaign money, grassroots popularity and energetic support to shape the national debate and further spread his message, Benton said."
Personally, I think Dr. Paul is saying, as he has always said, that he isn't doing it, we are. The ball is in our court, as it always has been, and he will serve if we get him in.
EXACTLY
What is important to realize is that Ron Paul is not taking himself out; he has his doubts, but he WILL be speaking at the convention. Also, I believe if the turnout in Washington is hugely successful, that my may be fuel he needs to get his campaign in high gear while others have spent all their money.
This is the CALM before the STORM!
There is a saying; when your enemies are destroying each other--you stay out of their way. When the dust settles, Ron Paul will STILL be standing.
Right on
.
Yes, I read that part...and
Yes, I read that part...and did YOU notice the writer did NOT put that as a quote from Benton? So...did Benson really say that?
