What an awesome

interview!

Still not Endorsing Sid Vicious

Still not ruling out "third-party" run or "kicking-and-screaming" scenario. Still deftly and skillfully campaigning for Republican support, knowing full well that once Republicans make an emotional investment in Dr Paul in the primary they are more apt to vote for him again in November.

The Good Doctor can beat both Clinton/Obama & McCain/Leiberman.

Thank you!

:-)

They keep mentioning it

This is the 3rd time since the live interview when I've seen CNN report at least 30 seconds about the interview.

They probably think they have a news scoop...

...on RP still being in the race (since everyone else seems to think he's dropped out).

Great interview! I love that he slams McManiac and

Obomba! He totally exposed both of them! And that grin on his face was priceless! He looks so much better than in that video on Thursday, and absolutely cleared up any questions lingering from all the confusion last week. What are the odds we can overcome McCain's delegates or they'll desert? Guess we'll find out in September...

Ron Paul at CNN Morning Interview Transcript

http://www.cnn.com/video/...

Transcript of the Interview:

RP : It’s not over. It’s certainly winding down. There are a lot less primaries left. Super Tuesday has passed and McCain has the nominal number. But you know, if you are in a campaign for only gaining power that is one thing. If you are in campaign to influence ideas in the future of the country, the campaign is never over. So this has been a tremendous vehicle for us. We have gotten 350 thousand people together. I tell you what, they don’t want to quit. They want this. This is just the beginning. They are very much involved
in influencing the party, and getting involved, and becoming candidates. So the true revolution on the change of the party as well as change of the country, is ongoing. So we feel very good about it, which means I am still in the race but certainly in a manner that is less energetic than it was six months ago.
There were so many primaries.

CNN: but the bottom line is though, you’re going to continue to contest in the upcoming primaries?

RP : Sure I will go and Pennsylvania is coming up and North Carolina is coming up with a lot of supporters there. I feel more or less obligated because there might be 30,000 volunteers in Pennsylvania waving signs. I don’t feel good walking away from them. Some of them actually believe that a lot of good will come from these, and a lot more has come to this campaign that I ever dreamed. I didn’t think that it would last that long, or would energize the many or raise so much money. So we are really excited about what is going on.

CNN: So Congressman, so when people say, ron paul is……. out of the presidential race…… that’s true, not true ,partly true? How would you describe it?

RP: well, I would think in a nominal sense, you know one of the odds was overcoming delegates of John McCain or his delegates discerning , so that way is over. But the campaign to get maximum number of votes and the maximum amount of delegates to participate in writing platforms and talking about the future, I mean, I think we are very much involved and very much alive.

CNN: So you’re still trying to influence this race, you’re still trying to get your issues out there, there are some people who are saying that the best way you can do that is to will be to launch a third party candidacy or a independent candidacy. What do you say?

RP: well, I don’t think it’s very practical. I think the Republican deserves to have a at least a conservative to vote for. Right now, the Conservative base does not support John McCain because he is identified more with the liberal democrats. So therefore why should they be disenfranchised. Although you know the odds are slim but they still have the right to vote for somebody that stands for traditional republican conservative principles, limited government, personal liberty. I means this is something the republican used to brag about and preached so they deserve a chance to vote for that.

CNN: so McCain is out there in the campaign trail now, saying that he is trying to unify the party, he is trying to re-energize the party, are you suggesting he is not the guy to do that?

RP: Well, I would suggest that unity might be secondary to principle. I mean what do we believe in, I mean if you can unify a party and reject your principle, what is unity worth?
I would say it’s a healthy thing to have a discussion and debate that is the campaign is all about.

CNN: but will you support John McCain?

RP: I am not unlikely to support John McCain unless he changed his views. I mean he does not represent anything I talked about for 30 years: Non-intervention foreign policy, personal liberty, civil liberties, Free market, no McCain/Feingold, no child left behind. I mean he doesn’t stand for any of those things. So how could I reject everything I talked about for 30 years and galvanized 350,000 people, say…ah Ok now it’s all over, unity is the most important thing. Now I endorse John McCain. Nobody would understand that. And I certainly would have a difficult time adopting to that.

CNN: Well the flip side of that coin, you are the only
Republican calling for a withdraw from Iraq would your supporters, you’re not going to become the president and be in a position to effect that, would they be better off voting for democratic candidate?

RR: Oh I don’t think so, because I don’t think they are very sincere. I mean if you look at Obama’s voting record, he has voted not to end the war, he has voted to finance the war. So his rhetoric he is playing to the people that come my way, but he is every bit as much as an intervention. He wants to send more troops in Afghanistan. He wants to broaden the military. So I think it’s a fraud what he is talking about when he wants us to really get out of Iraq. But I think that is politics.

correction to transcript

RP: well, I would think in a nominal sense, you know one of the odds was overcoming delegates of John McCain or his delegates discerning , so that way is over. But the campaign to get maximum number of votes and the maximum amount of delegates to participate in writing platforms and talking about the future, I mean, I think we are very much involved and very much alive.

I think that should read thusly:

RP: well, I would think in a nominal sense, you know what are the odds of us overcoming delegates of John McCain or his delegates deserting , so that way is over. But the campaign to get maximum number of votes and the maximum amount of delegates to participate in writing platforms and talking about the future, I mean, I think we are very much involved and very much alive.

And, again, RP can *say* that way is over, but it ain't over til it's over, and it's a long way to September for someone like Mad Dog McCain. :-)

In any case, RP is right about our influence. We're seeing that if we work together we truly can change things. This is goooood....

Get active NOW to put Ron in the general election. ronpaul.meetup.com

He is such a gentle man.

I separated the two words as a reminder of the word gentlemen. He exudes class, and to criticise others, he does very carefully.

Thanks for posting the video link.

Listen to Paul!

Ron Paul is leaving it up to us folks. So put your energy behind the Revolution. We talk about not wanting government in charge, well Ron Paul is giving us a chance to demonstrate how this is done. Don't look to Ron Paul to do all the work, and just throwing money at the problem isn't going to work either!

Be in Washington on the 21st of June as requested by Ron Paul.

If you can't be a delegate, then volunteer at the convention, you will be able to influence undecided voters.

It is always fun

to see how much content Ron Paul can fit into a short time frame, he covered alot. He did a pretty good job of exposing the McCain and Obama
myths.

That was great

Thanks for posting it. RP really has a way of making these guys look foolish in a non-confrontational way. I loved the Cheshire cat grin on RPs face.

Good stuff!

That little video had some teeth, eh?

A politician who speaks forthrightly and plainly. What a concept!

It looks like he uses this

It looks like he uses this campaign to spread his message but he doesn't want to be a president to me. I still believe that he can win (delegate system is on our side) but this is really not helping. This may be won't discourage current supporters but hardly will bring new one.

I understand that this campaign is only a part of the move but still it would be much easier to reform the system WITH presindent than AGAINST him.

That was an awesome interview

all 4 food groups of the Drs message were on the menu and he asked us subtly to BECOME DELEGATES. I feel that all doubts about where Ron Paul is going and the Revolution's future were satisfactorily squashed in that interview- and Dr Paul looked so good- possitive and upbeat. HE IS NOT DROPPING FROM THE RACE.

Hope someone will post a YouTube version, soon....

CNN never works for me.... :-(

That Should Answer Any Questions ..

Yes, Please...

...youtube link or something.

Link please

I was dropping my son off at school and missed it. I've gotta see that. Some please post a link.

Peace!

It really befuddles the commentators

To talk to some one that is not in politics only for themselves, and who sticks to principles. .

That was a definite spark

He's leaving it up to us. Do we want this, or are we a bunch of hot air.

He says he's in it to the end, but it's up to us to prop him up.

Staying Republican. He has to, to keep his congressional seat.

Spanked McCain, and slapped Obama.

Nice!

Spanked McCain, and slapped Obama.

Truth Baby, Truth!

It's correct what you say. He is empowering the people - imagine what is happening as people think for themselves and take action. No more nanny-state where it is implied that they care but are in actuality ensnaring us in a vicious trap.

The people need to take responsibilty for themselves or the government will GLADLY take it for them.

Ron Paul is an excellent leader in this regard.

Can't wait to hear his messege.

Be in Washington on the 21st of June as requested by Ron Paul.

Of course the talking heads

Just to introduce Dr. Paul, they have to announce over and over how he has "no chance" of winning. At the same time,it sounds like they're being more open to future appearances by him on the air.

YouTube anybody???

Wow, they just played another clip while I was writing this. They then kinda laughed and said "That's perseverance... he's out but not out, in but not really in..."

Obama

I love how he said Obama is a fraud and all talk and about his anti-war stance...I just love listening to RP. He is so clear, principled and honest. He rocks!

Great Interview And Dr. Paul Pulled Obama's Covers Calling His

campaign a fraud for the way Obama voted in the past on the war in Iraq and funding/troop buildup. Now lets see Obama try to counter that. And make no mistake Pauls in for the long haul to go to the convention.

beautifully done

thats my hero!!!
what a spectacular interview and he even kicked oblablablama!!!
president ron paul president ron paul president ron paul
the revolution moves forward!!!

He smacked Obama.

That was friggen awesome!

A lot of comments

about the difference between him and John McCain. I wish he'd had a chance to talk about his book. It's over now.

John McCain not the guy to unify the party?

and will you support JMc? "Not likely unless he changes his views." And then he said he can't reject everything he's worked for for 30 years and back away from his supporters--and won't.

He's saying

"we're very much involved and very much alive"

He will continue to contest in the upcoming election?

"Yes!"

"Is the campaign over or not?"

No.

He's talking right now.

He's on!!
