The Main Stream Media and its performers have committed suicide!!
It just dawned on me. I don't watch any Tv, cable, etc anymore and I have had dozens of conversations with all sorts of Americans about how cowardly and corrupt the media and its performers are. None of these folks took the "news" seriously. My son has been taught to never believe the "media". How many more Americans are doing this? A thousand? A million? Several million? Looks like the old media has destroyed itself. Lets hear your stories.
output

Hear it every day!
Whenever I broach the subject of the credibility of the mainstream media with family, friends, voters, I hear them echo the same mistrust that I have. As I think about it, I don't recall anyone saying anything favorable towards the mainstream media for a very long time. Hallelujah! The sheeple are waking up!
I watched Fox a year ago
I'm ashamed. Fox news is such complete crap.
From probably 2000 until the
From probably 2000 until the first week of 2008 I watched Fox News on a daily basis. I was a big fan of Bill O'Reilly and would have Fox News on my TV for a few hours daily.
I'm proud to say that I haven't watched Fox News for 2 months now! I woke up and am not happy at all with Fox for all their lies over the years.
I have watched a very small amount of CNN and MSNBC after I stopped watching Fox News, but that only lasted a very short time as it is apparent that CNN and MSNBC very often participate in the fraud/propaganda as well.
I rarely watch TV anymore other than the History Channel once in a while.
non coverage of RP pushed me over the edge
Got rid of dish network over a month ago. Hardly miss it at all, $60 a month in the pocket. We watch miro on the computer for all the nature, science, animals, comedy etc. and a litte off air TV for weather and traffic. Shoutcast for music.

Dr. Ron Paul *** RX for Freedom
We watch Video (actuallyDVD) TV!
Lots of old BBC shows like the Prisoner, Avenger, Saint, Dr Who. Some US ones like Star Trek, MacGyver, Columbo, and The Muppet Show! Just decided to throw in some vintage Benny Hill---I figure as old as that is, how bad can it be?! I may pick up a series of Numbers but we usually stay with the old stuff. That's our standard Christmas gifts in the family and we choose what we watch. The kids have added some MASH, it's fun, much more family friendly and we always can find something when we want to watch! It's Freedom!
From 1993 to 1998 I did not own a TV.
Later I got one to watch DVDs. I finally decided to try cable, when I learned of a couple apparently cool shows about two years ago. Last week I turned it off. I realized after a while that $75 a month was way too much for the crap. Over $800 a year wasted for two years. I feel so much better having shut it off and I feel so free of the mainstream media.
Me too
I had a satellite dish that picked up well over a thousand channels for years until the trees in the park across the street grew tall enough to block my view of the horizon. I'ts been eight years now that I lost my last signal and I don't miss the tube at all.
I did manage to accumulate a few thousand television episodes from TV Land marathons while I had it though, so I've got plenty of good old time tv to kick back and watch.
I still watch...
But I've always been aware that they mostly lie and I always question claims made in the commercials. Once you are aware of what they are doing, it stops working.
I mostly watch (over-the-air) NASCAR, Movies, "Late Night" shows, subversive programs like The Simpsons & South Park, Comedy shows, and News for the weather (can't lie about that!?) & local stories and the "man bites dog" stories, science & documentaries on PBS (they DO have a slant) and political shows just to jeer at them.
But, if you are PAYING for it, then you still make them happy
As long as you can get everything you want over the air, for free, I say go for it. But don't pay for cable, because as long as the media are getting your $$$, they really don't care how much you watch or what you think of it. They just want the $$$. Stick it to 'em where it hurts, and cancel cable.
My tv
has a lot of dust on it.Haven't found a good use for it yet, maybe
a planter in my yard!
disconnected (little used) cable last night
...lovin it
I have done so for years at a time in the past. It is so addictive. No doubt there is psychology behind the timing of images and words and also the words used to make it addicitive because every once in a while I start thinking about a TV fix...eeewwww (I know you know but everyone should know)
movies worth digging up
1984 (on youtube)
Brave New World (first half of you tube) I found this one most disturbing
due to the total absence of moral (in the best sense) content on most TV today, as in BNW where its all about personal pleasure
done
now I know why I use to see bumper stickers saying kill your tv
done
Im done, and i have not watched tv for about 3 months
Insert Dagny Taggart fantasy here...
'Live for yourself, there's no one else more worth living for,
Begging hands and bleeding hearts
Will only cry out for more...'
I cancelled my TV subscription
Now I read Ayn Rand or practice cutting tasers in flight with my katana.

The IDIOT tube is a threat
People in my own family are CONTROLLEd by the "reality" shows ... tv shows , just brainwashing material and wauste of time to anyone and everyone
Ever since i looked in 9/11 and the cfr , the NWO , Fed Reserve... i have found the BIAS opinions of the news , the tv shows , the documentaries is all connected to a huge plan ......
RON PAUL is TRUTH ........ Noone should hate on another .... but when the ignorant will not listen and diss you for ur views its a lil hard to just say ha well hey its ur fate .....
stay stronge minded and be positive
peace and love
best news sources??
Since we all agree (for the most part) that big Media/ Old Media ia a controlled and biased news source, let's all chime in on the news sources you do trust and use on the internet and otherwise-
-Long live the RPR-
You need a wide variety
You need a wide variety of sources to fill in the blanks that one or the other won't talk about... EVERYONE has an Agenda.
I have a "news" bookmark with L.A.Times, N.Y.Times, BBC, Reuters, Slashdot, WND, AlJazeera, WorldNews.com, RPDaily, a couple immigration sites, a "racially aware" site, and sometimes checkout the Israeli online papers.
As we've seen sometimes the "Foreign" news has better coverage of the U.S. than U.S. media! The Scotsman "Hillary is a Monster", and the Prince Harry in Afghanistan exposed a few unwritten "rules" for coverage. Not to mention what we've seen ourselves with the Ron Paul coverage.
Can't do without..
the TV just yet...I'm hooked on Spongebob....WAY better than MSM
Can you imagine
what it will be like ten years from now? Our kids will grow up and shun the media/news. Never take them seriously. What will the self appointed ruling elite do then?
Ruling Elite
Hopefully not ruling - the revolution won!!!
Ron Paul for president.
I despise television and would never allow myself to be told what to think about anything.
Keep in mind the statistics
Trust in the media is at an all time low.
Trust in the president is at an all time low.
I am one of many parents whop taught their children to never watch the news.
My kids are grown now and never watch the news. My daughter told me she watched it for a few minutes and it made her sick.
So, if you do watch the news let me tell ya something...you may not know it but it makes you sick.
Funny, I just talked to two more people
that have turned away from TV, cable, etc. They think it's a joke. One lost interest after trying to find info on Ron Paul and saw how obvious the media was ignoring him. That sealed the deal. Very Ironic.
My family even grandmothers think the MSM is garbage
Yeah the Ron Paul Blackout sealed the deal with them. They all already thought it was so sensationalized and such but the obvious Blackout and Smear campaign against Paul plus the constant labeling him a "longshot" or saying "he can't win" took the cake. They realized the obvious bias of the MSM and the arrogant "I think I know better than thou establishment." Once they realize that they are no longer trusted what will they do?
Bye Bye Old Media you are losing viewers by the hour soon NOONE will be watching except for pure Entertainment value, like WWE wrestling.
I've stopped watching MOST TV, too.
I must admit an occasional (every week) viewing of Deal or No Deal, and my Brian Williams time has turned from "being informed", to realizing how much of a bobble-head he is. Now I sit and point out the details he's not revealing about particular stories. Other than that, I've even stopped watching Jay Leno and Conan. Their shows suck anyway now that the writers are back.
I have much more time on my hands without all the TV! I'm liking it.
How would You respond?
I received this comment via email from someone who listens to Rush everyday ( I still say that Rush is a Band, but oh well) and I am trying to get her to see the light. I sent her videos of Proof that we are being lied to by corporate media (including the testimony of Jane Akre in Fox News vs Jane Akre) and this is her response to me: (It irritated me so I haven't written back yet...gotta get my nice hat on first..but when I do, I thought I would first ask her to provide me with her links of dirt cuz I can't imagine her being able to find any dirt on Dr Paul and secondly, I thought I would remind her of Eisenhower's warning to us). Here it is:
"Great. Of course they have no obligation to tell the truth. Honesty is a character trait. No one has any obligation to tell the truth. Im not for or against fox news. I believe what makes sense. Anyone who relies on the media, corprate or not, obviously is unable to think for themselves, or is just too lazy to do any research. If you are digging, you can find dirt on ANYONE, even good ole Ron Paul. Not to say that I am against him, but there is something on everyone. And what? Furthermore, Americans cannot blame "corperate America" for every God forsaken misfortune in this country. Americans created and support corperate America. We did this to ourselves!"
I would tell her...
I haven't found anything on Ron Paul that wasn't later proven to be false.
CNN? RP winding down
this is a wind-up if you ask me. There is an oportunity to comment upon this crep.

'I always think of all you canvassors and precinct leaders at the front line.
Good luck out there &Thank you. It's appreciated'.-fip -U.K
I discontinued my DirectV
I discovered that sitting in front of it was a major time waster. Sure, there were some good things on it but you had to wade through some much crap to get there. And when I was ready to sit down and watch something, it wasn't there. I didn't want to spend the money anymore. I would rather spend it on books and seminars learning how to improve my wealth and intellect. My husband and I read to each other now instead of sitting in front of the tube getting stupid.
I can't rent videos on any topic and will continue to do so. Also, the internet has just about anything I want to check out that is on the TV. Kill your TV set and see how much time you have for far more productive things. And, after what they did to Ron Paul, I am not going to support that.
Healthnuttie for Ron Paul
I love my TV and Satellite service
I watch all kinds of stuff. I watch the news clowns, then check out their validity on the net. Thats fun. I enjoy the History channel, and many times have gone to the net to verify. The music channels are great, no commercials. I love all of the HD channels for their sound and clarity. Some of the smaller networks have great shows on world culture. Free Speech TV is an HD channel. MASH, 2-1/2 men, SPEED TV (NASCAR).
It is possible to watch the TV for entertainment purposes while knowing that the MSM is full of BS.
Man's inventions are truely remarkable. It's our job to preserve the freedom for this type of ingenuity to continue. "Dont hate the Automobile just because you car is a POS"
Hard to love Tv and cable when the four or five corporations
that own the industry use it as a weapon against us while taking our money and getting wealthy. I'll bet they have a chuckle over that at the club.
The Big Media
Is a complete joke in my household and amongst my close friends and family. There would have to be a large sea change for them to earn my trust back.
I don't even miss it
I turned my TV off two years ago and don't miss it at all. The web has been a blessing and I hope it continues its free form. I just can't help but harken back to its alleged origin ARPAnet/Dept. of Defense... LOL!
Just upgraded to digital cable
Recently, and now there's more of "nothing" on the TV, but lately we just use the setup to watch movies of our own choosing, and the best thing on digital cable is the music channels high up on the dial and the VH1 rock concerts. But otherwise, surfing the regular channels is such a waste of time between commercials, scripted news and diversionary programming, so we're more likely to be on the computer. In a case of reverse logic, the new 47" lcd commands such a presence in the family room that it actually spends more time off than on when we're all together, which is fine by me. The real news is gained from online sources in our home.
You don't need TV or cable
to find out what they are trying to sell. A computer does the trick or listen to a radio news cast once and awhile. I'm not missing a thing. I get it.
I agree 100%
I have my radio and cable internet service. TV is a waste of time and makes children stupid anyway.
Turning off their propaganda
Turning off their propaganda machine is totally stupid. That would be their wish. Keep your eyes and ears open about what they want you to believe, if you turn it off, they won't even have to stage events. Please think clearly about it.
I turned my tv cable off ...
It is finally gone as of this morning. I haven't told my family yet, lol. They will find out soon enough.
Unfortunately,
I feel the need to stay tuned in to see what kind of crap they are
dishing out, that way I can sound the alarm when they are deliberately steering us in the wrong direction.
The genie is finally out of
The genie is finally out of the bottle. More and more people are waking up, and seeing the obvious. At this rate, and I pray the momentum is continuing, MSM is no longer trustable. There was a time, where journalists were feared by the elites, but things have changed. They are totally under the control of those who feared them.
Almost missed daylight savings time!
Since I cannot stomach network or cable tabloid news (CNN was also referred to as "Celebrity News Network" - at work, the discussion was about what panties a star was wearing or not!) and Saturday night TV is all reruns, I had my TV totally off.
It was just pure chance that I caught a single mention of daylight savings time going into effect or I would have missed it entirely!
In the spring, that means that everything you do is an hour *late*. Glad I didn't have a concert performance on Sunday-
My XP did *not* automatically change - I thought I did all the updates for when the DST dates changed last year-
My landline only changes if there is a call in.
Cell phones change automatically
The dates are set for every year. Spring ahead on the second Sunday in March and fall back on the first Sunday in Novermber. So you do not miss it next year :)
Phones didn't "refresh"
Until actually used - both landline and cell.
And those DST change dates are *different* than my whole life:)
What tickler system should I use for *fall*?
I did miss daylight savings time
it took me a while I couldn't figure out why my PC was 1 hour ahead of all the clocks in my house....and then it dawned on me that I must have missed something. dah :-)
Cable TV/Sattelite TV = Propaganda
I got rid of my cable TV about 15 years ago. I have a nice flat screen TV that I use to watch DVDs. I don't miss TV at all. I have to admit that when I see the History Channel, or some other educational channel on someone else's TV, I enjoy watching it (yes, I know that even the History Channel has a lot of propaganda).
I got to the point about 15 years ago where I realized that TV, besides being loaded with propaganda, was dumbing us down, and corsening our culture. How could any normal person watch this crap, I asked myself? And pay for too!
I spend a lot of time now on the Internet. Sure, there is a lot of nonsense on the Internet, but you have to know how to discern. Best of all, the Internet is not controlled. The Council on Foreign Relations doesn't get to censor what we are able to access.
Do yourself a favor. Get rid of your cable or sattelite TV. Read a book. Go on the Internet.
One of my favorite quotes
How to make a scrambled brain?
Add television to a child.
Though Tempted, I missed the "C"linton "N"ews "N"etwork today.
I emailed many of thier clients the other day to state my thoughts. I don't know off hand how ratings work and or are tabulated, but I for one have pulled the plug!
I'll see ya in Washington DC, June 21, 2008
Amended: And St. Paul in the Fall, IS A MUST... Rally-Ho :-)
Remember the past as you look forward to today...
The MSM's
history of deception should be taught in school. This should be a course. I wonder which college will have the courage to create it.
Never Let The Truth Get In The Way Of A Good Story
I've always had doubts in my mind on how the news is delivered. It use to be that I found the newscasters to sensational, dramatizing etc. I would look for a news source like BBC, PBS and CBC that had a more genuine way of delivering the news. Since following Ron Pauls message over the past 8 months, my eyes are now wide opened as to how biased the media is. It's much more clearer now how much manipulation the major news corporations inflicts on it's viewers. There seems to be no shame in feeding the sheeple. I now have miniscule trust in CNN, NBC, FOX, ABC and CBS to deliver unbiased news. It appears to be one big spin after another. I can only imagine how the meetings behind closed doors between management and journalist of MSM can be. It's a given that the majority of MSM journalist and broadcasters are farm hands to feed the sheep. What ever happened to the journalist motto " Never Let The Truth Get In The Way Of A Good Story"
My two cents.
Canuck for Ron Paul
I havn't had TV for more than 10
years, and the only radio station for news is PBS and believe me they are just as biased. I only listen because my husband has it on, and the only station we can get without annoying music.
