Sobering News from North Carolina
I don't live there, this came to me thru meetup email. Anyone from North Carolina have info or comments about this?
Unfortunately not all of the reports coming out of other states are
positive. The below is from one of the NC county conventions this
weekend.
Do not let this happen in Texas. Make any arrangements necessary to
attend your SD or county convention on the 29th. No matter what
"prior engagement" you may have, you have another commitment now, and
it is quite literally a matter where lives and the destiny of a free
people are on the line.
==========================================
"We voted to recommend 2 delegates to the national convention. Our
people lost.
Of the 157 members in our meet up, only 40 showed up, plus a few
probable absentee applications. 30 of them were not registered to
vote. 40 of them were registered Dem or Indy. (These are round
numbers)
Had all of
them been registered R and showed up, we would have
completely dominated our convention. Our 2 people would be headed to
national and we would have more than a 2/3 majority.
Had every precinct done the same, then at the state convention, all
delegates chosen to the national convention would be RP delegates. We
would also have a 2/3 majority of delegates in our state.
....
Yes, it would have been that easy.
A few people who knew this have been screaming it from the rooftops
for months. Grassroots did not listen. We didn't organize to take the
election this way, which would have required no money, no rallies,
door to door, no phone calls, no national ads and no HQ.
There is still a chance for us to sway the votes of enough people to
vote for our people at the state convention next month, but it will be
an uphill battle. Rest assured that I have already begun to do just
that, but the sad reality is that our
own people didn't register R and
s-h-o-w u-p. which is all it would have taken.
113 people in our district is all that was needed. 157 in our meet up
alone would have done the job with room to spare. We have 40, and we
can't change that now.
To all the whiners against the campaign, the ads, the money and
whatever the hell else you have been whining about for the past
months, read it and weep. It would have been that easy.
I now wonder how many of our group chose not to show up Saturday
because so many 'supporters' told them not to waste their time because
'it's over, we lost, stay home'."

I Live in NC. But don't feel discouraged
This is typical NC behaviour. NC is the first state in the Union to have the NAU emblem on the back it's I.D.. Let's not forget they didn't, during the Civil War, name NC the "Tar Heels" for nothing. Tar Heel meant that when it cam time to fight...teh NC boys had their "feet stuck in Tar"!!

SGP has been screaming this message
for a very long time. I hope everyone on here reads this and gets it once and for all. I think this should be sent to every RP supporter on our email lists too. RP can't go out and get the delegates FOR us. WE have to do it. I can't believe how easy it is to have so much control. But, how difficult it is to get this message pounded into people's heads.
Keep on the fight!
Ron Paul is leaving it up to us folks! So put your creative energy behind the Revolution. We talk about not wanting government in charge, well Ron Paul is giving us a chance to demonstrate how this is done. Don't look to Ron Paul to do all the work, and just throwing money at the problem isn't going to work either!
Be in Washington on the 21st of June as requested by Ron Paul.
If you can't be a delegate, then volunteer at the convention, you will be able to influence undecided voters.

If your meetup is like ours...
Then you have people from other meetups all over the country signed up in your meetup. I see this as a flaw in the meetup system. We have 140 registered in our meetup, but in reality there are maybe 20 active members. Signing up for mulitple meetups inflates the total numbers and creates unreasonalble expectations, unfortunately.
Sorry to hear this from my birthplace, the Tarheel State.

I agree and am a member only
I agree and am a member only in the 2 meetups of my local area. I got this from a person in one of those meetups who has multiple memberships out of state.

Has Your Meet-up Become inactive?
I sent out news with links to this site to my 2 Meet-ups yesterday for this very reason. We voted Super Tuesday, and some groups are working on becoming members, but the flow of news and activity has dropped off, otherwise.
I wanted to make sure they know what we're up to. Don't rely on others. Take up the task of spreading the word.

Grass Roots Means Participate, Not Whine
Take a look at my husband's article http://www.nolanchart.com...
Even people involved
in the movement have had their brains fried on fluoride - someone should have "mothered" them and checked to see if they had done their homework - like children. That's all I have to say about that!
