Republican Party Begging for Money
My wife just received a phone call at home from the Alabama Republican Party asking for donations to support the Republican presidential candidate (that's the woman's wording, not mine). My wife said that we had already given to our candidate of choice, Ron Paul and that we would not be donating to support any candidate that did not support and follow the U.S. Constitution. The caller then said "You mean John McCain?" to which my wife replied "Yes, him or any other candidate."
Then this young woman said that Ron Paul had dropped out of the race and that the Rep. party needed our money to help defeat the Democrats. My wife promptly corrected her and said that Ron had NOT dropped out and that we will be supporting and voting for him even if that means we have to write his name in on the November ballot. My wife then went on to emphasise that no matter who they nominate that we would not vote or support the party if the party continues in the destruction of this nation and our constitutional values.
I hope that the party worker made clear notes with my wife's comments. This is what the party needs to hear. If they continue on this path then they will lose money, support, votes, and in the end power.
Everyone needs to do the same if you get solicited for donations to the RNP. Make it VERY clear that it's a zero sum game. Either follow the constitution or lose support.

Candidates Sometimes Come to the Rescue of the Party
Sometimes a candidate with money in their campaign fund comes to the rescue of cash-strapped parties by buying advertising in the convention materials they pass out at conventions.
Now, the national convention gets to spend taxpayer money I think, but if you hear of any state GOP conventions hard up for cash, you might suggest they approach Ron Paul and see if he wants to buy an ad, and thereby support the party. Also, the local Meet-up might chip in for their own ad.
You can bet that handled correctly, this will make a good impression on the party loyalists.

I'm taking a different road here...
... I joined my local Republican party along with 2 others and we're taking our party back from within. Instead of being combative with them, turn them back to the Republican glory years. It's not that difficult. Many of the members (at least in my local chapter) are not too thrilled either with McCain as the choice or with the direction the party has gone. They just need a little nudging.

I like your wife's style
I got an email from the GOP this morning asking me for money to support the "nominee." Let me check... nope - no flying pigs. Maybe tomorrow.

Yeah they are certainly begging
I love it when they mail postage-paid slim-jim-sized return envelopes

RNC re Dr. Paul should be nominee "We're getting a LOT of that"
Yes, when they called me several weeks ago, I said I couldn't give anything because I had given a lot to Dr. Paul, and I was wondering why he wasn't getting more support from the RNC since he had such a beautiful voting record and was the only real conservative.
"We're getting a LOT of that", the solicitor candidly replied. *shock* I was floored he admitted that. Maybe he just let his guard down.
You Were Talking to Yourself in the Future
He probably joined the party to take it back a few years ahead of you.

If they want to restore
their credibility, they shouldn't have interfered with the caucuses and primaries and let the elections take it's course. They allowed their local GOP to mess with the voting process (not to mention those stinking pre-programmed diebolds). Not a single red penny is going their way.

If they want to restore
Ooops, double post. Sorry.

Should tell them...
Why give money to McCain when there are already two other Democrats running who can win? Why throw away my vote and my money. =)
Oh, McCain is not a Democrat you say? I read it in the same article that said Ron Paul dropped out. =)
For anyone else who gets this call
If someone from the RNC tells you Ron Paul has dropped out, say, "I happen that's not true; so, you're either lying or ignorant. If either is the case, why should I give you money?"
They'll either get honest very quickly or find their collection plates considerably less than full. In either event, they won't bother you again.
Same here
I got a call from the RNCC two days ago. A very pleasant woman and I'm sure most of you have had a similar call. Asking for money to help defeat the democrats in congress. Usually these are short conversations but this time was different. I explained in detail why I cannot support the RNCC when they are doing exactly what the democrats are doing, electing poor candidates. I told her the treatment of Ron Paul by the gop was the final straw. I told her I would continue to support good solid conservative republicans, but NOT the party. All the while she kept reducing the amount she wanted me to contribute (per her script). Finally, she let out a small sigh and said thats she has been hearing a lot of the same frustration. No script. She said she completely understood and that's when I told her that it might be a good idea to at least make a note of this party members position. I think the message is getting out that the GOP messed up big time here. The McCain effect is going to ripple throughout the GOP with defections, lack of interest, and very low fundraising numbers.
I got a call a few days ago from RNC
And I told them I would not vote for a CFR liberal, then I pretty much said what you did, AND--------she quietly told me she agreed, and she likes Ron Paul, too! Made My Day!
Fedex in from McCain
My father a vet got a fedex package & return fedex package from McSane in the membrane - a photo & plea to raise $3M - we are sending it back with Ron Paul literature & maybe 10lbs of extra weight saying no thank you - Ron Paul has our vote here in Pennsylvania.

I knowwwwww what you
I knowwwwww what you mean...I am almost green with envy cuz I would LOVE to tell the GOP what I think...but they will never call me. So, I am thinking I shall just keep Calling Them! I got together a list of all the Republican party powers in my state and I am calling every single one of them. It's a bit of a reprieve for the "gosh, I wish they would call me" thang.....
