This economy is unwinding and we are watching history unfold

Our parents and grandparents (maybe great grandparents for some) witnessed the great depression and WWII in their lifetimes. Are we immune to such tragedies in this era? The worldwide divestiture of dollars is like a mad sell-off. With all of the reading we do here at DP, does anyone see a way of preventing the inevitable train wreck? A somewhat permanent adjustment of the American way of life? I don't see it stopping.... http://www.bloomberg.com/...

Remember: They are human too

All of this talk about the perfect conspiracy regarding the Fed and the powers behind them is attributing far too much credit to them. They are human too and just as capable of making mistakes as the rest of us.

It is my belief that they are reaching too far and that their greed may just be their undoing. People are waking up to them and are buying gold and silver in amounts I do not think they foresaw. Ron Paul has alerted people to their actions, and that was something they certainly did not suspect. I believe things are unraveling a lot faster than they had planned which is why the Federal Reserve is in a complete panic right now trying frantically to fix things before the election. If things continue as they are right now, we are ripe for changing our government almost entirely on election day.

most men who seek public

most men who seek public office are evil... they like to rule over there fellow man... don't give them the "they are human" and make mistakes BS. they know exactly what they are doing... What you are seeing unfold right now is the largest transfer of weath from the middle class and poor to the ultra wealthy! if you do not see this you need to get educated.

You Misunderstand Me

I do believe there is a conspiracy, and that the Federal Reserve is trying to implement a major power grab. However, what concerns me is that people here are assuming it is a done deal -- that they cannot be stopped. However, I believe they are far overstepping their bounds and that they are about to get their hand caught in the cookie jar. They do not want this happen before the election, but it is happening anyway.

The "powers that be" are not all-knowing or all-powerful. They are human. They too can make mistakes, and this current collapse may just be a colossal one. I think pushing McCain as their candidate was pushing too far -- they might have gotten away with Romney, but they wanted the whole enchilada (they didn't want risking sharing power with the Mormon church). They are currently trying hard to push Clinton because they have concerns about Obama -- again an overreach that could have serious ramifications.

They tried to create an economic bubble to collapse sometime after the election, but they are finding that they did too good of a job. It is starting to crumble early, and there is nothing they can do to stop it. They are pouring billions of dollars into the sinking ship, and they may very well find themselves going down with it. One thing they didn't count on: people getting out of debt or walking away from their debt. As the current system is built entirely on debt, this will bring their system to a complete halt.

They can only attempt to control the American people, but the fact is that they are vastly outnumbered. If the American people realize this, the "powers" will be in serious trouble. I think that is starting to happen even now.

Agree

My father, who has no little insight into the situation, told me this...
Remember, they are people. You seem to think that is a highy controlled superpower behind the curtain. It isn't. They are people, with all the flaws everyone has plus one fatal flaw... arrogance. They HATE each other and have thier own power struggles as well. What you see now is that they have been arrogant and have overreached. THe infrastructure that they needed is not yet in place.. they are slipping.

Another on DP pointed out that they are currently running naked to the finish line without a safety net... current events point to that being a good assumption.

If you have any belief in a higher power, or Karma, or even if you do not... historically, just before it gets darker for a civilization there has always been a window of opportunity to fix it. We are in that window now.

ahhhh i see..... just make

ahhhh i see..... just make sure you are taking precaustions to take care of your family... this will be a world without... without jobs, without money... we will live in a world of having to make do without!

Stupidity can be faked, but sometimes it is readily apparent. Proof of this is living in the White House.

Fortune Favors the Bold

The Fed is purposely taking on these mortgages so they can foreclose and and become the biggest landlord in america.

It's the Big Plan

The privately owned Fed (Rosthschilds, Rockefellers, Lehman Bros., Warburgs, etc.) own everything.

theory i thought i posted elsewhere

Fortune Favors the Bold

http://en.wikipedia.org/w...

The basis for the Rothschild fortune was laid during the latter stages of the Napoleonic Wars. From 1813 to 1815, Nathan Mayer Rothschild in London was instrumental in the financing of the British war effort, handling the shipment of bullion to the Duke of Wellington's army in Portugal and Spain, as well as arranging the payment of British financial subsidies to their Continental allies. Through the commissions earned on these transactions, the Rothschild fortune grew enormously.

The four brothers helped co-ordinate activities across the continent, and the family developed a network of agents, shippers and couriers to transport gold – and information – across Europe. This private intelligence service enabled Nathan to receive in London the news of Wellington's victory at the Battle of Waterloo a full day ahead of the government's official messengers.[2]

Nathan Mayer Rothschild had set up his London business, N. M. Rothschild and Sons in 1811 at New Court in St Swithin's Lane, City of London, where it trades today. In 1818 he arranged a £5 million loan to the Prussian government and the issuing of bonds for government loans formed a mainstay of his bank’s business. He gained a position of such power in the City of London that by 1825–6 he was able to supply enough coin to the Bank of England to enable it to avert a liquidity crisis

The house of rothschild recently reconsolidated their european banks. Maybe their making a play for a world banking monopoly?
I've always wondered about how strong the alliance between the international bankers really is. If things got chaotic, wouldn't they try to eat each other alive?

The Tempest that waged on

The Tempest that waged on the horizon,
Has reared its ugly head
The wrath of the necromancer
Breaks down, destroys… its dead

As the peasants meander in bliss
Unaware of reality at hand
The plotting and evil rulers
Destroy and ravage the land

Nothing and no one to save them
‘Cept one who garnered no fame
Given only choice of 2
The politics, no choice, a game

Can he arise during turmoil
To secure the future from past?
Or will the peasants ignore him
And secure the destruction amassed…?

I believe we are going to

I believe we are going to see an economic crash regardless of what is done. The length and severity of the crash is what we can do something about.

We need to implement similar strategies used by CEOs of failing major corporations - they make quick and sweeping changes to get things back on track. That's what the U.S.A will need to do.

We need to end our attempt at empire building.

We need to stop policing the world and let them police themselves.

We need to bring our military home, close all the foreign bases and re-open all the bases on U.S. soil that were closed over the past 20 years. Spend that money here in our economy.

That's just the tip of the iceberg...

your right... this thing is

your right... this thing is far to gone... the TRILLIONS can never be paid back... the corruption going back to the early 1900's is now going to catch up.. even if Ron Paul were to get to office, we would still have a HUGE crisis! you better be protecing yourself and please don't think the government will bail you out... they won't and can't!

Yes, we could definitely

Yes, we could definitely soften, even possibly avoid the blow. All we would need to do is get the message to the majority of Americans to start trading with each other using money backed by gold or silver, such as coins made from precious metals. We would all need to do that as well as return to our American ingenuity and prowess to once again lead the world forward with things produced here. We would need to re-evaluate what our needs versus wants were and live within our means. We would need to cut goverment spending down to the bare necessities, which doesn't include policing the world. As I write this out I realize that Dr. Paul has already come up with the very same things. Wise man. Unfortunately, we would have to do these things as a nation starting yesterday, and the likelyhood of that, considering Dr. Paul is not the front-runner in this election, is basically zero. Sadly, a collapse may be necessary to wake people up.

The dollar will crash

Ron paul tells us this, Gravel tells us this, the Wallstreet players tell us this, My accountant tells me this, everyone knows this except the fed ? strange huh ? They are paying their last card and waiting to be able to call martial law. Then it's over.

exactly!

exactly!

Yes, there are...

ways to head off the train wreck.

Someone the other day, can't remember where, suggested that the banks could simply forgive all debts and start over. I know this sounds simplistic, given that the problems are immensely labyrinthine and convoluted. Yet we have always proven able to solve the toughest problems—given time, talent, imagination and determination. And in passing I will note there is precedent.

The basic problems here are: (1) Some don't want a solution, and (2) those who do always approach the problem from the perspective of what's best for those whose greed and imprudence created this mess in the first place.

The right place to start is to ask what's best for all of us, with much less regard to the personal comfort and convenience of those who caused the problems.

So, recalling the lessons of history and with confidence in American ingenuity applied to the problem, there are certainly ways to fix it; none of them, however, are practical given the nature of the players at the top.

Cannot wait for the next ingenious American solution

"recalling the lessons of history and with confidence in American ingenuity applied to the problem"

Ok, lets start with the dot com bubble recession was ingeniously fixed by creating the previously non-existent market for mindlessly loaning money to shaky borrowers by profitably packaging them as investments in such a way that noone can understand them, eventually locking up the credit process and trashing asset values for all borrowers and investors. American ingenuity..."time, talent, imagination and determination" yes, but whose?...I'm with you, AS LONG AS IT AIN'T WALL STREET INGENUITY.

Forgive all debts?

They can't forgive all debts because the retrieved loans based on those debts from the fed. Not only that, everyone's money is tied up in those debts period. If a bank run were done now they would be toast. I recommend everyone do a bank run to test it. If that happened people would see how far their FDIC insurance really covers them.

You know...

there is a "conspiracy theory" about this. I think it is called NESARA

There are some that believe that Clinton signed this into office secretly before he left office. And there are others that say they are crazy.

I never can tell anymore. The crazy ones are starting to look an awful lot like the other crazy ones. But I am afraid, as good as it sounds, that this one unfortunately is nothing more than a myth. One could only hope it isn't. ;D

Hi...to avoid the madness

just get rid of your comforting presumption that somehow things on the national or international level must be somehow rational and orderly. They're not always. Waking up to this is a step we all must take... especially those of us who have engaged this serious business of nation rebuilding via RP2008.

While there certainly is are people out there who refuse to think (or haven't learned how), or can be convinced of anything based on shallow or fragmentary reports, and so earn the "conspiracy theorist" label, for the rest of us there remains a legitimate right and need to look into things that are done by those who "conspire" against the greater good for their own selfish and evil ends.

We all know people who are crazy, or lazy, or wasteful, or foolish, or self-deceived, or drunks, or traitors to friends or families, etc. We'll they exist at every level, all the way to the top.

Our government managed school systems have kept us ignorant of many things. History as it is taught focuses selectively, and usually on the trivial. But if you get to the real source material here and there, and study the last 500 years of human history you find many, many instances of people who use their money and power, working together (conspiring) to steal it all and enslave the rest.

You have to decide for yourself whether you want the exhilaration, occasional fear and depression that comes from really knowing, or whether you want to continue in a self-imposed state of knowing little. I think it's better to take the risk and begin to really dig for the truth...

Wouldn't it be somethin'...

if it were true?? The website is interesting. It says - Hits since October 2003 - 66674174 That could be BS too though. What a trippy site. It sure would be great if it were true. :)

Nope, it will play out.

The upcoming collapse needs to happen. When it does, the people will start to listen to Dr. Paul's message.
