Of course he'd go AWOL if anyone truly expected him to go -- that's what he did during the Vietnam era during that stint he served with the Air National Guard -- and he didn't even have to leave the safety of the United States, if we're to believe all those stories that were being circulated but quickly hushed up about this not too many years ago. And let's not forget our VP (dickhead) CHENEY -- He managed to avoid the draft FIVE (5) TIMES during the Vietnam era. Didn't serve one day himself in the very same military that he has since sent brave soldiers and marines to fight (and die in many cases) in far away lands. This is entirely not acceptable on many different levels. WAKE UP AMERICA.

It's either that or their feelings got hurt when I reminded everyone of (dickhead) CHENEY and his FIVE deferments (excused absences) from any obligation to military service. Not that actual deferments themself were a bad thing back then (but five -- my goodness, five times he applied and five times he was excused from any miitary obligation for service to our country -- the same effort on his part really did indicate his desire to avoid the draft (avoid -- where his priorities actually were, and are still I suppose) especially when you take a close look at his reasons: one being his wife was pregnant at the time, another being he was a college student -- really some truly 'important' reasons for him to be excused while someone else's son had to go to war instead of him. But that's water under the bridge, so to speak.
Except considering this same crowd seems to feel that war is okay for the rest of us -- they see no problem keeping us at it for the next 100 years or so. Hell, why not -- They don't have to go, regardless of how much they claim they might see 'romance' in picking up a weapon and shooting it to kill another human. As long as that other human being isn't shooting back, I suppose.
