Instead of Washington ...
We should have a march on the GOP convention in Minneapolis September 1-4. This idea was originally suggested by a writer for the New American who did the recent articles on Dr. Paul in TNA (he's part of our MeetUp group).
Imagine the reaction of people to supporters of a Republican candidate marching outside the Republican convention. It might even make some people furl their eyebrows and actually think something was odd about that. A few adventurous ones might even go as far as to look into what's going on.
It might work to our advantage well enough that if the police came, people would cry, "Taze ME bro!".
I prefer a march on the GOP convention to one in WDC. It adds a loud message against the GOP tactics to everything a WDC march would convey.
It's also a more central location than WDC.
The only potential drawback is that it might be too late to help Dr. Paul get nominated, but it's certainly not too late to send a strong message about what the Ron Paul Revolution stands for.
We also could always have two marches. One in WDC for Ron Paul. One in Minny for the RP Revolution.

Well then
I say April 15 in DC and Sept 1-4 in St. Paul and ask Dr. Paul to bless both events. That is all anyone cares about. We just want Dr. Paul to say he likes it. No one is jumping in to organize the June 21 event anyway. The more of us in St. Paul, the better. The event on April 15 is obviously well planned. It seemed like they jumped in front of Dr. Paul, but actually, they already had their event in the planning stage and just had not siad anything yet. So they did not jump out right after Dr. Paul mentioned the march/rally. So this makes good sense. Then if people want to do state rallies some time, they can. State rallies should be done right before all the rest of the primaries. Just get Dr. Paul to speak up in favor of this plan. April 15 against taxation is a really big deal and does not even have to be totally Paul, necessarily, it is more about the people and taxation. Sept. is about GOP and the direction it is going. Paul will just be the benefactor in both cases.

I thought the march on D.C. would be more effective until I read this:

neither will be terribly effective
Marches on Washington are a
Marches on Washington are a dime a dozen and no one can get close to the Capitol due to post 9/11 restrictions. MEDIA WON'T COVER IT.
Alternatively, media will be EVERYWHERE in St. Paul and it would be hard to ignore 100,000 outside the convention.
I'm going to MN!

I like both. When the democrat convention came to Boston they erected 30 foot fences and you couldnt get near there. If you were driving down the highway all trucks got pulled over and searched for bombs. It was a horrible site. It was a total police state

For me, it's easier to get to Washington. For many, it would be easier to get to St. Paul. I'll try to do both.
