Labor Department just reported no change in "core" inflation (i.e. any items that aren't skyrocketing in price) for the month of February. http://money.cnn.com/2008... Holy crap - What a joke. Does anyone need any more proof that the Federal Government's inflation stats are a complete lie?

The money supply has "decreased" which means the fed has DEFLATED through some clever trickery. Repurchase agreements and such...

It blows my mind how serious the epidemic of cranio-rectal inversion remains, in spite of all the news that should reverse the condition. I told my sister to get out of the stock market, to buy grains, to invest in silver and gold, all with what would have seemed like psychic precision. However, having been written off as a "doomsdayer" she ignored my advice. Now, with a couple of months of news, do you think she is softening? Not a bit. She "just can't worry about everything that happens in the world." I am truly a bitch. I told her when the Canadian soldiers come to ration her food, maybe then she will reconsider her opinion of what is worth worrying about. I might have topped it off with some comment about shooting anyone who shows up at my door AFTER martial law is declared... Yeah, I know. I do better talking to strangers than I do my own family!

I have noticed that even the MSM
now tend to say, the CPI (blah blah) WHICH DOES NOT INCLUDE FOOD OR ENERGY, (blah blah). I have never heard them do that before. Even the MSM is acknowledging that CPI is not reflecting the real world inflation we are all seeing. They are embarrassed enough by the statistic
they now feel the need to explain it a bit to Jane Q Public lest they appear clueless.
My Wife
Of all people, who is still an RP skeptic, pointed that little fact out to me. If the CPI doesn't include food and energy, it doesn't really represent inflation in any fundamental, tangible way.
