Landslide Victory for Ron Paul in Missouri!! We can still do it!

Landslide Victory for Ron Paul in Missouri
Today in Saint Charles County Missouri, the largest Republican County caucus in the state 111 of a possible 137 Delegates were elected for Ron Paul. The St. Charles Caucus was a landslide turnout for Ron Paul.

The Republican Platform was amended to oppose the Patriot Act, The Iraq war, the Federal Reserve, Fiat Currency, the Global American Empire, the income Tax, Estate Tax, Mccain Fieingold, the National ID Card, The Real ID Act of 2005 and much much more.

Kudo's to Ron Paul supporters in Missouri!!

This was only one county in Missouri yesterday and it was happening all over the state. Please keep this bumped up...the GOP is freaking out and other states can do the same!!

Well, this is

that is great news! still

that is great news! still some hope!

as for me and my home, we shall worship the LORD

This is a microcosm of what

This is a microcosm of what is going to transpire on the convention floor in St. Paul.

Communication is key.

Never fight evil with evil...don't fight evil with evil and play the devil's game. Don't even step in the ring, or we lose...in other words, don't use violence.

Expose evil. Shine some light on them and we will win. Let's all just keep our big mouths motoring and expose these bastards for who they are!

They broke the rules....over and over and over again. I hope the dvd4delegates project accomplishes this exposition of evil.

Keep talking, communicate with as many delegates as possible and we are going to rock the boat and tip it over into the Minnesota River.

lest any forget...that we have a battle to WIN

all the threads..that are not pointing to the most important event in the history of our nation..thus far...is wasting time...please people..can we focus for 3 more weeks ...then post whatever you want...aliens..war.who edwards had sex with..granny gossip(or others)...

FOR WHEN WE WIN THIS BATTLE...ALL HELL WILL BREAK LOOSE IN THIS COUNTRY..YOU WILL SEE FUND RAISING LIKE YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN BEFORE....meetups will be reopened...people will be crying tears of joy...and happiness for we will have 2 more months to make our man the most famous and well loved PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE IN HISTORY....

I LOVE this determination

This is all I care about. I hope everyone has learned to pay attention to "posting dates" so no one is misinformed.

I think this intention is the only sane idea happening in the entire US right now.

My caucus got nearly all the delegates and all alternates

plus the moral high ground. The committeeman broke every rule to try to keep us from suceeding, including moving the location without notice. (we found him anyhow...) We also got some great practice in standing firm on principle. We were up against one of the most hostile committemen, and did just fine. (and this was AFTER they got the word we were organizing to come out) If this is the best they can do to try to keep us out, I am confident we can do extremely well at the next level.

For St Louis area news: (too bad showing up to participate is perceived as theatening to the GOP)
http://www.stltoday.com/s...

TIPS:
- Study up on Robert's Rules of Order, and know the meeting agenda cold.
- Make sure everyone in your group knows the strategy and is ready to stand up and speak out to make sure your goals are reached.
- Be wise, don't let them get away with anything, stand on principle

My biggest lesson learned: When things are really tough, like ours was, and they break all the rules, it's not enough to know the rules and use the rules to acheive your goals. I now beleive it is important to also cite the rules (ei say "Robert's Rules of Order requires ______".) and explain the purpose of them. You can't assume that the other people in attendence or even the committeeman or committeewoman know very much about the rules. Teach as you go. Sell the whole assembly on the importance of following the rules, and invite them to join our cause.

Great Post!

THIS is the kind of posting that helps at Daily Paul! Thank you : )

How Delegates cast votes

I called my local GOP guy and asked him how it works and he said that the first go around you have a MORAL obligation not LEGAL obligation to vote for the "popular" candidate and the 2nd time we are free to vote for whoever we please.
Please note the MORAL not LEGAL. If you want to hear the Phone call yourself and listen to my GOP explain how it works. I put the phone call on youtube. I had to break it into 2 parts I highly recommend that you listen to BOTH parts as it gets quite interesting. here is the link
http://www.youtube.com/us...

I know that we can do this I have never nor will I lose faith in Ron Paul. We must all become delegates and take back our country, we can beat them with there own rules.

simariah You Need To Wake The Hell Up...

Fuck your local "GOP" guy. You have no obligation to vote legal, moral or otherwise first round when new information is brought forth.Such as 100 year war,his stupidity of economics, no basic knowledge of geography ect ect ect. That negates any of the "GOP rules".

Delegate revolt first round and every round until Paul wins. And many should stand to make a motion for a vote of "No Confidence in McCain" to get things started in the right direction before any voting takes place.

And piss on any brokered backroom deals no compromises, winner take all or we wind up having to take this to the next level and thats not going to be pretty...

Don't let them "threaten you with taking away your future delegate privileges"
we'll raise a new crop next time anyway.

It's called conscience simariah and negates any rules.

Missouri A great Experience

Now, these two links express my feelings on this whole thing.

In the first one, I am referring to the PTB and the second one is what I asked myself just before I became the Greene County Coordinator. EVERYONE in the meetups, and other leadership, and ALL the supporters here are so dear to me, they are just incredibly awesome!

The Kansas City Star newspaper: "Ron Paul supporters control Republican county conventions." Enuff said!!!

WAY TO GO MISSOURI!!

THIS IS the way to WIN it! Or, at the very least, this IS the way to influence the party platform, to INITIATE a lasting change.

All of us, who are awake, in the Freedom Movement, can all see the collapse of our proverbial "Roman Empire" right in front of our noses, daily. But equally, as history repeats itself and another "Roman Empire" is being taken down, the cliche also holds true that "Rome WASN'T built in a day." It is through efforts like these that the RƎVO⅃UTION will live on!!

------------------------------------

UPDATE: SAME type of WIN in Washington State!!!

"Whatcom GOP delegates favor Ron Paul." http://www.bellinghamhera...

These type of news are coming from ALL over the COUNTRY!!!!

Enough with pessimism. ORGANIZATION!!! Delegates, delegates, delegates.

And PLEASE become precinct leaders, where you still can. I see the numbers shown on RP2008 main site has not changed. HELL of a lot of wins, county by county, one at a time, IS how we will do it!!!

Please review many posts on DailyPaul, like SGP, aka Dr. Steve Parent's advice on becoming delegates, and how the process works. THESE ARE lucid EXAMPLES and PROOF that becoming DELEGATES CLEARLY WORKS!

Keep on rocking, and Go get 'em RON PAUL RƎVO⅃UTIONaries!!!!!

We CAN STILL WIN THIS!!!

Because the genie is out of the bottle, and I WANT MY FREEDOM, I WANT IT BACK! I WANT MY REPUBLIC BACK!, more than I WANT SEX!! So say we all!

Delegate process question

Can anyone re-post links or information on becoming a precinct leader/delegate? Is it already to late for the 2008 election process? I've always been an Independent, mostly non-voter; I wouldn't even know the basic steps of contacting the local Rep. Party and getting started.

Ron Paul supporters control Republican county conventions

UPDATE, 10:45: A Ron Paul volunteer and organizer in Kansas City confirms that the Jackson County Republican caucus elected a nearly-complete slate of Paul delegates at its convention Saturday.

Larry Holland says the caucus elected more than 170 Paul delegates out of an estimated 187 available. Those delegates will eventually, directly and indirectly, pick delegates to the Republican National Convention.

"We all know that on the first ballot, we have to vote for McCain," Holland said, but "we can also help affect the Republican platform, and bring it back to its conservative, libertarian values."

Holland also says Jackson County Republican chairman Bunk Farrington walked out of the session, held at William Chrisman High School. We've got a call in to him.

Ron Paul supporters packed caucuses in other counties, with mixed results.

- - -

Details are sketchy, but we're told supporters of Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul took over party conventions in several Missouri counties Saturday, including Jackson County, electing Ron Paul slates in several of them.

Delegates elected at the county level will attend congressional district conventions in several weeks, where roughly half of the state's delegates to the Republican National Convention will be picked.

The rest will be picked at the party's state convention in late May and early June, again by delegates picked by the county convention attendees.

As a practical matter, though, electing Paul delegates -- even at the state convention, planned for late May and early June -- won't change the presidential nomination picture. Missouri is a winner-take-all state for the GOP and delegates are bound to vote for John McCain on the first ballot. There won't be a second.

But Paul delegates could influence platform discussions at the state level, and, if sent to the national convention, could saddle McCain with a platform he won't be happy with.

We're told the Jackson County convention was a bit raucous. We're gathering info and will have more here later.

Updated MO delegate count.

I was the chairman for the St. Charles County caucus

I was the chairman for the St. Charles County caucus. Until I turn in my paperwork I suppose I still am. I will not say much about Saturday at this time. If you want to know what happened, ask if anyone else was there. They will be able to give great info. At some point in the future I look forward to giving a full and detailed description of the day.

I did want to share one thing after reading the posts in this thread. A number of caucuses statewide made motions to unbind. I'm certain there are various versions of language.

Here is what was passed at our caucus.

All Missouri delegates to Republican National Conventions shall vote for Republican nominees for President of the United States on the Republican National Convention’s first ballot and all subsequent ballots according to their evaluation of all nominees adherence to the Missouri Republican Platform, and shall not be bound by the results of any “preference primary”.

BTW, "preference primary" is actually a term used throughout RSMo chaper 115 Election Authorities and Conduct of Elections

http://www.moga.mo.gov/st...

My only regret

is that I didn't work harder to get more RP supporters to the caucus. If you are in a state that uses a process similar to ours, and is yet to elect its delegates, my advice is to get all the RP supporters, friends, family, etc. that you can round up. Then put on your "Republican costumes" (at least a tie), make up your mind to be polite and professional, read up on Robert's Rules, and go for it. Most of the established folks at our caucus could not have been nicer, and they seemed to sincerely welcome our participation. By the time we left, some of them were practically begging us to run for positions within the county party.
Thank you all for your kind words and encouragement.

McCAIN WHO ? ? ?

Drove from Maryland to Mid Missouri today and saw ZERO McCain Signs. Saw one Ron Paul sign in Ohio, 3 Ron Paul signs Missouri, 2 Huckabee signs Indiana.

Where is McCain getting all these votes from nationally ?

This is a great victory

even if it turns out that they have to vote for McCain. It will send a tremendous message to the GOP and the rest of the country that we are not going give up until we have taken our country and our liberties back.

You can never enslave a free man.

Boone County update. We

Boone County update. We took 25 of 55 to the state and 9th District.

Nice work!

I understand the 9th District convention will now be in Mexico instead of Columbia. At least that's what they told us at our caucus on Saturday.

MEXICO? Now they want to outsource our conventions?????

;-)

Wow! I just logged in a saw this. Awesome news!

I'm confused, because I

I'm confused, because I thought all Delegates were Bound. Period.

Don't all the delegates have to vote for McCain? Or are their provisions in the Rules for those rules to get changed at the state convention.

Tracy

Actually the standing rule can be changed

However its easier than the 2/3 vote in Missouri. Actually that is to replace the Primary winner with another individual. It only takes 50% plus 1 to unbind the delegates so they can vote for who they think is best.

My understanding is

that the winner-take-all provision is merely a standing rule of the Missouri Republican party, and any standing rule can be changed with a 2/3 vote at the state convention May 31.
