Wow, anyone notice how calm

Wow, anyone notice how calm and quiet it got here suddenly? Oh, OneVoice left! HURRAY! Let's hope it stays like this!

no

Actually things are trending up

All your..

Wonder why?

Talking to yourself

onevoiceofreason.....you bumped this old post and now you are talking to yourself...how pitiful.

People with Alzheimers and

People with Alzheimers and sagging, leaking Depenz are known to do exactly that, shuffling around and screaming at the napkins.

So, how many cuts have happened so far?

Is there someone here who is knowledgable about what has been going on? I think I have heard of at least three cuts made recently. In the past two weeks when things started looking bad, what cuts (or increases) have been made? I need help just sorting this information out. Thanks.

"The Fed on March 18 cut the

"The Fed on March 18 cut the target lending rate by 0.75 percentage point to 2.25 percent and said signs ``of inflation expectations have risen.''

This forum topic was created on March 17.

the

the cut was just a .25, not 3.5 as this nitwit claims

Nitwit?

Why I oughta....

It was a mistake...ever heard of those things? And why the heck do you live on this thread if it's so nitwitty?

You just answered your own

You just answered your own question!

guh?

what?

The Origional Post...

Was wrong... it was debunked as soon as it came up. Onevoice just bumped it up to get some attention, is all. It feeds off of attention. Think of onevoiceofreason as Gollum and attention in any form is the precious...lol.

HAHAHA!!! OMG, so funny! I

HAHAHA!!! OMG, so funny! I can just picture him/her as Gollum, hunched over a keyboard, lovingly stroking it, on the slopes of the mountains of Mordor ........ LOL!

LMAO

Thank you for the word picture as well.. it's fitting! Prolly a Mac laptop too...heh

If I had any artistic

If I had any artistic ability whatsoever, I would make a drawing just like that, and post it here! Well, maybe not --- but it would be hilarious! But also sad.

Thanks for your insights into this online Gollum; I have a bit of pity for him/her now. So sad, that that is how a person finds satisfaction in life, or attempts to.

I do not remember if the

I do not remember if the real Gollum, was naked and had no visible wanker either...like this one.

"If humanity can grasp the basic concept of 'Infinite Diversity In Infinite Combinations', and then accept it for what it is, then there may yet be hope. If not, then the destruction of mankind, at it's own hand, is inevitable." - Anonymous

In the movies, had a

In the movies, had a loincloth kind of thing. Actually, it really creeped me out --- whoever drew/created it did an oustanding job!

But I can just see OneVoice as Gollum, clutching his laptop in one hand and his tattered (and soon worthless) Citicorp stocks in the other ........ LOL!

LOL You are right...I see it now (yuck)

Sounds like we have an adult comic book in the making. I say run with it!
this freak is serving up a lot of good material.

Nice

I am now poking out my minds eye : )

Takes all kinds...

The sad part is that the internet has given people like this complete freedom to dump on the rest of us. There is no social recriminations for he/she in this format. For instance, in reality they would be laughed at or beat on... on a forum, however, they are free to prey on the people they need to keep the cycle going without any repercussions. Which makes it worse for them later when they have to deal with it, if they ever indeed do...

Yes, it is a mess.

The real screwed up part is that the person we are talking about is probably signed off but still reading... blah.

really

both the markets and the dollar were up today and oil fell as well

bull-ony

3/4 of 1 percent

that

that is the correct amount

Remember, it was 1% when

Remember, it was 1% when Reagan was in office.

During the Reagan Administration

The FED funds rate was never below 6%, it was as high as 19% (1981).

1

1% would be great

what about negative rates

Fortune Favors the Bold

like in Japan?

or better yet, let's just scrap this whole cash thing and put the money on electronic chips.

Have you gotten yours yet? :)

negative inflation rate

In Japan was an experiment. Japan could affort to screw around since it has reasonable amounts of sovereign wealth and at the time had a positive trade imbalance. Also the societal patterns of spending are different. The negative rates essentially extended the recession for a couple of extra years, which is why they backtracked on it.

Deflation?

Correct me if I am mistaken, but there was NEVER a negative inflation rate in Japan for consumer goods or in general prices, was there? I never heard of such a thing! In property, yes, but across the board?

People who use the word "deflation", I have found, like to throw it around in a general sense when it actually only applies to a narrow and specific part of an economy. I think the idea that we could be facing general price deflation in this country, under the current monetary regime, to be laughable and absurd.

zero

zero would be fine with me

It would be appropriate too,

It would be appropriate too, to match your IQ and your value as a human being.

oh

that was so hurtful..................LOL

your grasp

Fortune Favors the Bold

of economics is amazing

it

it certainly is

A 1% or Zero % interest rate

A 1% or Zero % interest rate would only mean a massive expansion in the money supply and more easy credit, thus a massive inflationary push which would debase the "FRN dollar" into a territory of near negative value: hyper-inflation. Such pushes of the FED only delay an even bigger "bust" by seeking to artificially creating another "boom". In such a case the "pain" may ease for a while, but the "hole" being dug for this country would be far deeper.

and

and back up to the top

haha...back up to the top of

haha...back up to the top of a cliff that will prove to be the end of economic life as we know it.

what

what cliff ??

The dollar strengthened broadly on Monday, extending gains into a fourth session as investors unwound large bets in commodities to square up positions across a range of asset classes ahead of the end of the first quarter.

nice copy and paste :-) You

nice copy and paste :-) You don't know jack squat. It's useless even discussing with you because you aren't even interested in learning. Guess who those investors are that were dumping their assets of real value...........and guess what the position is they are squaring up for.

No use talking to TardBoy

No use talking to TardBoy there. He's been watching too much tv and smoking citigroup stock to understand larger implications of things like 1% interest rates....especially when the usd is the world reserve currency.

"He's been watching too much

"He's been watching too much tv and smoking citigroup stock"

LOL!

In the future

Please state the time that something is being shown. Now can mean anytime and it's usually too late when we actually tune in. It also helps to state Central, Eastern or Pacific time.

DO RUN RON!!!!!

You need to save your adrenaline

for future events that will be a lot more shocking than that one.

LOL

Can you say ritalin?..LOL

Fortune Favors the Bold an

Fortune Favors the Bold

an actual 3.5 percent rate cut would have been interesting. Hell why not? Didn't Japan have a negative rate at one point, and people just stop using their bank because it became a joke?

:)

:)

http://www.cnbc.com/id/23...

Not a 3.5% cut -- a 0.25% cut.

A .75% was due to take place on the 18th. The is common knowledge.

Settle down Gilga. It's going down but your not going to have to eat coal tonight so quit freaking people out.
