Ron Paul backers succeed in guerilla takeover of some GOP caucuses

HAHA, I just love it all ! I just have to say to ALL Ron Paul supporters, you ROCK bigtime :-)

The first hints were the phone calls.
Never before had St. Charles County Republican Party Chairman Jon Bennett received so many queries about where this year's party caucus was to be held. And Bennett didn't recognize most of the callers.

On Saturday, Bennett learned why. Dozens of avid supporters of Ron Paul, a Texas congressman who is running a renegade quest for the presidential nomination, staged a political guerrilla attack. At that caucus at St. Peters City Hall — as well as others across the state — party regulars like Bennett were overwhelmed.

Is It True

Only 1/3 of the state delegates are Pauls. Does that number hold up with what the campaign was tracking.
I kept hearing we won the majority of the 4 largest counties.
Is there even a way to get the hard numbers.
1/3 is not going to cut it. Honestly we have to have a majority at the state conventions to get things done.

The numbers

The numbers are not in yet from all of the counties. 1/3 was just counting those "big" wins.

They got a taste of their own Louisiana Medicine

And they are bitching and moaning about it. "Fool me once shame on you...Fool me twice shame on me" F.U.

But Bennett accused the Paul forces of deception. At the St. Charles County caucus, Paul backers did not identify themselves as such. Instead they promoted a group of proposed delegates they called the Conservative Values slate.

"They went out of their way not to use 'Ron Paul,'" Bennett said. "Intellectually they were dishonest about their reasons."

You BAD BAD people!! Using

You BAD BAD people!! Using stealth and planning on those poor tired GOP attendee's. HA HA HA HA HA.... tears in my eyes. What a big F'n cry baby! I sure want him to be my leader.

Thanks, Mules!

This Is How We Take Back The Party

And the nation. Taking back the Republican Party from the NeoCons is our best and most effective option. I urge all Ron Paul supporters to seek out Ron Paul Republicans in their areas, join and get active in your local GOP Party and take back the reigns from the nutcake NeoCons driving it into the ground.

The malaise and apathy that permeates the GOP is their Achilles Heel. Let us storm the GOP Parties across this nation and reclaim the Party in the name of Peace, Prosperity and Freedom.

Let the invasion begin!

In Order For the GOP to Stem This

They will need to basically say "Even if youre not excited about McCain- you'd better get down and be involved in the delegate process - we dont want Ron Paul to win ! remember?? we dont want to vote for him because its a wasted vote remember?? -We realise that McCain wants to continue a war that 70% of Americans abhor, and he has no clue about the economy but he's our man- remember? so get down there and stop Ron Paul so he cant win a nomination that he cant win"...essentially they will need to find people who DONT like Ron Paul enough to go be a delegate against him. The REAL 4.5% are the people who are excited about McCain- and they are the registered voters in Washington DC.

The Conservative Values slate

I am quoted briefly in that article. I'll not get too detailed at this time. I'll write a complete summary of the day and the weeks leading up to it at some point in the future.

I can tell you the article failed to mention the actual numbers we achieved.

District 2 Delegates - 102/115 = 0.89

District 9 Delegates - 11/16 = 0.69

State Delegates - 126/135 = 0.93

I had no idea how long the meeting would be, it lasted 5 1/2 hours, but I allowed people to bring forward platform suggestions and addressed them according to Robert's Rules. This meant hearing amendments to motions and discussion on the amendments, etc, which can be tedious as each motion to amend acts as a new motion up for debate. At one point a motion was made to to end platform amendments, but it failed 4 to 1.

I did my absolute best to run the meeting as professionally and respectfully as I could and I think I did. I was chosen to be chair based on my knowledge of Roberts Rules and my experience in municipal government and how meetings should operate. I had a number of people complement me at the end on how I ran the meeting and I appreciated their comments.

The people that were there for the Conservative Values slate are people who have been Republicans for a long time, but had been disillusioned buy some of the directions and positions the party has taken in resent years. It is true that virtually all of those people voted for Dr. Ron Paul in the presidential primary. Dr. Paul's conservative positions reinvigorated these people and this motivated them to become active in a process they've long felt excluded from.

The people that formed the Conservative Values slate wanted to make clear that while they support Dr. Paul, they were there as conservative republicans. There was no Ron Paul literature or signs.

Everyone on the slate understood that local caucus attendees do not vote to nominate a presidential candidate, but simply select delegates whose main role is to shape the future of the party. A very few get the honor of attending the national convention. By the end of the meeting Ron Paul's name was not mentioned a single time by anyone who had the floor. How many times have you heard him say its all about the message? Its true.

I feel those on the conservative values slate were very respectful and well behaved. In fact the only people to cause a ruckus were 2 of "their" people who made very minor scenes and walked out.

I have every expectation those who attended, as well as a large number who had conflicting engagements Saturday, will be very active in the Republican party for years to come. Many are running for County Committee. These people are truly re-energized and have a great ability to do grass roots organizing and fund raising.

It was very disappointing listening to disparaging comments accusing those on the Conservative Values slate of being un-republican. These people are earnest supporters of the republican party. It is very telling that the platform changes that passed were both presented and approved by "both sides". This truly shows the room was full of true conservatives.

What saddens me the most is how most people can't see past our support for Ron Paul to see it is not the man we really support, although he is a great role model for conservatives, but it is his beliefs we share.

When we see a man so convicted to his principles he can stand alone while all others forget their principles, how can we who hold the same ideals he holds not be encouraged to confront the status quo that is leading this country to ruin.

Stand up for what you believe. Have no fear. Have no regret. Be proud. Stand tall. Smile.

Well said, my friend

This is precisely the attitude and apporach we need to take forward with us through the caucuses. You should maybe post this as its own thread.

Live Free or Die - Amen to that

Awesome job!

Thanks!

If we all put our time and effort into reading the rules, regulations, and by-laws and actually attend the meetings we will win.

Wow!

Every single person involved should be so proud. I know I am.

Nothing succeeds like

Nothing succeeds like success!

I love it!!

grrr i wish theyd quit calling us "pro-paul activists" and "Ron Paul sympathizers" - the psy-ops is a warning to the sheeple that we are a bunch of eco-terrorist hippie-types so they dont wanna be associated with us. I get the feeling that the articles are not a "good thing" but rather a "heads up- those Ron Paul guys are getting closer".

Heads up ain't such a bad thing

Don't forget that this was the same way that Lincoln got elected.

language is important

Fortune Favors the Bold

we should call ourselves "traditional conservatives"

I do agree.

I love it too !

I think it's a good thing they're basicly "complaining" to the winds, because other people who read it just might say "Hmmmm, what's going on here, the media said he dropped out. Why are Ron Paul supporters still going to state conventions and political functions? Ron Paul really got these folks eyes open about something, maybe I better check him out."

People worldwide support Dr. Paul too :-)

Our numbers are massive

and growing. I've always believed this, although the Diebold machines and propaganda media tried to make us think that lies were truth. Only 5% of the American people want Ron Paul? They want him for Congress but not for President? And they prefer McCain? What a joke. I never fell for it.

This is what you call the snowballing effect. Looks like we're rolling downhill but we're gathering more speed! Wheeeee!

Blowback THIS.

Blow Back this.
