Pennsylvania Patriots Can Sure Be Bitchy

But they are going to be the instrument used to take this revolution to the next level.

Watch and see.

Would get the Hightide promo in the major metropolitan areas in PA. Can we at least get that?

I live in Ohio

Ron Paul didn't show up here, I am not crying. We chose to treat Ohio like it was the first primary in the election, which is what we all should do. We need to pull up our own britches and strap our own boots on if we want to get this done. I will say it again, if stuff is as bad as we think it is behind the scenes, we can only assume Ron Paul has put his life on the line to deliver us his message. Who else lately has risked their life for this message of freedom? Certainly I haven't, so I and anyone who hasn't should not be complaining about Ron Paul's efforts. The comments this guy on the phone made on this link are completely uncalled for. It wouldn't be the first time someone went against the establishment and got killed. Would it? Let us all think about what Ron Paul truly risked here and get to work. In war when your commander is busy doing something else, do the troops say, let's wait until our commander gets back to see what we should do. All I can say is strap your boots on and focus on the task, not the problems, but focus on the SOLUTION.

RP will go to PA..

don't worry.

"He who exercises government by means of his virtue may be compared to the north polar star, which keeps its place and all the stars turn towards it." Confucius

Completely out of line

Before I criticize you, allow me to preface this.

First, I know your heart is in the right place. We're rooting for the same team, but you're asking for a strategic course (e.g. "fire the coach" or "bench the QB") that is unwise given the information available and your position in the armchair. I know you're not TRYING to cause problems, but that's the effect of your attacks. At BEST, your efforts are futile. At WORST, they're destructive.

Second, I admire that you'd take the time and initiative here -- but see above.

Finally, I'm in Pennsylvania myself. I'm a Meetup coordinator. I've pounded the pavement and been on the front lines (more on that below), and I'm not seeing any real cause for your attacks.

OK, here's what wrong with what you're doing.

1. How is Kent Snyder the "leader" who needs to be "seen?" He's the campaign chairman. While that title can be vague and subject to interpretation, how many campaign chairs do you see who are "face men" (or women)? Without looking it up, can you name McCain's chair? Hillary's? Obama's? How often have you seen them? The bottom line is that it's not Kent Snyder's job to personally and directly communicate with the media (and, by extension, the grassroots).

2. I think the campaign is making a respectable effort in Pennsylvania, under the circumstances. We got a MASSIVE amount of supplies earlier this month. True, the campaign isn't burning all its resources in some kamikazee effort. Nor should it. Under the circumstances -- with McCain the nominee barring something unexpected (which is always possible) -- I'm satisfied with the effort.

3. Also, it's worth noting that you don't know (nor do I) what the campaign is doing behind the scenes or what the campaign has planned. Making these attacks without full knowledge is careless.

4. Additionally, there's still more than a month to go before Pennsylvania. Massive efforts at this point might not be appropriate. Perhaps Rep. Paul will be spending more time here during a weekend or recess. Perhaps a media buy is coming.

5. We all have a right (and duty) to bring what I call "free market campaigning" to the table. That's where sign waving, canvassing, coalition-building, etc., come in. We are all doing our own things. We all have the ability to propose different ideas and decide (as individuals joining together) which ideas we like. That's how the blimp came about. But you're bastardizing the concept of free market campaigning by thinking that it's your place to run the OFFICIAL CAMPAIGN from the safety of your armchair. You don't know all the facts, and neither do I. The best thing that you can do if you disagree with (what you perceive to be) the campaign's strategy is let them know politely. They can be wrong. For instance, I didn't necessarily like the official campaign commercials. However, that's as CONCRETE issue. That's "I see exactly what you're doing, and I disagree because..." But public whining and stirring up "Kent Snyder/Jesse Benton/Lew Moore must go!" sentiment is bad for the movement and the campaign, and is based on incomplete knowledge when it comes to the campaign.

6. Your attention-seeking, self-promoting flair disturbs me. You're bumping your own posts and writing nonsense like "Check this out, awesome...!"

7. Additionally, the fact that you're representing "PA Meetups" vaguely offends me as a Meetup group leader in PA. You're not speaking for me. You're not speaking for my group. But you're implying that the PA Meetups collectively, or the grassroots volunteers en masse, share the sentiments of a small number of disenchanted people.

8. What background do you have to make ANY of these criticisms? I don't know you, but pardon my presumption that I'm likely more qualified to run a campaign (education, experience with campaigns, involvement with grassroots movements, skill set, etc.) than you. And I know that I lack the personal connections to be effective in Kent Snyder's job as well as the information necessary to second guess him this definitively.

---

Again, I'm sorry if this is harsh. We share the same desires to see the campaign succeed, but this needs to be said. I hope you'll take down your hit piece and engage in something CONSTRUCTIVE. If you think you can do better, DO IT! But do something that doesn't involve stirring up dissention.

Would get the Hightide promo in the major metropolitan areas in PA. Can we at least get that? If our meetup group would have kept our money rather than give it to the campaign we would already have this money 10x over.

please visit S.P.G. any thoughts on this

go now please?

Jack,

Do you see Dr.Paul making another Philadelphia apperance?

I would really be

dissapointed if Ron does not make an apperance in Pennsylvania.

I did not go to the first rally, but heard it was huge & that was before his campaign took off.

The good folks of PA,NJ,DE & even NY would love to have you!

Just a thought

You really do have a right to your opinion about PA. I do not agree with the principle, but, I think HQ should have DONE SOMETHING.

That being said. It is up to us.

That being said Michigan had one visit 35 days before the primary.

That being said here in Rhode Island we did not get one visit.

Yes PA needed something and damn I wish they had done something, but when I hear someone who is angry about being "left out to dry".... I guess they did not bother to watch the other 42 primaries.

The campaign had the resources they had and they used them the way they did and that is that. Dr. Paul has been through more in the last 12 months than any of us can claim in a lifetime.

This man has been spit on and ignored in public by the media pigs. he has dragged his butt all over this country to get cheated, marginalized and insulted.

He was fighting for the freedom of Pennsylvanians and all the rest of us before we knew what freedom was.

If he was not in PA then there was good reason for it whether we agree with it or not.

Go Ron Paul!

Hmmm

I'm in Michigan ... I don't remember a visit from RP 35 days before the primary. To the best of my recollection, the only time Ron Paul was in Michigan was to attend a GOP "conference" up in Mackinac, and that was during the summer of '07.

**Update** My bad - I had forgotten about the MSNBC debate in Dearborn. I thought that was further out than you had mentioned from the primary though. I could be wrong, though ... again. lol

Hell Ya...

Thats it!

my honest opinion

Fortune Favors the Bold

based on virtually nothing, is not that Snyder was incompetent or sabotaging the campiagn, rather that he was in over his head. He probably imagined this run would be similar to RP's libertarian run in 88. Suddenly, he becomes this national figure accountable to some of the most passionate political supporters ever and the national media. At this stage, I think worrying about the official campaign is shoulda, woulda, coulda. It is OUR responsibility to see this through and continue the revolution into the future. There isn't all that much the national campiagn can do anymore, sunce our strategy requires intelligence and stealth, and McCain-Feingold prevents the paid campaign from having much contact with the grassroots.
Murray Sabrin, for example, learned from Paul's experience, and the most of his campaign staff are volunteers.

a real man would admit he

a real man would admit he was in over his head and ask for help. especially when it comes to something this important. from what i have gathered he turned away all offers of FREE help.

I Am Just Asking, But....

Did you just give Kent Snyder a pass? If you are the Leader, Lead! And yes it is our responsibility because we don't depend on others to do things for us.

Lord, I can't do this. Kent Snyder needs to grow some guts and speak the Truth. What is wrong with telling like it is?

WHAT'S WRONG WITH SPEAKING THE TRUTH? SPEAK IT!

Take the pity party and get the hell outta here!

Even you are a Winner or you are a pus@y full of fear of what someone will think about you in your social status. This is a lot larger than Biff and Buffy and how the table placements and the orchestra is in place.

The only way Kent Snyder can redeem himself is to speak for himself and stop hiding from this movement just like the rest of them.

If you didn't want to win, why did you get involved?

Smile, I Love You and Jesus does too!

Radical....

Remember the past as you look forward to today...

more so

Fortune Favors the Bold

that's its sort of irrelevant at this point...

The guy who did the recording

Enjoyed it too much and referred to us outside and far away from himself. That means he is no Ron Paul person. The rest of us are in this for our freedom and nothing the HQ does is going to be a deciding factor for us. I don't know what the ins/outs of HQ are, and I have no way to find out, so why let it bother me or ours. They are their own set of circumstances. Grassroots is what this is all about. If grassroots can elect him, he will serve.

What happens when 2 Bumps Bump?

Baby Bumps.

Ask

and you shall recieve. a lady posted here that she needed RP slim jims etc.An I mailed her them out at my expense. Make a post for what you need and someone will get them to you. We in Massachusetts only got some leftovers from NH and we had to buy our own stuff. Look on ebay and other places for cheap deals. Keep plugging away

Great idea

I have some slim jims that I would be more than happy to mail out upon request, as well.

That Is Not Going To Help

The primary is 5 weeks away. Why would they help you now. Do it yourself. Dr .Paul does not believe in top down control.

Take the initiative in PA

yourself - get something going - yes, no McCain signs, great, go to your local GOP HQ's as others have done locally here, ask them - tell them your concern about McCain being the annointed - talk to your local Republican committee person, he or she just might be a Ron Paul supporter - that's what it's all about - not waiting for HQ's to direct us...30+ days & still working - Millersville University tomorrow as Ron Paul greeted Hillarys procession yesterday with big 4x8 signs - #1 on the Ballot in PA - easy to find...Don't give up & keep spreading the word.

PA just got TONS of supplies

PA just got TONS of supplies shipped in. Literally tons (thousands of pounds). Despite our frustrations with headquarters, the grassroots will continue to campaign for Paul all the way up until the primary, and then we will continue to fight for freedom for years to come.

so I' not the only one still up at 3am?

k guess I'm ok?

opps its the 20th

guess i'm not ok

Right on hempzelsplus!

To everyone: Stop waiting around for somebody else ... look at the Granny Warriors with their march, for crying out loud. Take some initiative. Are you a delegate yet??

I guess its time to look past Ron Paul

We're all pissed the idiot Campaign managers withdrew Ron paul coming to PA, like we were told he would come April 11-12th. We were also told we were going to get 20 tons of materials.

Where is all the money we raised going? Is it to pay $1000.00 a day salaries for loser campaign managers? Please cut them loose. Embrace the grassroots. Cut off some money for the hightide promo. These people did some great work. Recognize Ringside Revolution. And speak on RPRRadio.
Finally come to PA-we had a HUGE rally here before Iowa. Ron, if you and your people are listening, your message is going to die if you neglect the people who brought you here.

We did get tons of material!

We did get tons of material! What part of PA are you in?

I do agree with you that Ron Paul needs to come to PA. It would be ridiculous not to.

Wahhhhh

Where do you get your $1000/day salary figure? Facts, please.

That figure is not accurate.

That figure is not accurate. That rumor was started because of the FEC reports which showed Kent Snyder getting $48,000 a month.

Jonathan Bydlak, the Ron Paul 2008 Fundraising Director, explained this:
"The FEC reports do not break out individuals' salaries from expense reimbursements. So in other words, suppose we get Ron a private jet and reserve it using Kent's credit card. Kent needs to be reimbursed that money so that he can pay back his credit card bill. So Kent was not being paid $48,000 in a month... that includes a huge amount of reimbursements. The same goes for Lew and many others on our staff. Hope that helps!:

Here is a full thread from

Here is a full thread from RPF in which Jonathan Bydlak answers questions from the grassroots:

Yeppers

You're right. I kind of figured that's where those numbers came from. But let's not let facts get in the way of things ;-)

I

I live in Pa, but unfortunately not one of the areas that decides elections..there are virtually no signs here, no phone solicitation, no mailings and no door to door...and that's from every candidate not just us..it almost seems like no one even cares about the election !!!

wtf? i guess it does make me

wtf?

i guess it does make me wonder about the campaign... it never seemed like they campaigned all that hard/had many events... it was like maybe one thing a week at the high point, when everyone else was doing multiple events a day...

it was more than one a week

There were often several events per day. I remember Nevada was very busy when RP swang through thar. So, be fair. Still, I have to agree with your frustration. Many times I've wanted to see more on the official calendar.

Get active NOW to put Ron in the general election. ronpaul.meetup.com

That guys message sounds

like it's coming from a very bitter guy. Why else would he call us a bunch of a**es for continuing to fight for RP and our freedoms? Sounds like he'd rather see us fail just for spite. Face it, the guy is a BIG baby.

Agreed.

Hang in there Chris J

Yes, I agree, timing is everything. I posted this because these people have a right to speak what they want to from their own experiences. That's how we grow and understand the Truth.

How is that, exactly? It's not a bit constructive, IMHO.
