As a result of the failing economy, there is an increase in the number of homeless Americans. A tent city has been built in Southern California to house over 300 people. Officials have no plans of closing it down.

American Homeless

This is awful for the people involved. At least in the UK you get a free new house often with a garden and if you have a disibility you get a free car too. And of course free health care and pharmacy. Rent paid, local tax paid, free school meals, washing machines, etc, etc. Maybe that's why we are broke?

'I always think of all you canvassors and precinct leaders and delegates at the front line and caucuses.
Good luck out there &Thank you. You're a gift.

Wasn't this debunked? Most

Wasn't this debunked?

Most of these people are junkies and alcoholics. I believe this "city" was there before the credit/subprime mess.

Debunked?

Some of these people are druggies and bums, but not all. Devvy Kidd,
visited on of these "tent cities" and there are many there who are simply in financial ruin... What do you guys think is going to happen when folks can no longer pay the mortgage, and inflation is eatting you alive? This is just the beginning of homelessness.........................

yes

it existed before

theres another video out

theres another video out now, somewhere else in cali

Looks like the Depression

Wow, that's pretty eye opening. It looked like scenes I've seen from the 1930s. Those people didn't look like bums. They were ordinary people in a bad situation. It's scary. How many people are one step away from being in the same situation?

You are going to get scolded with that kind of talk

onevoice has decreed there shall be no depression.
Perhaps we should check and see if there might be a little sadness?

There

there will be no depression..California is a crazy state and no way in hell would I live in an unstable state..people moved there to make a quick buck and now they reap what they sow

onevoice...while I agree with you that Ron Paul WILL

in fact secure the party's nomination through the delegate process, and that the war in Iraq was ill-conceived and should be ended-I would just ask you to reevaluate your confidence in the current state of our economy and remember to diversify. Also- while I agree with many Americans that 9/11 was never satisfactorilly investigated, and that there very well could be something to this "ufo phenomenon" (I will give you the benefit of the doubt that what you saw was in fact "unidentified")- I just cannot buy your assertion posted several times in various places that "9/11 was the first of several attacks by extraterrestrial biological entities from ufos". It just seems far-fetched is all.

Thats right!

And the mortgage lenders that made those sub-prime loans? They are simply innocent victims too! It's a good thing that the gubernmnt stepped in to protect those generous banks that so graciously allowed those lazy people the opportunity to see their mortgage payments double.

/end sarcasm

Man, I'd love to live in

Man, I'd love to live in onevoice's utopia. I bet it's like those Walgreens commercials they air - you know the ones where everything is perfect? Right down to the perfect little town? Alternatively, if that's not possible, I'll smoke whatever it is he's smoking ....
